Even though the weather doesn’t feel very warm outside today, I’m keeping it very light, bright and cheerful on my blog by partnering with Nordstrom and Shop Style Collective and sharing all things happy for SPRING! I have everything from the perfect Mother’s Day gift to cute clothes for your girls, workout wear and more. Hip, hip hooray, it’s FRIDAY!
As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika . I hope you’re already having a great morning!!
Look what’s back in stock right now just in time for Mother’s Day…
my Mama necklace 🙂 It comes in both silver and gold and would look lovely on all of the mamas in your life.
If you’re looking for things for the kiddos in your life, my little girls have been looking oh so cute in these pieces from Nordstrom this spring…
This adorable adventure tee is so, so cute on my little girls!
Everything about the tee screams Ashby and Madeley to me 🙂 . Also, I bought both girls each these jeans! You can see Ashby’s HERE and Mades’ HERE.
Both girls are SO EXCITED about their new shoes for school too! I don’t know about you, but my kids basically wear the same pair every day until they’re completely worn out and then, we get a new pair. No matter how many pairs of shoes they have, they always pick the one that’s sitting by the back door. #sigh
Also, I didn’t ask them to hold hands. They just did. Melt. My. Heart.
You can see Ashby’s HERE and Madeley’s HERE.
One more cute sweatshirt to show you! I know you’ve seen my girls in pics wearing these adorable tops because…they wear it like three times a week! Both of them think it’s so cool that it appears to have a second shirt underneath the sweatshirt. I’m telling you…they’re obsessed.
And finally, some cutie patootie shortie pjs for two cutie patootie girls!
There’s nothing better than freshly cleaned kids at the end of the day!
Well, thank you all so much for introducing me to this…
…I mentioned several weeks ago that I love spicy pickles and SO MANY OF YOU suggested I try these! I found them right there on the shelf at my neighborhood grocery store. They’re the perfect balance of spicy and pickle-y 😉 .
Need a little springtime motivation to get moving? Look at this…
…I wear workout clothes every day and these shorts, the sports bra and tee are all on repeat for my activities. I really love the shorts because they have that nice wide band at the top (no cutting me off), have built in undies underneath and are that perfect length of “not too long yet not too short”. They come in multiple colors, but I loved them in navy. The sports bra and tee also come in multiple colors and both wick sweat, keep my dry and have washed and dried perfectly. (Seriously, so many colors!!)
I don’t want to be delicate with my workout wear. I want to be able to toss it in the machine and forget about it.
I thought this combo also paired well with that Zella top I’ve been telling you about too! Perfect for layering!
Everything works well with my super cute Nikes too 🙂 !
Nordstrom is the one-stop shop for all your needs, whether you’re shopping for yourself or your family! I always love shopping at Nordstrom because not only do they have everything my family needs from beauty to shoes to home, clothes, bath and more, but they have impeccable service, free shipping, free returns and curbside pick up…which in 2021 is invaluable. You can get all of the details about joining their Nordy Club HERE as well!
Don’t laugh at me, but I watched this for the first time this week…
..yeah, I’m like a decade behind.
So, I heard a pop culture reference to Eat Pray Love about a week ago, and I thought, geez, why have I not seen the movie or read the book? Both sound JUST LIKE ME! So, I did a quick Google search to see when the movie came out and immediately saw why I didn’t read the book or watch the movie…
…right here. This is why I didn’t read the book or see the movie in 2010 when it was released. I had a one year old and an infant. This right here is why 11 years later, I finally watched the movie and LOVED it! I watched it during lunch all week long (little bits here and there) and finished up yesterday. If you’re looking for a cute movie to enjoy this weekend, here you go. It made me want to eat spaghetti and go on a trip. The whole movie was just delightful. Should I read the book too? Or just consider the movie enough? Side note: if you are currently at home with little babies and think you’ll never read another book or watch another movie again, please know, in 11 years, you will 😉 .
Looking for some cute spring pieces to wear right now, I got you!
…this short-sleeve sweater will keep you warm on cooler spring days but isn’t heavy or bulky. Plus, those sleeves! I’m obsessed! I bought it in an xs.
On Sunday, I was all dressed up in this very comfy and casual dress…
…and ready for church! This dress also runs TTS (I bought an xs) and will be great with both flats and heels all spring and summer long!
Finally, I’m also still loving this sweatshirt too…
…that I wore just yesterday!
And wrapping up today…
…my Air Fryer Crispy Green Beans. You’re going to want to check these out!!
That’s it for this week! I hope you all have the BEST weekend!! See you on Monday! xo

Girl-you know I love the puff sleeve sweater!! And that pic of M and A in their pjs is SO cute!! Framer!!
Sara says
Cute! How’s the sizing in the Zella shorts for you?
