It’s March 1st!!
What? What?
How did that happen?
Didn’t we just kick off 2019???
I love March. (Let’s be real, I say that about basically every month. Hahaha!) BUT I do love March. I got married in March, my favorite color is green, I’m an Irish girl (see this post HERE), and I love St. Paddy’s Day, so basically, I love this month.
Speaking of me being an Irish girl. Last year, when my DNA results came back and said I was Irish, my dad was like “Of course you are, the Lowes are Irish”. My dad has always been very proud of his Irish roots. So…for Christmas, I bought both of my parents a 23andMe kit to see exactly how Irish my dad was and to find out where my mom came from. She was under the impression that her family was like English with a bit of German. But you know what? My dad IS Irish, but my mom is even MORE Irish than him. Hahahaha! She now brags to my dad about how she is more Irish than he is.
Any-who…it’s Friday, it’s March, I feel like wearing green today and I’m happy you stopped by 🙂 . I’m linking up with my girls Erika, Narci and Andrea to share my faves from the week. Have a great weekend!
Did you see this yesterday?!?
I shared my FEBRUARY BOOK REVIEW!!
You need to check it out HERE because one of the books will most likely be in my top three this year. Every single one of you should read it.
If you’re local and have a preschooler, then you need to hit Grapevine for…
…Peppa Pig World of Play!
Or, as Madeley says, Peppa Disney World.
#sigh #travelagentskid
Last Friday, Erika and I drove on over there to check it out and it was so much fun!!
We had no idea what to expect, but it was such a nice morning. We bought our tickets the day before online and then picked our time. We picked 10:15 and showed up with two excited girls.
It’s basically a gigantic room filled with rubber/foam toys/slides and such. There are even trikes for them to ride around.
Erika and I found a bench and grabbed coffee from their food cart and settled in for the fun.
These two girls are so sweet 🙂 . We stayed like 2 hours and had the best time.
Of course, you exit through the gift shop. #sigh We came home with this sweet little book 🙂 .
Annnnnnd…just for grins, this was another favorite of mine this week…
…while Erika was potty training Britt and the boys were playing outside, I took these cuties to see a movie and have lunch.
There is nothing better than reclining and eating a meal while watching a movie.
We saw How to Train Your Dragon 3 and loved it!
Movies are extra fun with your blanket and Moana.
After, we found ourselves at Target and well, you know. That’s just nothing but trouble.
On Wednesday, I told you guys all about…
…how much I love this Revlon Brush/Dryer thingy. Guys! It’s really quite amazing. It takes my wet hair from…
to…
…so fun, right?! When Erika told me to buy it, I was a little skeptical, but it has been so easy to use and I love the results! I will absolutely be taking this dryer brush thing on vacation with me this month!!
The day after the Oscars, I boarded my flight to Boston and decided to see what Bohemian Rhapsody was all about…and I really liked it! Other than some songs, I really didn’t know much about Queen, so I found the whole thing really fascinating. Next up…I need to watch A Star is Born, right? I feel like I do.
On Monday, we headed off to the airport and I wore the coziest, cutest sweater…
Isn’t it so cute?! It comes in like a gazillion colors, but I loved beige the most! Bonus, it’s only $30!
Cozy sweater and a good book and I’m ready for a flight!
Speaking of Amazon, how cute is this tee?!
Ah! I bought it on Amazon and it was so cute, that I went ahead and bought Kensington one too! Mine is a small and I bought her an xsmall. Now, mine is already sold out but I found this one here and it’s super cute too!
St. Paddy’s Day tee plus my favorite shorts and sandals? I’m ready for the 17th!! You know who else is??? My little girls…
…isn’t this tee adorable???? They’re wearing it today 🙂 .
I couldn’t wrap up a March 1st post without sharing my 22 Festive St. Paddy’s Day Recipes!

Narci says
What fun!! Peppa Pig world looks so cute! And those St. Patty’s day shirts are darling!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams says
My goddaughter and her brothers would LOVE that Peppa Pig world! I’m so sad your St Patricks t-shirt is sold out, I would definitely grab that one since it’s so cute! Your sweater for the flight looks so cozy too! Have a great weekend Shay!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
Angela says
Love the St Patrick’s Day tops!!! Thanks for sharing, Shay!! Do you love those sandals? I’m thinking about getting them? Are they true to size? Sometimes I size up on the Sam Edelman sandals, so I wasn’t sure about these. And what color are yours?
Have a great weekend!!
Alexis deZayas says
Woohoo! I love March too! We got my sweet pup (Lucky) on St Patrick’s Day last year and now have something extra to celebrate this month!
Janette says
If you haven’t read Tea Girl Of Hummingbird Lane, then add it to your list. It takes place in China and the USA and involves a Chinese to American adoption. I’m reading it now and am blown away by the story and all of the research that went into this book. Can’t put it down.
Megan says
What size did you buy in that cute sweater? The reviews and pictures on Amazon are terrible, but I love it and I’m not sure what to do!
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought it in a small and feel like the fit is perfect!
Tammy Calhoun says
Wait, you haven’t seen A Star is Born?!!
Morgan Godbold says
Yes! Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star is Born are both great movies!!
Beth Knecht says
I love your March/St. Paddy’s Day recipes! I have one picked out to make each week in March!! They’re all mint related, and I picked up all of my mint supplies at the grocery store this morning!
