It’s a very special post today!
At the beginning of the year, I asked you girls what you wanted to see more of on my blog and the number one thing was MORE ANDREW!
Ha!
You ladies love it when Andrew stops by and says hi, so today, he’s sharing “A Day in the Life”.
Full disclosure: I wanted to micromanage this because…well…I’m an Enneagram 8, and that’s what we do, but I didn’t. I turned the blog over to Andrew today, so I hope you like it! If you don’t, I will give you his email and you can address it with him. 😉
Thank you, Andrew! Love you!
Announcement…It’s amateur hour on the blog today! I have a few disclaimers before I start just to make sure we are all on the same page. 🙂
- I am not a blogger, English professor, nor do I have a degree in journalism. Therefore, I ask you to excuse all typos and rambling boredom I provide.
- All photos were taken either wearing a mask, or following CDC guidelines for social distancing. Please don’t send me a comment regarding that issue.
- If I get on my soapbox I promise, I will quickly step off. I can’t remember the last time I got a chance to post so I have a lot of things to say……HA!
Let’s go! 4 am wakeup call. Yes it’s early, yes I get tired, blah, blah, blah. I turn 40 this week, so being the old man that I am, sleeping long hours in the bed just aren’t going to happen. More to follow on that topic and I guarantee you it’s not what you think it is about.
Been doing this for a year with different guys. This plan is the One Year Chronological Plan for reading the Bible.
On this day something stuck out that I feel called to share with you. In 2 Samuel 9, we read about King David and his kindness for Saul’s grandson, Jonathan’s son. On this morning this is how I tried to apply it to my life. Trust me when I say this, I am the first one to say I am a sinner, not perfect, saved by the grace of Jesus.
Jonathan was one of David’s best friends. They had a deep love for each other. Saul on the other hand, pursued David and tried to kill him time and time again. Saul used his troops to chase David all over the place. In 1 Samuel, we read about Saul trying to kill David at almost every turn. In previous chapters (after David becomes King and after Saul’s death), we read about David conquering thousands of people in battle. Imagine the responsibility and time it took for him to be King of Israel. David was a man with a mission! And yet we think we are busy?!
In today’s world you can be hated for anything. You can be hated for your skin color, political support, mask/no mask, faith, something you say, or don’t say in social media, even the #OOTD (I think I did that right)….etc. The littlest of things can set people off. The question I have to ask myself is this, “Is any of the things I deal with on a daily basis worse than how David was treated by Saul?”. Am I busier than King David? Hint….the answer is a big fat NO! No matter what happens, no matter the negativity or hate, the comment on social media, the dirty look, I am to show kindness to others who mistreat me. I am to show the love of Jesus. Here we have David, a man after God’s own heart, showing us how to live. The other question I thought about was this. Did he just do a one-time act of kindness? Nope! We go on to read that Mephibosheth ate at the King’s table regularly. It actually says, like one of the king’s own sons. David took Saul’s hate, replaced it with his love for Jonathan, and made the decision to offer kindness too Mephibosheth. And finally one last thought. Twice in the story we read that Mephibosheth and how he was crippled in both feet. I am sure mobility was a problem for Mephibosheth. I am sure David’s decision effected many other people. Imagine the example David gave to Israel and David’s family. Am I being the example that I want my kids, employees, friends to see? Am I showing kindness when faced with even a small amount of hate or negativity? I am NEVER too busy to be kind. What our world needs now more than anything is Jesus. Plain and simple. I encourage you to read the Bible. If you want a printed copy ask Shay and we will send you one. Or you can download the Bible app.
During my QT I had a some oatmeal with protein and coffee. Now off to the gym, but before I go I get to say bye to this person already working at 5 am. I am so happy she finally has a work space to call her own. It’s quiet, out of the way, and considering I get to “go” to my office everyday, I can totally understand having your own space. I keep telling her I am going to be her co-worker and work from home more, but she hasn’t been sold on that idea yet. Most things are done virtually anyway, for both of us with our clients, so it only makes sense, right?! Who is with me?! Pipe in a little Starland Vocal band, and we are in business! HAHAHA!
I had some flowers that I bought the night before and I needed to unload and haul off some trash. Planting those flowers and fern before I go to work.
You have all met Ty before. We have worked out together for over 10 years.
I only show this video for a couple of reasons. A little over a year ago, as you already know, I blew my bicep and extensor tendons at the elbow. I was limited to lift less than 5 lbs. of weight for 6 months. Interestingly enough, I tore the top of that biceps tendon in college, and had it repaired. What I am finding, is that the older I get more things have started to pop-up. I am a regular at the Carrell Clinic here in Dallas. My low back has always been an issue. It’s the reason I had to hang up my cleats (that and the amount of talent in the NFL was far above my pay grade). I am always blown away by O-line and D-line players that play 10+ years. It is truly incredible. One of these days I will have a spinal fusion for a slipped vertebrae. As for now, that problem gives me a ton of numbness in my right leg, but I manage the pain and move on. Right now the issue is my right hand. At night when I lay down, it keeps going numb (the reason why I don’t lay in bed for a long time). I know it is something with my neck, but considering it’s not all the time, I just deal with it. Thus, this is why I work out 7 days a week. I find the more mobile I am in the a.m., the less pain I have throughout the day. I posted that video to show two things. 1. The human body is really amazing in it’s healing power. I thought I was never going to be normal again. 2. I may be almost 40, but I can still push the same amount of weight I could when I was 25. Ha!
Picking up some odds and ends. This isn’t some score boarding thing on the flowers. Yes, I buy MMM flowers for the kitchen every week. Which one should I get?
