Happy FRIDAY, friends!
Every Friday in the fall, I turn on the Halloween Pandora Station and sing like a crazy person while my kids eat breakfast…they hate it. Bahaha! Think of me this morning…because I will be serenading them with their cereal 🙂 .
Just like every week, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika today and sharing some of my faves! I hope you all have the BEST weekend!! xo
Guys, I totally forgot to mention this last week…
…last Friday, I explained how we watch movies/TV out by our fire pit but forgot to share that we get our sound from…
I’ve mentioned this speaker many times before…it’s our favorite Bluetooth speaker for outdoors, traveling, by the beach…we love it! This is also what we use for sound when we play our movies outside. Andrew LOVES this so much, and I totally think this would make a great Christmas gift…especially for those hard to shop for people in your life!
Speaking of Christmas…
…you have seen me wear this robe approximately 6 billion times…
…because I wear it every single solitary day. I absolutely love this robe and once again, I think it would make an excellent holiday gift (it comes in many colors!). Add a pair of…
…slippers and you’re giving the coziest gift 🙂 .
Over the last 2 weeks, I’ve had so many of you tell me to start watching…
…Emily in Paris on Netflix…and I have and think it’s ADORABLE!!!!
Girls, this show is too, too cute! Now, it’s Darren Star (so it’s similar to Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex and the City), so make sure you’re aware of that, but so far (I’m on episode four), it’s really quite cute. It makes me want to eat a croissant and crank up my French Cafe Radio. If you’re looking for happiness in your life, here you go.
Speaking of which…
…as a family, we’ve been watching The Great British Baking Show which as also been so much fun! I love that it’s appropriate for kids of all ages but entertaining enough for adults too. Ashby asked me the other day if we could “make a sponge” which made me LOL. Cuteness overload!
One of THE most popular questions this week was…
…where did I get my star necklace? And honestly, I’m surprised it took so long for that to become a FAQ because I wear it almost daily. It’s super cute, light and easy to wear. Also, I wore that sweater again this week and love it so much that I’m considering buying it again in another color…
…along with those jeans and the bralette, it’s a regular on my rotation! I really do love, love, love it!
And finally, if you’re looking for a festive snack to make this weekend, here you go…
…it’s my Hocus Pocus Popcorn!
It’s the perfect little treat to eat while watching your favorite Halloween movie 🙂 . See the easy little method right HERE.
That’s it for this Friday! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! xo

I have heard so much about Emily in Paris! I’m going to have to watch. And holy moly that popcorn! Gonna have to make it! I make something similar at Christmastime for our teachers and friends. I use Chesters Puffcorn and coat it with white chocolate almond bark, lay it flat on wax paper and sprinkle it with red and green sprinkles! Teachers love it and ask for it all the time! So so good!!!

Talk about cuteness overload, what about Paul Hollywood??? I’m a very happily married woman but I just love that man! Those eyes…,my husband actually said “that is a very good looking man” hahahaha I do love that show, I binged every season this summer!

Ok….I have mentioned this before BUT ….for all the Paris lovers out there YOU MUST READ “PARIS LETTERS” by Janice MacLeod. An unexpected amazing find of a book. Its so good and so different. ITs not fiction but reads like one. Available on Amazon.
But my next piece of advice is don’t get it on kindle or kobo – the author is an artist and the artwork in the book is so good and a big part of the story in my mind.

I also turn on Pandora to our Halloween playlist and we listen to that while the kids get ready for school every morning in all through October ?

I loved Emily in Paris! My mom often buys me bathrobes and slippers for Christmas but I have to actually wear a bathrobe… like ever! I did buy one when I was pregnant thinking I’d need it for the hospital and I found a short light-weight one to bring with me when I had my surgery last month but didn’t end up using them then either.

Another super cute AMAZING show that I recently discovered is 800 Words! It totally reminds me of Gilmore Girls except it’s a newly widowed dad and his teenage son and daughter relocating from Australia to a small village by the ocean in New Zealand. It’s got the quirky characters and feel good story lines and is just SO GOOD!!!
MELISSA A DOHERTY says
Is Emily in Paris family friendly, like, would it be ok to watch with my 12 year old daughter? More like 90210 than Sex in the City?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would probably say no. I’m not going to watch it with Kensington and she’s 12.
Michelle Bynum says
How often do you wash your robe? Wash on hot or cold? Hang to dry? The reason I ask is that my youngest has barefoot dreams lovies and after years of washing and drying, they have lost their softness and “fluff”. Thank you!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I wash it every week at some point. I’ll just toss it in there one morning when the load isn’t super full. I really think it feels even better today than before!
Jennifer Scott says
Another Darren Star show that is totally binge-worthy is Younger, starring Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff. It’s on Prime Video and has 6 season. It’s cute, funny and super easy to watch. Happy Halloween?
Annaliese says
Odd question but your a travel expert! Do you have any fall trip recommendations for New England?? I’m trying to pick a spot for a quick Anniversary trip with my hubby. I have no clue which town/city to choose! Thanks for any help. ?
Mix and Match Mama says
I should be asking YOU! You live in Connecticut! 🙂
Anna says
Portland, ME or Woodstock, VT!!! Enjoy!
WhittyWife says
New Englander here! Obviously Boston is gorgeous, as is Newburyport outside of Boston. I always love the Berkshires and the cozy little towns in that area. We just spent the long holiday weekend in Freeport, Maine, and the foliage is gorgeous! Camden and Bar Harbor, Maine are both beautiful coastal towns with lots of foliage. Sunday River area in Maine is so cozy, as is North Conway, New Hampshire. We’re headed to Stowe, VT in November for a Fall getaway before the holiday season. ?
Cathy Carter says
What color is your robe? ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Mine is the “light gray/white”
Tan Ya says
So if your loving Emily in Paris you need to watch Younger on Prime. ?
Nancy says
Hey friend!
I was browsing through the books at Target tonight and saw “The Twelve Dates of Christmas” by Jenny Bayliss and immediately thought of you. It definitely seems like a Shay Shull book; England, chick-flick, Christmas, Hallmark-ish category, you gotta read it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Just added that to my Amazon list!! Thank YOU!
Kristi says
You said your family eats out on the weekends, do you eat out for lunch too?
Mix and Match Mama says
That depends on what time of year…what we’re doing. Sometimes, we’ll eat a nice brunch at home, sometimes, we’re eating on the run between games, it really depends. Last Saturday, we went to brunch on our square in lieu of breakfast or lunch at home…but we didn’t have games, so we had time.
Kristi says
Love that! So does no one eat anything until brunch?!
Mix and Match Mama says
It depends, if my peeps are hungry, they’ll eat a yogurt/bar or something but for the most part, yes, they’d wait until brunch.
Beth says
I highly recommend “Somebody Feed Phil” on Netflix. It’s food, travel, and fun – one of the best shows I’ve seen. Whole family can watch.
Kadie says
I love your Friday Favorites posts! I’m going to have to give Emily in Paris a try. Happy Sunday!
Nicole says
What are your go to side salads for dinner? Do you buy kits or make them? I need ideas!
Mix and Match Mama says
A variety! I think Trader Joe’s has some great kits (I add cherry tomatoes to almost all of them though), my family really loves a caesar (super easy to make) and we do a lot of Greek salads too (with peppers, feta, red onion, tomato, pepperoncini).
Nicole says
Awesome!! Thanks! I just picked up some today! What is your go to Caesar salad dressing?
Mix and Match Mama says
Right now, I’ve been using Annie’s and then sometimes on mine, I’ll add a dash of Frank’s Hot Sauce for an extra kick!