Ahna @ Hammers N Hugs says
Oooh love that sweater! Did you feel the fit was true to size? Ready to order but wondering if it runs small?? This sweater looks like it needs to feel loose and comfy 😉
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought it in a small and felt the size was perfect!
Ahna @ Hammers N Hugs says
Awesome thanks. I’m going to go for the blue, and by the way, at the moment it is only $17.99. Which of course means I should probably buy two . . .
Ahna @ Hammers N Hugs says
Thank you! Just got the blue! It was only $17.99 BTW, and somehow I had the self restraint to only buy 1.
Erin says
You have to watch a Star is Born! So good, probably my favorite movie ever! The music is the best, Bradley Cooper is my Hollywood Hubby and he is soooo good! You will LOVE it!
Emily says
Your post on the dryer tool makes me wonder if that new 3 part dyson dryer would be even better!? Do you have any friends with one so you can compare?
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t know anyone with that one yet!
Mary Jane McNeill says
Emily, I bought the Dyson dryer, but (ironically) it dried my hair so fast I didn’t have time to style it. Plus, it actually made it more frizzier than usual. I had to follow up with a flat iron to get my hair to calm down. I ended up sending it to my niece. #auntoftheyear
Laci says
Watch A Star is Born STAT!!!! Like now!!!!
Angie G says
Will you post the link (even though sold out) to your actual St. Patty’s Day t? Maybe will come back in stock…
I’m also Irish girl who loves green! 🙂
Jenny says
I love how much you love March!!! Me and my husband were married in March. St Patrick’s Day actually!! What day is your anniversary?
Mix and Match Mama says
The 13th!!!
Brooke Richardson says
Yes!!! A Star is Born is a must see!!!! Soooo good!
Liz says
Love that sweater!! I’m ordering it in red! Also, I think we share March 13th? My birthday and your anniversary are the same. We love March because David is part Irish and we have TONS of birthdays in March. Have a great weekend!! ❤️
Talia says
Thank you for sharing the link for the St Patrick’s Day shirt – it’s a must for my daughter who will turn 30 on St Patrick’s Day! Also, you really want to see A Star is Born – it is fantastic!! (I saw it twice at the theatre!)
Stewart says
You have to watch A Star is Born!!! You will not be able to stop listening to the soundtrack after!
Kelly Lane Nation says
Random question….how do you clean your Ugg slippers? I have a pair in grey and they look rough!
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t!! I probably should, but I don’t.
Jenny N says
You definitely need to watch A Star is Born…..so good and also so sad!!
I put the Tattooist of Auschwitz on my list of books that I check out from our local library. I got an email yesterday that it was ready. I am going to pick it up Monday and start reading it. I really like light, easy chick lit books but you have never steered us wrong.
Lauren Palmer says
I love that sweater with the buttons!
Nicole says
YES!!!
Please watch A Star is Born…so good. Great music. So proud of Lady Gaga for this performance and I don’t even like her haha.
Amy Baker says
Hi Shay! So I read your post on the hairdryer and I bought it! It came yesterday and I blew out my 15 year old daughters curly hair last night and it was AMAZING! I used it on mine this morning and it’s seriously the best thing that ever happened to my hair routine! I sent out a text last night and two more friends bought it as well. Thank YOU and thank you for showing how to do it too – You just made my life SO much easier! Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend! ps- i just bought the sweater – ADORABLE!
Mix and Match Mama says
I was super skeptical, but seriously, it is amazing!!!
Kim says
A Star Is Born is really good but I’m partial to the 1970’s version which is probably my favorite movie of all time!! I was so disappointed they made a change to the ending. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are amazing and the music and acting are fantastic!! I walked into work this morning with a tear stained face from listening to the soundtrack in my car. So so good!!! I also loved Bohemian Rhapsody!! My son’s bday is March 15 so I kind of love March too! Happy weekend Shay!! ?
Mary says
What size did you get in the jean shorts and are they true to size or did you size up?
Mix and Match Mama says
True to size, a 26!
Jeni says
I know a little boy that would freak out over Peppa Pig World! And the soundtrack to A Star is Born is better than the movie. And I need to borrow your hairdryer to see what I think…you sold me on the Dyson last time I borrowed that. 🙂
Amanda @ That Inspired Chick says
Late to the party today but I’m also jumping on the “you must see A Star Is Born” bandwagon! 😉 I was so surprised by how much I liked it!!

Those St. Patrick’s Day tips are all adorable! We have spring break the month after yours and I’m finding it’s tough to find cute (but appropriate) spring break clothes and bathing suits for my tween daughter. Any chance you’d hand the blog over to Kensington for a day and have her pick out some spring break fashions for the 10-12 year old girls?
Mary Jane McNeill says
I love that sweater with the buttons, but I’m surprised you strayed from your usual flying “uniform”! Side note: my new German Shepherd puppy chewed my Ugg slippers. Just one. But I’m wearing them anyway, chewed or not!! 🙂
Nerine says
Next time you’re in the UK.. and if your kiddos are still into Peppa Pig at that time.. take them to Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park! It’s a Peppa theme park!!! Last summer while in London we discovered it exists, so we took the train down to Southampton and went to the park for the day. To say my kids lost their minds over it is an understatement 🙂