I liked the yellow ones! And then other odds and ends. Milk for Smith, water for me!
Everyone knows my passion for the The Ticket here in Dallas, but since they are on Spring Break this week, I jump over to McKinney’s own Elvis Duran on Z100 out of New York!
Another random stop at the Home Depot for a project I am working on later in the week. I always try to get my chores done early in the am.
Head home real quick to get these sleepy heads out of bed with Shay. I always make sure I get to see Smith, Ashby, and Madeley before they go off to school, and before I jump on some cardio.
Hop on the stair mill. I only do the Peloton once a week for cardio, and because it’s a beatdown. I get on there and try to compete with the world and my lungs are on fire at the end. The other days I spend between 30-40 minutes on the stair mill. I can turn on a show and do intervals all day. I am always watching some documentary on Netlflix/Prime, or some series. It makes the intervals fly by. I just got into Below Deck, and am working my way through. For the life of me I can’t figure out why anyone would want to be a guest on the ship. They are always getting ripped on TV. Brutal to watch. It’s great TV though. I think I like seeing them work on the boat, and enjoy seeing the food more than anything. Shay asked me what it would take to be on the show. I told her Andy Cohen himself would to call me personally and offer $1,000,000 an episode. That goes for any Bravo show. Her number was actually higher! BAHAHAHAHAHA.
Just doing a little work and getting caught up on things. Anyone recognize this office? I am loving having my own quiet space to work. I am thinking we should repaper with Yankees pinstripes wallpaper.
Breakfast ready to go. Have to hurry! I noted the time it took me to prepare and eat breakfast. I love breakfast! 9 minutes.
Popped my lunch in the air fryer.
All ready to go!
Picture with one of my employees/friends. It’s hard not to work with someone for 7+ years and not become really close. This is Adriano, he is my bro!
I always eat lunch at my desk. Need to maximize my time. Literally takes me 1 min anyway! (That’s what she said)
Next, look who I got to eat lunch with! The Mades! I surprised her and sat with her during her lunch at school.
Late in the day off to baseball practice. I am not a coach, but help out where I can. Hitting fly balls to the outfield today!
After my job is done I get to watch in the peanut gallery!
Head home with Smith. I call my parents pretty much every day. My dad and mom were both on this call!
Due to the ice storm in February, I lost 33 plants that needed to be replanted. I was checking out the new Dwarf Yaupons. Speaking of the storm…..other than that, we were very blessed to have only lost all of our pool pumps and heater. I say only due to the fact I have at least 70 claims ongoing in my office for busted pipes. Some were entire first floors filled with water. After this past summer, I have a whole new perspective and empathy.
And the Tulips Smith’s sweet violin teacher gave us. She gave us the bulbs to plant in the fall.
MMM making beefy mushroom pasta. It’s a fan favorite at our house!
Eating outside with the crew, trying to soak up the weather.
Then K offers me a gluten free chocolate chip cookie. She has a secret to the recipe. She adds a ton of Vanilla! How could I refuse!?
Madeley wanted a post dinner snuggle so I am all in!
I absolutely love 2 things in this photo…..the girls playing and drawing with chalk and the fact they know not to do it on the colored concrete. HA!
Back outside to do some chores before I wind down. Smith flexing in the window.
Time for Algebra and 6th grade math. I love math!!
Started watching Hop with the girls after homework. She is always playing hard to get!
Hello my name is Andrew and I like watching Bravo. Not sure what to tell you. Especially this time of the year when it’s basketball only. NOT A FAN OF THE BASKETBALL. Sorry! During baseball season I usually multi-task and have the Yankee game pulled up on my phone. During football, Cowboys reign supreme. For me Summer House is my favorite, but Below Deck is probably at second right now. Love sitting down with Shay and finishing the day.
Time for bed! Here I am tucking the girls into bed. These days I am a lion or a tiger and tickle them until they turn blue. I am a dad, what can I say.
Smith likes to eat before he goes to bed. Milk, hot pocket and the boy is set.
I started the kids on this show last week. Kensington loves Sister, Sister. I think Will Smith is hilarious in Fresh Prince too. I can also sing the full lyrics to the opening title. Anyone else?
A little King of Queens in the background while I get ready for bed. MMM always like to have background noise!
My nighttime snack.
Last photo before bed. Two scars in that photo. On my shoulder you can see the scar from my shoulder repair from KSU. The other is on my massive forehead. BAHAHAHAHAHA. I got a cut on there my senior year of high school. Every time I practiced or played in a game it would get ripped open. Blood would pour down my face. I am sure it looked cool, but I have had that scar for 23 years. The other thing I notice is MMM earrings. Not going to lie, I don’t care if the whole world said they hated them…..I think they are super sexy (especially when they aren’t bleeding). And guess what…. only my opinion matters! HA!
Shay reads, and I watch a little more TV. I hope to finish the Enneagram book by 2023…??♂️
Bedtime.
Hopefully you stuck around for the end! I will leave you with this. I did a lot of running around on this day. Some days I have are like that. Could I have worked more, or gotten more knocked off my to-do list? Of course. One of the reasons I decided to open a State Farm office was because I wanted to control my own schedule. No one at the end of their life ever says I wished I would have worked more, made more money, spent more time doing to-do lists. It’s always, I wish I would have spent more time with my family. I have been there many times, and heard it. So for me, if I have to work a few more years, or maybe don’t max out my earnings one year, I always tell myself this. Don’t have any regrets with Shay, or the kids. Spend as much time, invest as much energy as you can into them. (Side note- I have like the best staff in the world who steer the ship for me when I get busy-love you all). God has blessed us more than I ever imagined, and I am so thankful Shay gets to show you a little window into our world.
Thank you for letting me share my day with you!
Thank YOU, Andrew!!! Love you so much!!! xx

