Happy Friday, friends!! I have had the best week because THE WEATHER FINALLY GOT ITS ACT TOGETHER! Holy hotness! We apparently had record breaking temps recently which did not set well with me 😉 . Speaking of that, I saw this on Pinterest and laughed out loud…
Girls, is that me or IS THAT ME?!?! Hahahaha!
Okay, I’m super pumped about our weekend because we have a Saturday free of sports! I don’t know how that happened, but after the last two weekends of marathon sport-ing, I’m excited to cozy up with my fam and enjoy a very lazy Saturday at home. As always, here are my favorite things from the week, and I’m linking up with my girls Erika, Narci and Andrea.
Have the best weekend!!
THIS…had to my favorite thing from the week…
…oh my goodness!!! My heart is still melting.
…Narci always does such an amazing job with our pics (see last year’s Christmas card photo as Exhibit A…)…
…but there is just something so absolutely precious about these pumpkin pics…
…my heart. If you’re interested in Narci taking your pumpkin pics, I do believe she has a spot or two left! You can email her at narcidphotography@gmail.com for more information!!
I went to Target this week with my girls and bought myself…
…this hat 🙂 . Because it screamed FALL!
You girls have been loving my cousin Casey’s bows so much that this month, she’s offering $10 off your first time bow box subscription!
If you sign up, then every month, you get a box of seasonal bows delivered right to your door! This month, it looks like…
…this! Five super cute bows (some solids, a glittery one and the cutest Halloween bow!). Head to Casey’s One Stop Bow Shop and use promo code ShayBox for your $10 off your first bow box subscription!
On Saturday, I asked my friends on Insta Stories what their favorite family-friendly Halloween movies were and got so many great responses. My family LOVES watching a holiday movie together, but we were running out of ideas and repeating a lot of our favorite movies already this season, so I thought I’d ask. Andrew suggested Chuckie and Pet Cemetery…so clearly, I needed other opinions 😉 . I went through all of the responses (there were so many!!), and wrote down the top five suggestions. Ready? Here they are: Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Casper, Halloweentown, and Spookley the Square Pumpkin. My kids hadn’t seen two of those top pics, so we were super thankful for the suggestions. If you have any more, please share!! We always love spending a Friday night with a movie. (And no, not It, Andrew…)
It’s almost time for the holidays friends! I just wanted to put a friendly reminder out there that these two pairs of pants were the MOST worn of mine last fall/winter. I wore them on multiple vacations and to just about every holiday party I attended (I would just switch up the tops). These pics here are from last year, but I wanted you to see both pairs because they’re still in stock and I still LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!
…my velvet jeans are perfect. There is just something about “velvet” that elevates a plain outfit from okay to “I’m ready for that holiday party!”. The top is not in stock, but you can find the pants HERE.
I also wore these pants in NYC and then well into holiday season…
…my sequin leggings. Oh how I love you, sequin leggings! They were really thick (so you could wear them as pants), high-waisted just enough that everything stays where it needs to stay and doesn’t cut you off in that awkward way in the mid-section. Love them. Either pair of pants will get you all the way through the season.
‘Tis that time of year for me to indulge in new pajamas!! I bought these three this week and am in love!
Okay, I think these might be my fave of the bunch! I love the plaid because they look festive but don’t scream Christmas (as you and I both know, I’ll be wearing them through March). They come in one other color combo too. Plus, they’re flannel, so between my flannel pjs and my flannel sheets, I’m suuuuuper cozy at night!
I kept this pair too! How cute are they?! The stripes just look like Thanksgiving to me! They come in other prints as well, and of course, I’m wearing my favorite slippers with them. A pair of pjs and slippers would make an excellent Christmas gift for someone you love!
Now, I did end up returning this buffalo plaid pair because I really don’t need three new pairs of pjs, but aren’t they cute?! They even come in Christmas print HERE.
New cozy pjs plus a Hallmark movie, and my Friday night is perfection : ).
Last but not least, I decided to re-post this today…
…my 13 Wickedly Fun Halloween Treats because they’re all so FESTIVE!! I love Halloween recipes!! They just make me so darn happy 😉 . You can see this round up of spooktacular treats right HERE.
I hope you all have the best weekend! See you back here on Monday!! xo

Don’t forget Adams Family Values, it is actually my favorite over the 1st one. Also, we love All of the Hotel Transylvania Movies, Toy Story of Terror (it was an ABC Special we recorded last year and still watch at least once a week and it will be on again this year.) Double Double Toil and Trouble with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen is still a favorite of mine and of course Halloween Town (and the sequels) and Twitches are always good too.

Those striped pjs! SO cute!

Happy Friday! The new Addams Family is out in theaters today. I’m excited. Trailers look good. It’s animated, and characters look like the original Charles Addams characters that inspired the whole Addams Family empire. It’s rated PG so your kids can see it too.

