Oh.
I just said that out loud.
Anyone else?
Oh, it’s Tuesday. I really wish it were Friday 😉 .
Today’s post is a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Just some randomness, starting with…has anyone else watched season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? It’s only eight episodes long. It came out the day I had my hysterectomy. I watched it pretty quickly until about episode 6 or 7 and then I watched three seasons of The Office before I finished it. Hahahaha! Does that speak volumes or what? I just didn’t love this season. Anyone else? I need less Sophie and more Midge. And her parents. And her cute ex-husband. It was okay. I’m ready for season four.
Well, around our house, the name of the game is if you sit down, Frenchie will take a nap with you…
…exhibit A…
…exhibit B…
…exhibit C.
Ha!
Guys, Kensington came home from school this week so excited because they are playing The Oregon Trail now at school. Andrew and I both had major flashbacks to 1992! Anyone else play?! She was like so excited about it, so we looked it up online and played as a family. The early ’90 edition is still in full force. It was so much fun!
I love getting a new pair of sneakers at the beginning of the year to motivate me to work out! This time, I bought this cute pair. They’re on sale now and come in several colors!!
My tights are sold out, but my sweatshirt is HERE and it’s on sale too!
For Ashby’s Gotcha Day, she wanted to get a mani/pedi and eat sushi. She is tiny, but she can put away the sushi!!! It was such a sweet afternoon with this girl.
Evening snuggles with Miss Madeley.
I saw this quote this week, and it totally nailed our weather. One day, it’s bright and sunny, so we read books outside and the next it’s snowing…
…yeah, this was our week.
We didn’t have to be at our volleyball tournament until 2:00 on Saturday, so that meant a nice, lazy morning (with a little snow out the window!).
Anyone else spend a lot of time in the car with their youngest? She’s always fun company!
On Wednesday, Miss Ashby got a sassy new haircut!
Sweet girl! She has loved fixing it herself this week!
I found this gem on my phone. They were taking selfies while I was outside of the car talking to another mom. Ha!
Kensington had a doctors appointment on Friday afternoon, so on our way back, we picked up Frenchie to take her with us to grab the other kids from school. It was raining so hard while we sat in the car and waited for them to come out.
And finally, the little girls wanted me to give their bathroom a little makeover. Awe! Isn’t it cute?! It’s so HAPPY!
I found all of this on Pottery Barn Kid’s website.
That’s it for Tuesday! Today’s a extra fun day at the Shull house! I’ll be sure and post on Stories so you can see why 🙂 .
Holly Breton @ Pink Lady says
Completely agree with Mrs. Maisel- absolutely loved and devoured the first two seasons and then was really let down for this season and I also hate that we now have to wait a year for it to return- ugh 🙂
Narci says
The bathroom looks so cute! Love it!!
Sheaffer Sims says
Ashby is DARLING with her new little haircut. And Carter came home talking about Oregon Trail too, but they aren’t playing it on computers?!? We showed him the computer version at home also!
Mix and Match Mama says
I think K is playing on iPads at school, but we found it online at home. Girl…it will transport you back to the ’90s in a flash!
Mindy says
So fun!! Where did you get Ashby and K’s cute headbands from? Looking for some for my daughter. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Anthropologie!
Emily says
Two amazing things that will come from Madeley being the youngest (amongst many more): She’s going to be easy going/roll with the group and probably great with directions around town when she eventually drives! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh! I just LOL! Thank you for saying both things!!
Kelly Davis says
That is so funny, because it is true!! My younger daughter has such a great sense of where things are when driving, and now it makes sense:-)
Charmaine Ng | Architecture & Lifestyle Blog says
I wish it were Friday too! Still three more days to go until the weekend, ugh! 🙁 Cute post though – I LOVE the girls’ new bathroom! 🙂

I barely got through 1 episode of this season of Mrs Maisel. I am watching Bones, love it!
So I don’t know if I would feel this way if Nike was my go to shoe that fits and feels right, but I have a very hard time purchasing Nike stuff right now. I am even contemplating getting rid of my Nike stuff. What the Oregon project has done to runners is horrible ( google Mary Cain) and what they have done with maternity leave and their runners is also bad. It just needs to change..
Tara G. says
The portrait above the toilet is fantastic! ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Isn’t it though?! Hahaha!
Julie says
Hi! Love those puzzles that the kids were working. Where did you find those? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
Amazon! K is working on the Europe puzzle there and also the 50 States one. They’re really cute puzzles!
Valerie says
Are those the Mudpuppy brand? My first grade class loves them!
Jen says
I love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! And I did love season 3, although I agree about Sophie. But man…that teaser episode with Lenny? Swoon! And I kind of enjoyed Midge learning a lesson with Shy…I’m eager to see how she bounces back! Does anyone else find it strange how hands off she is with her kids?!? Not just the going on tour without them, but when they went on their summer trip they left the baby in the car for a bellman to get?? LOL Just baffling to me!
Mix and Match Mama says
Lenny!!!!!! Yes, yes, yes!
Erika Slaughter says
Did you guys make it to Oregon? Ebby Lee came home talking about so we played too. They were so excited!! But we all died before arriving!
Jill says
Our oldest two came home from school all excited about the Oregon Trail too! We did the same- sat in front of the fire and played together. It was the best!