Erika Slaughter says
I’m impressed, Andrew! You did GREAT with this whole blogging thing. Why are you not here more?
Pam says
What a great read for a Monday morning! Loved all of it. Thank you!
Lauren says
So impressive! The amount of stuff you get done in a day makes me look like a bum. Granted I have two young kiddos at home so as long as they are healthy, happy, and safe I’m okay with less checked off my list. ? Thanks for sharing a little snapshot of your life with us Andrew!
Carrie Diekmann says
My husband and I are nearing 40 and we started going to the chiropractor last year. My husband’s arm would fall asleep every night when he slept. My lower back hurt a lot. The chiropractor has made a huge difference in the way we feel. Just in case Andrew would want to give it a shot. ?
Shelly says
What a great message / reminder… we are never too busy to be kind! Thanks for the pep talk and reminder!
Also, smith appears to be a kid after my own heart… I don’t like my food to touch on my plate… gosh I know it’s weird… based on his plates he appears to be the same! {knuckles smith}!
Alice H says
I’m a 38 year old woman that loves a kid plate with dividers so my food doesn’t touch lol
Shelly Powers says
Girl after my own heart! I love a divided plate too! ?

Andrew, we love when you are on Shay’s blog. I actually use the Echo Prayer App because of a previous post you did on here. I love it! Thank you for sharing today. Grass certainly doesn’t grow under your feet. Both of you always set the example to “Seize the Day!” and constantly focus on faith, family, and friends. Can’t think of a better message for all to read! Happy Birthday Week!

