Happy Halloween Eve Eve Eve Eve!!
I am so excited because today, I’m partnering with one of my VERY favorite brands SEPHORA and ShopStyle and bringing you a fun sponsored post with all of my October faves!
You girls know that I’m a Sephora super-fan, so this was an easy post for me to get excited about…and bonus, it’s a SUPER-SIZED EDITION! I have not one but TWO videos for you (one makeup, the other hair) so that you can really see me using these products.
I really get giddy over beauty 🙂 .
Okay, here I am ready to conquer the day now that I have my hair and makeup done thanks to a few new Sephora products along with a great curling wand too.
I wanted you to really catch my enthusiasm and see me apply some of my faves from this month…
…so I made a little video! Watch it below to see me apply many of these products plus specifically explain why I’m loving NARS Jumbo Orgasm Blush, Mini Orgasm Double Duo, Mini Iconic Matte Revolution Lipstick Trio, Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette, Lancome’s Grandiose Mascara, and Point Made 24-Hour Gel Eyeliner.
I don’t know about you, but for me, it really helps to see a video. If you can’t watch right now, here’s a little breakdown of these favorite products for October…
#1 Mini Orgasm Double Duo: I’ve raved about this blush for YEARS, so when I saw this fun little duo that included not only the cult-classic Orgasm blush but a highlighter too, I was sold!
#2 Speaking of which, this NARS Jumbo Orgasm Blush was a no-brainer for me! I will try other blushes from time to time, but for years (I would say over 10!) this blush here has always been the one I go back to time and time again, so this larger size made me so happy!
#3 Point Made 24-Hour Gel Eyeliner: My friend Shanna and I talk about our latest finds at Sephora every single week. She was raving the other day about a new eyeliner that she had recently tried and loved. I literally handed her my phone with the Sephora app open and asked her to please look it up for me (because she was gushing!). I was so pleased with the price point, that I added to cart and have been using ever since. I have been VERY loyal to my eyeliner and hesitant to try anything else, but this one goes on extremely smooth, stays all day and doesn’t smudge.
#4 Speaking of Shanna, she is the one who I proclaimed is the Perfume Queen! Last year, she introduced me to Replica’s By The Fireplace, and I love it so much for fall and winter that I’m already on my second travel-sized bottle. I like these smaller bottles for fun scents like this one that I don’t wear year around. It’s woodsy and very “winter”.
#5 You know how much I adore THIS eyeshadow palette, so I was excited to try this new Natural Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. These are perfect neutrals for keeping things simple or layering for a more dramatic affect.
#6 After I started using Drunk Elephant’s A-Passioni Retinol Cream, many of you told me to try their T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, so I did. I have been alternating them at night before applying my evening moisturizer and really think I see a difference already with dark spots and uneven skin tones. This is one of those brands YOU are always telling me to explore more often!
#7 In the video, I showed you how cute this Mini Iconic Matte Revolution Lipstick Trio really is. These lipsticks are the perfect size for pockets, small handbags and throwing in your purse. Plus, they’re all three great fall/winter shades.
#8 This Lancome’s Grandiose Mascara is another Shanna suggestion! I’ve been on the hunt for the best mascara since last December and not only Shanna but my mother-in-law both told me to try this one. The unique wand really helps you get in there and grab all of those tiny little lashes.
#9 And I couldn’t talk Sephora without reminding you that I’m OBSESSED with these Melted Matte liquid lipsticks. I wear them now every single day. They stay on all day long…and don’t rub off on my mask. Into You is my new fave.
#10 And finally, it’s always good to top off a matte lipstick with some gloss throughout the day. How pretty and perfect is this Jewel Lip Gloss in Pillow Talk? It goes great with that mini lipstick trio too!!
As always, I use this Caviar Stick in Blossom as my “primer” before applying my eye shadow.
NARS Jumbo Orgasm Blush and Mini Orgasm Double Duo
Also, here’s a good comparison to the size difference between the two new NARS blush options.
And if you wanted an up close pic of the Mini Iconic Matte Revolution Lipstick Trio , here you go!
Now, I’m not super loyal to primers and often try a variety and share them here…but every single time I do, YOU GUYS tell me to try this one…
…so I did, and I love it! There are several Laura Mercier primers to chose from at Sephora, but this illuminating one here really spoke to me. It’s a win!!
One more thing that’s a win…
…I can’t rave enough about my Bum Bum Cream. I’ve mentioned it a million times on here because it is my very favorite body cream. It’s hydrating, it’s not greasy, and it smells like heaven. Right now, they have an even larger bottle just in time for the dry winter months. PLUS…
Laneige My Lip Sleeping Mask//Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm//Brazillian Kiss
…do I need to say more?! These three lip moisturizers are clearly winners at my house. I love all three and always have one in my desk drawer, my purse, in my bathroom and by my bed.
So, that was makeup. Now, I wanted to show you this speedy little video of me curling my hair with Drybar’s The Wrap Party Styling Wand…
I love a hair wand because they’re super easy to use and you don’t have to fuss with clamps. If you’re not holding the wand just right, you can still produce a curl…they really are pretty fool-proof. I love an easy little wave in my hair, so I made a quick video showing you how I achieve it with this tool here…
It’s easy, it’s quick, it’s little fuss, it’s how I’ve been curling my hair lately.
At night, I wash my hair, comb it out and then spray this Drybar Seashore Spritzer on it while damp. I go to sleep and the next morning, I use my Drybar Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush to smooth things over before applying my Olaplex oil and curling. After I curl, I set everything with Money Maker.
A little makeup, some hair, and we’re good to go! I love shopping at Sephora whether instore or online. They have everything I need for beauty all in one place…and bonus, I love being a member of their Beauty Insider Program! There are so many perks just for signing up to be a part of it…Beauty Insider Cash (to apply towards future orders), free standard shipping with no minimum and so much more! It makes shopping Sephora even easier!
I’m going to get a list together of holiday gift ideas from Sephora to share soon. If you have any new faves I should try next, please comment and let me know! Have the best day, friends!