Deb says
I’m still on season one of Mrs. Maisel but my friend stopped watching during 3 and she had loved the earlier seasons. Also, while back I commented here that I couldn’t read anymore WW2 books you encouraged me to do so and I read The Tattooist of Auschwitz which I loved. The 2 books I’ve read since just haven’t grabbed me like that one.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m so happy you read it! The book will stay with me forever.
Lynnette Behrle says
Love Ashby’s haircut, it is perfect on her!
Katie says
You have always had beautiful skin, but it looks especially radiant these days. Have you been doing anything different lately?
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmm…it might be all of that extra sleep I got over Christmas break!
Sandra Knight says
My son came home the other day so excited he got to play Oregon Trail at school. He has heard his dad and I talk about it before. He said that game was hard he always died and it was from dysentery. I told him I think everyone does from that on that game. lol
Nancy says
What kind of dog is Frenchie? Adorable family!
Mix and Match Mama says
She and Poppy are both Coton de Tulears!
Dawn says
Love love love Ashby’s new haircut!! What a cutie!! Also we have a dog just like Frenchie – always up for a nap! Isn’t that awesome??
Tracy says
Your Texas weather is an awful lot like our Ohio weather right now. Crazy winter! Love Ashby’s haircut and the girls’ bathroom. You just inspired me to refresh my daughter’s bathroom and make it more girly since she no longer has to share with her brother! 🙂
Kim says
I bought the card game version of the Oregon Trail a year or so ago from Target. Computer lab days were the best in elementary school to get to spend the time playing that game!
Can you link your striped sweater that you keep wearing? Or clue me into what blog post I missed it being mentioned in? It looks so warm and fuzzy!
Mix and Match Mama says
Right here: https://shopstyle.it/l/bcEQG 🙂
Leah Zanolla says
Did you know there’s an Oregon Trail boardgame? We got it on Amazon for Christmas a couple years ago! It’s so fun! And – you all have to work together to win, which makes it a great family game!
Love the picture above the toilet – I’m a fan of having a quirky thing like that in a regularly decorated room. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Um, no! My kids would love that!!!!
ashley gonzalez says
The bathroom is so cute. Where is the pink wall paper from?
Mix and Match Mama says
I tried to find my original source but I couldn’t! I’m sorry! I picked it out a long time ago.
Mary says
Hi! In the Facebook post you made yesterday about your makeup you mentioned you used the black Lancôme eyeliner. Which black? Noir or cafe nori or intense nori. So many options;). I have the CT pallet and live it! Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s intense noir!! Sorry about that!!!
Emily says
I agree with you about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
For a light hearted but funny watch I would recommend “Grace and Frankie” and “The Kominsky Method.” Ironically, they’re both about aging and comedies but they’re quite funny!
Mix and Match Mama says
I binged Grace and Frankie last year!!!! I loved that one so much!!!!
Sus says
There’s a new season releasing today!
Jae says
Just curious, have you been cleared to workout yet? Hoping you’re making a speedy and smooth recovery. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I have!! It feels good to get back into that normal routine 🙂 .
Kelsey Taylor says
I binged watched seasons 1&2 of Ames. Maisel. And am rewatching them now! Season 3? It’s taken me weeks to get through it. Didn’t love it at all…pretty bummed!
Kelsey Taylor says
Mrs Maisel….dumb autocorrect!
Colleen says
Agree with you 100% about Mrs Maisel! We are struggling to finish this season and definitely had higher expectations. Her father is my FAVORITE.
Mix and Match Mama says
MINE TOO!!!!!!!!
Liz says
I really liked season 3 of Mrs. Maisel. I don’t like that they are out of their apartment though. Can’t wait for S4!
Just finished the Man in the High Castle on Amazon. OMG, it’s SO good!!! It’s a must watch. Looking for new shows to binge now. Hope you’re feeling well!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve never heard of that??? I need to look it up!!
Ada says
I loved Mrs. Maisel. I discovered Virgin River season 1 on Netflix. It was great and it is from a book. Kind of reminds me of a Hallmark type show. Can’t wait for season 2.
Shakira says
Hi Shay,
I love your gold hoop earrings in the pic you posted with Madeley in the car. Could please tell me where I can purchase a pair? I love to get them. Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
They were a gift, but I know they’re Kendra Scott!
Caroline K says
I absolutely love Miss Ashby’s new haircut!!! What a darling little kiddo!
Melissa says
Hi Shay. I love you and your blog, but is there a way to get rid of the “next post” pop up in the lower right corner of the page? I find it very distracting and it also covers some of the content of the page. I could not find a way to close it. Just wanted to share since I know that you recently did some updates. Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
Let me check into that!!
Sarah says
Same response to Mrs. Maisel this season. Looking forward to season 4 in hope it gets back to some of the original storylines
Leslie Susan Clingan says
Love that Miss Ashby had such a special Gotcha Day with mom. Sushi and a mani-pedi sound like a slice of heaven to me. I am in El Paso and our weather has been about as crazy as yours. My daughter in Ft. Worth was in her closet under the stairs talking to me as the tornado sirens blared. We had rain, snow flurries and sun all in one day. But no puzzles to work.
Stacey Blackford says
Definitely was disappointed in MMM this season. It got more serious than I liked and was too short.
Mix and Match Mama says
I agree! Eight episodes is a tease!!!
Breanne says
I’m the youngest of five and my parents always joke I spent the first ten years of my life in the car- to this day I still like to go for a long drive when I’m stressed about something haha.
Mix and Match Mama says
This made me smile!!!
Heather Green says
what size are you wearing in the sweatshirt? Been looking for one like that!