I lol’d so many times reading this! Thanks for the post Andrew (and Shay)!
Kristi says
I want to be Andrew when I grow up. Haha! Does he usually modify your dinners and skip the carbs? And is that whole salad his!!? Ha!!
Mix and Match Mama says
The entire salad is his and there are some noodles under that giant pile of beefy mushroom sauce. He modifies it in his own way…which is more protein, more protein, more protein.
Jane Lemoine says
There are so many wise nuggets in this! Thanks for sharing, Andrew!
Julie Hicks says
Really enjoyed getting a peek into your schedule – admirable for sure. One thing – does Shay hate when you sing the Fresh Prince theme song as much as my husband does when I sing it? (I do have to sing it extra loud – that could be part of it).
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not…I sing it with him! Bahaha! Our kids totally hate it though!
Mary Straus says
Shay,
Great post by Andrew. I couldn’t help notice but did you get a new air fryer?? I like how you can see inside. I currently own a Phillips like you had, but I disliked that it didn’t have two shelves, plus you couldn’t see inside. Please share the brand of yours. Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh goodness, so funny that you mentioned this because at one point last week, I told Erika that the air fryer debate might end our marriage. Bahahaha! Andrew bought a new one…with two shelves and put my other one out to give away to a friend/donate. I about lost my mind on him and made him dig out the other one because it’s in great shape and I LOVE IT! His new one is terrible. It’s messy, you can’t just “throw” things in there, it’s so hard to clean but he insists it’s better. I am confident he hates it too but is just too proud to admit it. Ha! We’re currently using two until he comes to his senses and then, we’ll donate his 😉 .
Amy says
I absolutely love the blog today. But THIS, this made my day!!! I had tears in my eyes laughing! Hope he comes to his senses very soon, have a great week!
Mix and Match Mama says
Seriously, I thought I might kill him with said air fryer as the weapon of choice. 😉
Lauren Sheaffer Sims says
We are never too busy to be kind. Great message today and every day! Shay, I think you should start farming out monthly blog posts! 🙂

While I absolutely adore Shay and all of her blog posts….Andrew, you hit this one out of the park, like an Aaron Judge monster home run. Your post was filled with a whole lot of goodness, realness, humor (that’s what she said will never, ever get old ?), and more. I ❤️ the Shull family!!! PS: Hope you and Shay enjoy opening day baseball on Thursday. I can’t wait. ☺️☺️☺️

I love this post! Thanks, Andrew! Shull’s, I love the way your family loves, works, and plays. Hope y’all have a great week!

Hi Andrew! Have you ever looked in to taking Pilates reformer classes to help with prior back and shoulder injuries? I work in the medical field and highly recommend them. The Pilates reformer machines helped veterans with injuries while serving our country with great results any many professional athletes do Pilates reformer for injuries as well. Have a great day.
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t heard of that, but it sounds great. I have a slipped vertebrae at L4/L5 and no disk in between. That seems to be the issue. I will have to check this out!-Andrew

So fun to hear about “the other half” of MMM! I’m glad you shared your injury issues. I tore my ACL 12/20 skiing Jackson Hime and surgery was 1/25/21. For a 10+ ski days a year this was mentally devastating. My season needed abruptly. I’m in the long road to full recovery. I too have to keep going and keep working out for my mental health. PT every morning at 4:30, weights, and I’m now cleared to elliptical/bike/treadmill again! Your story is an inspiration!
Mix and Match Mama says
Been there, done that…..but you will be back before you know it! Hope you have a fast recovery!-Andrew

I really appreciate Andrew’s outlook on life. I’d love to hear more about his childhood/growing up the farm and how it’s taught him to have such a great work ethic!
Dana Abney says
You made me LOL with the comment about her earrings being sexy (especially when they aren’t bleeding). Baaahahaha! I needed that laugh this morning.

Thank you for sharing your day! I really enjoyed your bible study thoughts and reading a bit of your philosophy on work and family. And I laughed out loud with your “that’s what she said” side comment, haha! A thoughtful and funny blog post!

