Here’s a little dinner idea that never made it to blog world, and I honest to goodness can’t think of a better time for me to hit “publish” as we need as many easy dinner ideas as possible right now. This isn’t even a recipe, it’s just an idea for your next simple supper (or easy appetizer!). It’s basically the Trader Joe’s Meatballs except instead of pepper jelly, you use grape jelly. See? Easy as that!
Here’s what you do…place two packages of meatballs inside your slow cooker (I love Trader Joe’s turkey meatballs), add in one jar of grape jelly along with about 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (we love Sweet Baby Ray’s). Cover and cook your meatballs on low about 5 hours. Then, when it is time for dinner, you can serve the meatballs on top of your favorite grain (like wild rice) with some chopped green onions or you can serve them alone as an easy appetizer.
See? Easy peasy!

have you found gluten free meatballs to use in this recipe?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t…which is why I was not posting it (because we’ve not found a frozen g-free meatball we love). If you find one, please let me know!!
Jaime says
We tried using these meatballs in your meatball Mozzarella bake. We thought they were actually good for being gluten free.

Not from scratch, but we’ve found several good ones for the freezer we can use!

You can also do grape jelly and a can of Coca-Cola. They’re so good.

Love that idea!!

This may sound like a strange question but do you hand wash your dutch oven or do you put it in the dish washer? I have always hand washed mine but I was curious if you had tried putting it in the dish washer.
Mix and Match Mama says
Dish washer!!! Works like a charm!

How funny!! We happened to make these last night in our slow-cooker but we use ketchup instead of BBQ sauce. We’ll have to try BBQ next time!

We do grape jelly & a bottle of chili sauce. Yum!

What kind of chili sauce? That sounds good!
