Over the last two weeks, I’ve recapped PART ONE and PART TWO of our trip to Telluride and done a Q&A where I answered your questions about skiing/snowboarding with your family, so that just leaves today’s post…our last Telluride recap 🙂 . Let’s dive right in…
…good morning from beautiful Telluride, CO! This was our second to last full day, and we had it earmarked for “do whatever we want”…so, we crammed a lot in. First up, Smith and Andrew wanted to snowboard that morning and then sweet Ashby wanted to go back to ski school. We told her that she would miss some other fun things like sledding, but she said she wanted to ski instead, so we signed her up for one more day of ski school (her third for this trip) and dropped her off. The boys snowboarded and the other three girls were a bit lazy and then walked the town and meandered before making our way to the gondola…
…we had such a nice morning!!
Up we went! We took the gondola from Telluride back up to where the ski school/lifts/many restaurants are in Mountain Village, CO to meet up with the boys.
Just stunning.
When we got up there to the top, look who we saw?! ASHBY!! We were so excited and so proud to see her going by with her instructor and other two classmates. The mama bear in me is always so worried about Ashby…so I always love it when she finds things she likes, things she’s capable of now and would be capable of in the future (because we just don’t know what the future holds for her) and things she gets excited about. Friends, skiing is one of those things!!
After Ashby whizzed by, we met up with the boys for a bite to eat…
…side note, the hype is real with the faux leather leggings. I put them on all the time! They are so comfy and cute!! Also, my boots are HERE.
After we ate, the five of us headed down the mountain to go sledding…
…over the river and through the woods! There was a great sledding spot right there in Telluride with a little house that rented you all of the equipment you might need for a whole variety of snow sports…
We rented a sled and then off we went…
Madeley was not interested in sledding, but the big kids sure loved it!
Not a bad place to hang out for the afternoon 🙂 .
At 3:00, we picked up Ashby and heard all about her super fun day of skiing! Then…
…per your recommendations, we tried Esperanza’s for dinner and LOVED IT!!
Tex-Mex makes us happy 🙂 .
It was just the coziest little spot. We wrapped up our night back at home with Live PD because…it’s the most amazing show ever. Ever. 😉
The next day was our last full day on vacation and those five Shulls hit the mountain one last time.
I met up with them for a lunch break and heard all about their morning. Side note, I just wore that sweater yesterday too. It’s so soft!
Andrew grabbed Ashby a little early from ski school and all four of them finished off the day skiing together.
I picked up Madeley from ski school…
…and we hung out until they were done. She loved telling me all about her day!
Those Shull girls are sure special!
We decided everyone needed a Nutella crepe after a long day of skiing and then…
…they wanted to go ice skating one last time.
For me, our last dinner in Telluride was the very best! We ate at Allreds which is at the very top of the mountain (you have to take the gondola to get there).
Look at those views!!!
We enjoyed our last night on vacation 🙂 .
That wraps up Telluride 2019!! If you have never been before, we really did love it! Now, I can see why everyone raves about it. It was absolutely beautiful! If you’re currious about some of the details, I answered many questions about this trip HERE in my Q&A!

Way to go, Ashby!!! Look at her go! There’s not much cuter than Madeley in her ski gear!

Sounds like a great trip. We always say skiing with little ones is a “pay now play later” activity and we are starting to see the payoff now as our kids are a little older and skiing without lessons and able to do some runs with friends and meet us at the bottom. It’s such great family time, too.
We will be in Colorado this summer with a few free days. Do you have any recommendations for towns to visit during the summer months with tweens?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would say Breckenridge!!! I’m sure other towns are great too, but when we went over the summer with our kids, there were so many activities up on the mountain!!
Megan says
Thanks! We’ve been to Breckenridge and the kids loved it, so maybe we will head back there.
Carly says
We’ve done Breck and Durango/Purgatory and we loved both! If you’re looking for a town you haven’t done yet, I definitely recommend Durango!
-cute town
-take the Silverton train
-gold mining
-base of the mountain activities
-rafting
-hiking

So proud of sweet Ashby!! Also, Twlluride looks amazing!

So many thoughts! As a Law Enforcement wife I LOVE that y’all love Live PD. Lol It really is great. I LOVE Ashby’s confidence…. I just love your whole fam! So glad you had a great vacation. xoxo
Mix and Match Mama says
LOVE IT!!! Please tell your husband that I said thank you for his service.
Kerrie Hofstad says
You’re so sweet. I sure will.

Hey Shay! What size do you wear in the Spanx leggings? And do you wear the petite? We tried another TJ’s item to add to your list- the instant hot chocolate packets. Tastes like brownies?
Mix and Match Mama says
I had to size up in the leggings. I bought them in a small based on the comments online and they fit really well.
Laci says
That dinner view, WOW!!!!

Can you list some activities for adult women who don’t ski or ice skate? I know there is some shopping and great dining choices. Is there any sightseeing nearby? Of course, there are spa choices too. Just wondering if you don’t ski and still want to go for a long weekend, would we be bored?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! That was one of the questions in my Q&A and then so many women chimed in in the comment section with ideas too! Head there to see their answers!
Kathy Roe says
I love reading about the adventures of your sweet family! Thanks for sharing.
Mix and Match Mama says
Have the best day, Kathy!

Shay – Can you link your sweater that is lime green, white and black? I can’t find it…
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love this one! https://shopstyle.it/l/bcWno

LivePD is the best show ever! What some of those police officers have to go through daily is crazy. I am a little biased towards the Tulsa PD since I live right outside of Tulsa. I love Sgt. Sticks and Officer Ross! But my new favorites are Officer Cavanaugh (yum!) and Officer Omahony with Pomona, CA. I also love Danny Brown, he is hilarious.
Laura says
Is that Nordstrom striped sweater long enough for leggings? Chasing around a toddler in the dead of winter, I have no interest in wearing anything else!
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmm…I would probably say no to this particular sweater covering you enough for leggings.
Paige says
That landscape just doesn’t even look real! What a beautiful place!
Tracy says
What a gorgeous place!
Kacy M says
That pic of K and M ice skating is too precious!
Carly says
Are the Spanx leggings warm? Heading to NYC in March and wondering if those would keep me warm enough for sightseeing…
Telluride is GORGEOUS!
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I think it depends on how cold it is. If it’s like 17 degrees, then maybe not. It’s it in the 40s or above, I would wear them!