Tracy W Doubts says
Love, love Andrew Posts, thank you!! Yes, I can recite the lyrics to Fresh Prince also…great show. Can either you or Shay recommend a bible version, one that is easy to follow?
Mix and Match Mama says
We love the YouVersion app! You can easily change the version as you read. Right now, I’ve been really enjoying the CB version but NLT is my all-time fave.
Stephanie Shurack says

And Andrew reminds me So much of my husband Brandon especially after this post- 1.) I don’t know of anyone else (until now) who plants plants in a.m. before work. 2.) sidewalk chalk. My 2 girls just did sidewalk chalk yesterday and my husband said as long as it doesn’t get there with a smile bc he knows it drives me crazy how OCD he can be at times. Love the post Andrew! Its nice to get a guys’ perspective on things. 2 questions….
Where do you buy your flowers? I live in the area.
What is the nickname MMM mean?

Loved this look into Andrew’s day. Thanks for sharing. There were so many great nuggets in here. I need to know about that ginormous monitor in Shay’s old office, now Andrew’s office.

Love the Andrew post! He always makes me laugh, but as a Hoosier I have to say WHATTTT? To the disliking basketball!? LOL
Carly says
Andrew- Great job 2 suggestions. Take this opportunity and platform to do something in this form quarterly with a message or scripture as the theme from a hubby/male perspective. We all can learn and you can reach people and make a difference then it’s worth it all day long everyday. You were the smart guy who married Shay so use the readers to reach people even if it’s just occasionally. Second on the physical pain issues you deal with I have a suggestion of someone that will make a big difference in your life/body and provide insight you may not be aware of. Take the time and effort make an appointment and drive to Southlake and see Dr. Jerrod Wright at Curis Functional Health(used to be 180 Wellness) 817-488-4186. He is the best chiropractor, singularly the best hands and knowledge of your body in the business. He is also the Texas Rangers chiropractor and works on Dallas Cowboy players as well. I say this to provide you with the perspective that he knows injuries and athlete’s bodies. He is a Christian and runs a great practice and is a wonderful man. I don’t live in Southlake or Texas any longer but is so skilled I literally have gotten on a plane in multiple states we lived in to fly back to DFW, rent a car, drive to Southlake to see him for treatment. He is that good, that knowledgeable of your body and injuries. He always delivered, taught me much and helped when no one else or medical doctor did. It is worth every minute of your time to go see him, have him look at the old injury and current issues and see if he can change or make a difference in your physical shape or lessen pain or symptoms until the time comes for surgeries, it will be life changing. I saw him for 5 years, you will not be disappointed. He has others in the practice they are good as well, especially Dr. Wade Parkhill. But for your purposes you need Dr. Wright and only him to adjust you and treat you. Thanks for letting me share my 2 cents!
Lynnette B. says
I just love this so much, such a beautiful family. Andrew, you did amazing and I look forward to more of these in the future!
Angie says
I have a lot of numbing down my left arm and hand. I went to the doctor recently and she prescribed me stretches for my neck. They are very simple and do them twice a day and it’s made a huge difference. No more numbness. Even if all the workouts I do I wasn’t stretching my neck.
Susan says
Can this be a monthly thing? Or a once a week thing? Just WOW! He is very good at this!!!

So much fun to read! I love that Andrew can lead with his faith, throw in a “that’s what she said” along the way, and can end his day with Bravo TV and King of Queens. You hit the dang jackpot, Shay!
Thanks for sharing with us, Andrew!
sandi kellman says
YAY! Shay he is a keeper! Thank you Lord for this family. Thank you for their example to show you in all they do. Watch over them and their children. Build them up Lord Hold them close. Thank you Andrew for showing That you start your day with the Lord. Thank you for being unfraid to be bold and Glorify our Abba. May the Lord shower blessings upon all you meet and your family Amen

You both are definitely go getters. But it appears you both do it with joy! That’s important. Our “To Do” list shouldn’t be a source of conflict.
Is rest difficult? Like you feel guilty or always something to be done so rest when you die mentality? I know I do. A huge struggle of mine.
I started reading the Bible in a year in chronological order too. After Erika’s post, I chose Bible Recap. I am thoroughly enjoying it. Well, not the part that list & list & list names. ?
I like your point on David. Kindness! I am always drawn to him because he messes up, but it’s heart that stands out. It is his heart and intentions that God sees and judges. He may have failed in certain areas, but he tried to love well.
Mix and Match Mama says
For me, yes, rest can be difficult (not at night but early in the morning and during the day) because I can always think of something I’d rather be doing with my life outside of sleeping/resting. I do struggle with that from time to time.
Christie says
Love love love hearing from Andrew! Thanks for posting and giving us a glimpse into his day!
Side note questions: where is your air fryer from and what patty was he eating?
Anne says
Andrew,
You are a blessing to your family, and such a fine example for your son.