I bought those sequin pants last year and wore them with a red satin cami to a fancy holiday party. They were perfect!! Would love to see your ideas for styling the pants in a variety of ways- including dressing them down to make them fit holiday but casual occassions. Always fun to see how people put together their outfits. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I love that idea, Jodi!! I kept wearing them too! They just always worked!
Vanessa says
I love your Friday posts!

I’m super jealous of your sports free weekend…and I need alllll those jammies and that hat.

I LOVE Halloween movies! Here are a couple more you may want to try: Disney Channel’s Girl vs. Monster (very cute, fun message about being brave, all the fall feels), and Netflix’s A Witches’ Ball (very sweet story about a young witch who has to deal with a bit of a bully- she shows her great kindness in the end). This one has a fabulous musical number called “I put my hand inside a toilet” and it cracks me and my kids up every time!
Stefany says
I love reading your Friday favorite posts…I thought of you today, El Camino is on Netflix, my son who does movie reviews woke up at midnight to watch and review it…he gave it an A+…not a family movie, ? but one I know you will be watching soon…enjoy!!! Here is his review if you are interested… https://youtu.be/7QIdXwySKjc

The Worst Witch was one of our favorite movies when my girls were growing up!

While E.T. is not a Halloween movie per se, there is a crucial scene where the kids go trick or treating, so we always watch it around Halloween. Definitely a family favorite. And I must say, Madeley and Britt are just too cute!!

Double Double Toil and Trouble!! Does that mean I’m old that Mary-Kate and Ashley aren’t a thing anymore?

My husband bought me the sequin leggings for Christmas last year, but I am stuck on how to style–can you do a round up with those pants and different tops?
Mother of 3 says
I’ve been needing some new Pj’s; those are all really cute options.
Mandy says
My kids have enjoyed Room on the Broom based off a children’s picture book and The Spooky Tale of Captain Underpants Hack-a-Ween both on Netflix. Love the p.j.’s and Halloween mini pics too! Enjoy your relaxing weekend!
Kim C says
Oh mylanta do those plaid pjs look like they’re the comfiest things ever! I just ordered my boys’ Christmas pjs from Old Navy at the beginning of the week. And that hat from Target makes me think I need to go back and see if I can find one for myself — love the color of it!
Question about your slippers — I know you wear them ALL THE TIME ? but about how long does a pair last you? Would you say more than a year? I’ve never bought the Ugg brand and love that style of slipper. My other ones have never lasted me more than a year but I know you get what you pay for. Just wondering your thoughts…
Thanks Shay! Happy weekend! ♥️
Mix and Match Mama says
I have bought myself a new pair the last three Novembers in a row. I keep the older pairs and still wear them outside/in the garage/etc, but since I literally wear them all day unless I am walking out the door, mine get pretty worn. So, I still wear my pair from three years ago, but I have two other pairs too. Side note, I’m wearing them now 😉 .
Laurie says
What brand is your long sleeve black top with the v neck that you are wearing with the black pants?
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought it at Nordstrom last year. I bet it’s one of their house brands, but I don’t know for sure right now.
Laurie says
ok thanks for getting back to me!
Lindsay Kearns says
I’m wondering what size you bought in the first (adorable fall plaid) flannel pair. I am debating between a S and an XS. I generally wear a 0/2 (XS), but I’m 5’8″, and I’m concerned by the look of them at Nordstrom’s website, that the top might be too short. It looks shorter in the front than in the back, but it doesn’t look that way on you. I would appreciate any insights. You have adorable taste, and like you, I am equally obsessed with Fall and all things comfy/cozy.
Mix and Match Mama says
I bought an xsmall, but I bought them as a gift for a friend who is taller than me and got her the small.
Bobbie says
I absolutely love Hocus Pocus…and I have some special reasons…part of it was filmed in my hometown and I remember as a child going to the filming and meeting Thora Birch! I grew up (and currently live in Whittier, California). The homes where they go trick-or-treating are in a neighborhood around Central Park in Uptown Whittier and the beginning scene the classroom was filmed at East Whittier Middle School (I taught there for a year and would always laugh to myself when we had staff meetings in what I knew as the Hocus Pocus classroom)! Just thought I’d share those fun facts ?
Geri Shaw says
I bought the sequin pants last year and wore them New Year’s Eve!!! They were a hit!! Thanks for all your posts!! Keep them coming!!!
Katie says
Did you get a XS or S in the Stripe (BP Brand) PJ’s?
Mix and Match Mama says
xsmall!

My own kids (now high school and college) loved Halloweentown and watched it all the time. (They even watched it this summer when they were both home!) I let my class pick it for a reward a few years ago and they were obsessed and so I’ve done it ever since. It’s totally cheesy, but they love it and not a hint of anything inappropriate.
