Q&A with Andrew and Shay!


Hey friends!  In honor of Valentine’s week, it’s another Q&A with Andrew and Shay 🙂 .

Last week, I asked on Stories what questions you had for us, and then we sat down one night on the patio and had a little speed round of sorts answering many of them.  We talk about everything from what drives Andrew absolutely crazy about me (something besides socks…), how we split up chores and finances, who are favorite Lowe is (Andrew answers incorrectly here…ha!), do we ever fight, how we keep up with laundry and much more!

    Super cute video of you two. Listening to you both made me realize that my husband and I are very much like you all–he’s “handsy” too! 🙂 Our love languages are different and so are our enneagram numbers, but the way we handle things and the fact that I do all the laundry is definitely the same! Maybe you and Andrew could do more of these videos and break it down by topics–questions that all fall within the same category??

    At first, when you asked Andrew who is favorite “Lowe” was, I thought he meant J-Lo!!! trying to be funny. haha Not Jay Lowe. I’d never thought about Jay Lowe sounding the same as J-Lo until then. haha ! Have a great day.

      They’re light up letters off of Etsy. I need to find the exact shop to share. And that’s the Halogen tank from Nordstrom, just a different type!

    Shay – I’m in the process of building a house and I love your closet. What kind of lighting did you do use under your shelving in your closet? Is the shelving lighting switch separate from your chandelier?

      I’m sure it has a technical name, but it’s almost like tape that has lights all along it. It comes in a big roll like tape.

    Shay! My husband is the SAME way about his toothpaste! This probably isn’t what you do, but apparently I had a habit of not screwing the lid on as tightly as he did and it drove him crazy?! We now each have our own tube of Crest. ?

    You should read The Road Back To You by Ian Cron to learn more about the enneagram and your type! It’s a great start to learning more. I love that you and Andrew are both eights, and I don’t think that’s surprising at all!! My husband and I are both ones, and I feel like that’s kinda similar to two eights… but it’s lots of fun!

    If it’s any consolation, all four of us in our home each use our own toothpaste brand and container. Andrew, I can relate LOL. Nobody messes with each other’s toothpaste. ?

    So cute! My husband has the same issues with the toothpaste! Not a big deal in our new bathroom as we have completely separate vanities but when we travel he always has to have his own! And, I bought that sweater when you posted last week, wore it yesterday! LOVE IT.

    Two notes:
    -I’m with Andrew and I rarely say that. Let him have his own toothpaste LOL!!!
    -The cocktail you have with Fresca (in place of club soda) is soooooooo good

    I will never forget when you said a few years ago that one of your pet peeves was someone swatting a fly when you eat. bahahahah EVERY time I do swat a fly from my plate or my husbands if we are outside eating somewhere or in a restaurant I get so tickled b/c I think of you…but I still can’t help myself from doing this.. I also agree with Andrew.. my husband takes my toothpaste from my side nearly every morning and I want to say please open the closet and grab you a tube of toothpaste!! hahahahaha I don’t say this but I want to 🙂

    You should make this a regular thing! It’s so fun to see your responses. And Andrew and my husband are so similar it’s hilarious. The only difference is that he wouldn’t care if I used his toothpaste, that would be me! I’ve said the same thing to Ryan-I will buy you whatever kind of toothpaste you want, just don’t take mine! ?

    That was so cute! I loled at the toothpaste thing because until recently my husband and I always shared toothpaste so I really just cannot wrap my mind around why he cares. The only time it was an issue was if one of us had to travel and we only had the one big toothpaste haha.

Just fyi from a mom of six and a mimi of 11 (and counting!) those sweet kiddos of yours will leave one day BUT they will come back with spouses and children, keep that in mind when shopping for your next home:). Also, I loved hearing Andrew talk (no offense, Shay, I love hearing you talk as well) because he sounds very much like my son in law (whom I adore) who is from Kansas. Never realized that Kansas had an accent:).