Is it just me or do we NEED to hear a duet of the Fresh Prince theme song??? These posts/videos are so great, Andrew has an awesome sense of humor. Thanks for the post!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh, I just lol!
Danielle says
Such a fun post! Shay, yall are a power couple!
Kimberly Dupree says
1. That’s what she said will NEVER not be funny.
2. I “rewrote” the Fresh Prince of Belair theme song and “rapped” it as a toast to my husband at our wedding reception.
3. Thoroughly enjoyed your blog!
MAUREEN C WERNER says
Thank you for sharing your day with us! Your words about kindness are so wonderful! Andrew, I will be praying for you and for your hand that goes numb. You do so much for so many, I know God is using you and even your pain for His good! Blessings to you and MMM and all the Shulls!

Great post by Andrew. I am super impressed by how much he gets accomplished before going into work. Both of you have such full plates and seem to handle it all with ease. And yes, he is a keeper for sure especially since he loves the Yankees!!?
Kelly Y. says
Whew, reading your blog made me tired (in a good way). The fact that you start your day being in God’s Word and meditating upon what you read (and probably praying about it too) is so uplifting and inspiring. That’s the BEST way to live your life. Jesus is the key! Praying you, Shay and your adorable kids have a blessed Easter week! Enjoy the weather (we definitely are enjoying it here in sunny So-Cal).
Ronda Petrin says
Love this and expecially love the last part! I am trying to get to the poitn where I have a more flexible schedule.
Jen says
Great post! Really enjoyed it! Really making me want to get out of bed earlier! I am in marketing and I always say you have to see things/hear things over and over to really make it stick. I am about ready now after hearing y’all talk about it so much! haha
Kathy says
What a fun post to read! It was a little bit of everything that we all need more of–Jesus, perspective, humor and devotion to family! Thanks for sharing with us. 🙂
Cindy Davidson says
I LOVED that! He got me at “calling his Mom and Dad almost everyday”!!! You are blessed, Shay and so are your kids and Andrew’s parents!
I would like to see more of your yard and what Andrew has planted….looks like he has a green thumb!
And more “Day in the life of Andrew” post!
Maura says
Omg I love this so much!!!!!!! The world needs more Andrew Shull’s and the fact that he knows what an OOTD and uses “that’s what she said jokes” literally gives me life! ❤️

I love reading Shay’s blog on the daily and loved this post! Thank you both for sharing and the gifts that come with all of it. You guys are like a piece of home, normalcy, love, happiness, great faith, generosity, and calm for me. I also love that you both pray for Shay’s readers. Please continue to do that- and thank you so much!

“That’s what she said” hahaha ?
I am very curious about his air fryer lunch- maybe in his next post he could share details!
He also gave me something to think about- I have numbness in my arms/hands when I sleep every night and I thought maybe we needed a new mattress…might be a different issue than I thought. ?

