This morning, we go for procedure number 18.
Here’s my brave little nugget three years ago the morning of procedure number one.
If you go back and read my post about it, I say that it was the first of possibly six procedures.
And we’re on eighteen.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, as much as I think I want to know the future…I don’t. I am beyond thankful that three years ago when I took that picture of her sitting there on the stairs that I had no freaking clue that we’d be back almost three years to the day later for number eighteen. I don’t know how I would have functioned that day (or any of the days later) knowing in advance what was in front of us.
Yesterday, I surprised Ashby with a special little overnight trip in honor of her being SO DANG BRAVE about all of these procedures. I took her to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas for the afternoon and night to enjoy their really cool water park and then a fun night in a hotel. We swam, we rode the slides, we ate room service in our pjs and watched TV all cuddled up together…we had the BEST time. Right this minute, she’s out like a light next to me in the bed as I finish up a few things and go to sleep myself.
These procedures get harder on her both emotionally and physically every time, so please just pray for her today. We just love this sweet girl so much! Thank you for your love and prayers! xo