Hi! Is your Sephora shopping new? I thought you got most of your beauty products at Nordstrom? Did something change or anything about their service why you made the switch? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
Nope! I would say my beauty products have always been split between the two about 50/50!
Lauren Priddle says
You tried a new eyeliner??!? This one must be good! ?
Elspth says
Your look is so polished and put together but looks so easy to! Thanks for sharing your secrets!!!

I keep hearing about the Brazilian BB cream and I have yet to try it! Also love a good Sephora haul, I’m such a makeup junkie too!

I love your beauty posts-so fun! So for me at 45, the most life changing skin cream I’ve yet tried is Ole Henriksen Truth C-Rush Brightening gel cream. I got some samples at Sephora and it made such a huge difference I went back and bought a tub. Now, I’d like to buy gallons at a time! I put it on at night under my overnight cream and it literally makes my skin GLOW. And it has helped completely clear my complexion as well. I had pretty clear skin, but it took it to the next level. I can’t recommend enough. Plus it has this amazing faint orange smell that makes me look forward to using it. Hands down the best Sephora product I’m using now! I actually don’t even need BB cream or foundation anymore because my skin already looks like I’m wearing something!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, looking that up RIGHT NOW!!

If you hadn’t mentioned the BumBum cream, I would have told you to try it! I love it too 🙂

Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! A white pencil from Lancome.

Wondering if you’re still liking the wave tool that you were using to style your hair for a little while or if you’ve decided you prefer this wand and other tools instead?
Have a great day!
Mix and Match Mama says
I do!! I would say I rotate using them every other time.

I love this post! Could you do any updated skin care post? I would love to see what you use day and night, plus any dermatologist treatments you’re getting? I love those kind of posts!!❤️

That Laneige sleeping mask is my absolute favorite lip balm I’ve EVER used. I’ve never tried others beyond vanilla, but I think I’m on my third jar already. And the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is sooooooooooo good! I’ve never been a huge fan of those Melted lipsticks, but I might have to look again… especially with the 20% off Sephora code that begins Friday!
Deej says
I have the same palette! It is amazing 🙂 Important question though, where is your top from?! Love me a cheetah print!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s from right here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2020/10/home-for-the-holidays-2/

You need to try the Lancome Cils Booster primer before your mascara…life changing!

Yes!! I love this stuff too!! Give me all the beauty products!!

❤️ this! I am an eyeshadow palette junkie also. I don’t know if you’ve tried Pat McGrath Labs but those are incredible! I love the Bronze Ambition one. Also a huge fan of Huda Beauty and the New Nude (pink nude shades) and Desert Dusk palette.
Since you are using that eyeshadow as a primer, I would also recommend Huda Beauty’s Matte and Melted eyeshadow. I use the Matte side of double pump latte pretty much every day.
It’s skin care but I also have recently purchased the Saturday Skin Yusuf vitamin C sleep mask and love it. I use Drunk Elephants C firma day serum and have for years.
And thank you for your recommendation on the melted lipstick-got mine in a few weeks ago and it’s becoming a favorite.?
It’s so fun to talk about Sephora isn’t it?! One of my favorite things!!
Lauren says
Love it! Could you also do a video about how you do your daily up do / bun?
Bridget B. says
Hi Shay! Love your blog! It’s become a tradition of mine to start my day with a hot cup of coffee and your blog before I begin work. Thoughts on The Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush? Do you use it or does anyone you know use it? I’ve been debating whether or not I should take the plunge and get one!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love it. I use it almost every morning after I wash my hair. I really and truly love it!
Mary says
Thanks for posting the videos…so fun to watch! Your hair and makeup look beautiful as always! Can’t wait to try the LM primer ?.
Kristen says
This has nothing to do with this post but I just got the Barefoot Dreams robe and absolutely love it! It’s so soft and feels like I’m wrapped in a blanket. Thanks for the recommendation!
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!!! I’m literally wearing mine RIGHT NOW!!!
Sheaffer Sims says
So many great beauty picks!
Sarah says
I just bought so many things you posted!! ? Okay, so I’m trying to pick up some of your eating habits and mindset from your post the other week…I’m struggling with not eating after dinner. Do you ever?! Or do you just get used to not? Any tips? Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I really just don’t eat after dinner, BUT what if you pre-portioned something small to snack on? Like popcorn or a sweet cereal or something?
Sarah says
Great idea, thanks so much!! If you ever indulge in candy or anything sweet like that, where does that usually fit in to your day? Thanks so much Shay!!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m not really a sweets person, but I’m really not a candy person. If I were to indulge, for me, it’s typically in the afternoon!
Dana says
I love your video posts! Have you ever tried doing more coats of mascara? I started doing 3 coats a few years ago and it made all the difference for me! Spoiler alert though- probably why I have to use so much eye makeup remover. 🙂 I don’t have the thickest or longest lashes though so I really prefer the way it looks. I was also wondering- do you still do face treatments? I’m wondering if they could prevent having to use makeup? I have melasma that seems to be getting worse and am wondering if it would be more cost effective to invest in that rather than makeup and skincare?
Mix and Match Mama says
I stopped doing chem peels and microderm and now, I do 2 or 3 IPLs a year instead. I think you get way more bang for your buck doing that!!
Tiff says
Thanks Shay! I know what to look out for during Black Friday.
That Laneige lip mask is a total LIFESAVER.