My husband just had a spinal fusion 2 weeks ago (ALIF on L5-S1). It is a tough surgery and a long recovery, but so far it seems to be worth it! I hope spinal fusion goes well for you when the time comes.
Hilde says
Andrew – thanks for the post. Can you please do a post on your mission trips. I would love to hear more about how you help. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I will make sure Shay writes that down. I have done some out of the box MT in recent years. Currently, we are zeroing in on Montana. My best friend is on a pre-trip planning expedition right now. Shout out John!-Andrew
Kathy Wood says
Loved his blog post and for taking that opportunity to spread God’s word. I read his post this morning and that message is still going through my mind. I love that he took the time and did that. I was going to ask about the air fryer but noticed the debate over that so I’ll let that be. ? And he puts out the flowers! I’m impressed.
Sugar Bostick says
Andrew is such a kind man and is so Godly. I’m so thankful he is yours. Y’all are both GOLD in my book.
Michalina Peterson says
Thank you so much for sharing Andrew and thank you for your mini sermon, I thought it was great, great insights! Thank you and Shay for sharing your family and lives with us!
Tammy M. says
Thank you Shay and Andrew for sharing your lives with us. It makes me happy to read your posts and see pics of your beautiful family. I do not comment often but I must say…I always wanted to read the bible but find it somewhat difficult to understand. Andrew shared the word of God in a way that made sense – I totally understood the story of David and how we can apply it to our daily lives. I hope you guys consider sharing more bible study posts. I loved that Andrew buys flowers every week and prioritizes family time- This was such a fun read. 🙂
Allyson says
You two seem to complement each other so well! He is hilarious! And being a proud 47, I love the Fresh Prince influence on the kids, and Starlight Vocal Band had me rolling because isn’t that just like a hubby?! Thank you for following the Spirit’s lead in your marriage to humbly share the Word of God and how meaningful it is for you. In today’s world, being brave enough to GENTLY share The Word or one’s testimony with love and without judgment is so greatly needed. Yall have a blessed week!
Melody Byrd says
Thanks for the post today….it was fun to follow you! My hubbie is also a SF agent, Gavan Byrd in Weatherford, OK, and we also love the flexibility of his work schedule. Today he spent the day at a golf tournament with our 13 year old daughter, came home and worked for a couple hours and now coaching at baseball practice with one of our boys. SF has sure blessed our life and let us focus on what is most important….our kids & our faith. Thanks to you and Shay for letting us in on your lives and keeping us entertained! 🙂
Kelly Bonner says
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this! When Andrew said he could sing the Fresh Prince theme song, I too sang it in my head. ? I also love that he said he’d finish the enneagram book in 2023! ? Most importantly I loved Andrew’s realness about his devotion & offering to buy Bibles for those who need one. More Andrew please!

1. I LOVE his MMM reference in place of Shay, cute nickname
2. I LOVE that he reminds us to take a step back and take a deep breath. Enjoy life.
3. I LOVE his love and commitment to his family.
4. I think Andrew Shull should write once a month or every other!
Donna says
Shay, your husband really sets the bar high for all husbands! Love that he not only takes such good care of his wife, kids and employees but takes the time each day to talk to his parents!
Karah Stracener says
I loved this post. Thanks so much for sharing your day Andrew. I love that you start your day with Jesus. Thanks for sharing this morning, you are right we are never to busy to be kind!! Shay you are so blessed and yall have a beautiful family. This should definitely be a quarterly thing at least.
Courtney says
Just another thought on the Bible study – because of Jonathan, Mephibosheth was spared and able to eat at the king’s table. Because of Jesus, we are spared and able to eat at the King’s table. Using the story to remind us to be kind is awesome but it’s an even greater reminder of how kind God is to us.
Mimi says
Ok he is totally SUPERMAN. But you already knew that! 😉 I love his sense of humor and hi “that’s what she said” joke LOL!!!!
Julie says
Reading this post a couple days late but thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you, Andrew for doing it. You and MMM are a great team and couple❤️

Best. Blog. Post. EVERRRRRRRRRR!!!!! It was so cool to have Andrew do a day in the life. He’s a busy man. I also cried while reading this. I’ve been struggling with the husband/kids thing. I’m 48 and it’s just not what God had in store for me. But, if I was going to beg God for anything..it would be your family. Wow. I’m blown away by the dedication that you and Andrew both have for God and your family. I know we aren’t supposed to be envious, but I’m not going to lie I am. You guys are perfect for each other. Please don’t ever take it for granted. (I know you don’t) Thanks for sharing Andrew with us. Please have him do another post soon. 🙂
Tiffany Vorse says
I loved, loved how Andrew took a good bit to post about his quiet time and how he found it relevant to share. Can he please write a devotional? He took the Bible scenario and put it simply, while applying it to anyone’s everyday life. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Hey Andrew! I have a question I see you bought Triazicide for insect control, what do you use to help control the flying insects like mosquitos? We live in N. East Texas and really fight them. Wondered if the Triazicide helps with that too especially down around your fire pit with the wooded area.
Help!
JJ says
I know this sounds crazy, but did you change the post? Ooooor can you direct me to the post that Andrew talks about all things he eats and frequency? ? He also mentioned Sean and the ‘eating guru’ he introduced him too. I live with 4 male athletes and would love to show them his routine and possibly meet with the EG too! ? Thank you for sharing your day and your heart! Ops encouraging to see and hear about godly men impacting this world in such a positive way! Love you stuff!
Mix and Match Mama says
I didn’t change this post. Are you thinking of his other day in the life post? Sagi Keliv is who taught Sean and Andrew everything about nutrition! Here is the other post: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2019/05/a-day-in-the-life-of-andrew/