Mix and Match Mama says
TTS! I bought an xs which is the same size I buy in Athleta shorts!
Katie Macsherry says
READ THE BOOK!!! Only advice I have ever given.
Mix and Match Mama says
Wow!! Okay, thank YOU!!!! xx
Claire says
Shay… you have to read Eat, Pray, Love! Admittedly, I have not seen the movie but this was a book that changed my life; I bought this at an airport while I was traveling in my early twenties, and it profoundly changed the way that I approached relationships with others and myself. I think Liz Gilbert is a phenomenal writer and an expert at articulating so many feelings and situations that I had also experienced but had never taken time to unpack. Highly recommend!
Dana P says
Thanks for the suggestion. It sounds like a great one!
And I forgot to mention, Shay-I LOVE that Mama necklace. I think it’s because I’m just so thankful to get to be a mom and every time I put it on it makes me smile. ?
Elspeth says
I’m reading Eat Pray Love right now for my book club! Love it!!!

That puffed sleeve sweater is AMAZING! What a great find!
Holly says
The Eat, Pray, Love book is SO good. I read it back in college and really enjoyed it, and then I reread it again at the end of last year and it made my 2020 top 5. I haven’t seen the movie but am adding it to my list now!!
Also, I just finished Love Lettering by Jen DeLuca yesterday and I think you would really like it – it’s a perfect easy, breezy spring read that’s super cute!!
Amanda says
I read love lettering recently too! I really enjoyed it!
Lauren says
Thank you for sharing clothing & shoe ideas for the kiddos! I’m always looking for cute stuff for my girls. Have you checked out the Tsukihoshi brand of kids sneakers on Nordstrom? They are my girls’ favorites for sneakers- so lightweight, comfy and cute!
Dana P says
Aww…wickles! We discovered those right before we moved to France and I was bummed that we couldn’t get them there. Now they have things that are closer, but those are the best! I’ll have to start looking for them at our grocery stores again. Happy weekend, Shay!
Sharon says
The mug! Love it! Where can I find it????? Blessings!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Amazon!!
Digital Waiter says
this is amazing the day spent.
Melissa Terry says
I think the book is worth your time-the way she describes the food alone is worth it-ha!
Happy weekend to you and yours!
Kristen says
Yes! Please read the book.. it was life changing!!!! So much better than movie.
Stacey says
Absolutely, you must read the book! Gilbert’s writing is so beautiful! In this case, the book is definitely better than the movie!
Kristine G. says
You NEED to read Eat, Pray, Love! SOOO much better than the movie! Then you need to read Elizabeth Gilbert’s follow up Committed!
SS says
I am not a pickle person, but my peeps in our house are….they eat Devil’s Spit pickles. They say they are hot. I think we have gotten them at Walmart. It says for adults. Lol.
Have a good weekend!!!!
Lauren says
I might be the only person on planet Earth who hates Eat, Pray, Love. I read it again 2 years ago thinking “oh come on, it couldn’t have been THAT bad”. Still didn’t like it. ??♀️ I just thought the author was unrelatable and I couldn’t get behind the whole “my husband did nothing wrong I just didn’t feel like being married anymore so I blindsided him” thing. I struggled to move past that and enjoy the rest of the book. Loving reading the comments here today though!!
Lauren says
Is the sweatshirt TTS? Love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I bought it in an xs!
Erin Hill says
I really loved the book Eat, Pray, Love. There’s a lot more detail than the movie. I have a two year old and there’s not much reading going on for me. Lots of board books though. ha! But I remember you saying how you read during the small moments like waiting to pick up your kids. So I’ve started reading during bath time – it’s not much but it’s better than just sitting there watching her play. (don’t worry… I’m still there with her). It’s slow going, but it has reignited my love of reading because once I get into a book it’s all I want to do. I just finished The Survivors by Jane Harper. If you haven’t read her books they are fantastic! Mystery with just the right amount of suspense – I can’t handle to scary if I’m reading at night. hahaha
Mix and Match Mama says
Good for you!! Okay, I read and LOVED her book The Dry! I need to read this one too!
Shavon says
I can’t believe I’m asking about those pickles, but here I am! On the shelf in the dry or cold section? My boys (15 and 42, ha!) have a love affair with pickles, especially spicy.
Happy weekend!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Hahaha! No judgment!! They were on the pickle aisle next to the other jarred pickles in the dry section. Enjoy!!
Chrissy says
OMG Eat Pray Love!!! That’s what made me choose to study abroad in Rome when I was in college 🙂 You need to add it to your rotation to have on ALLLL the time. I would say you can skip the book!
Dianna says
That sports bra looks great until I read removable cups. Those things drive me nuts!!
Jill says
Read the book….the movie was great…the book really great! As always, so many more details. And it will make you want to go on a trip even more!
Laura says
Don’t bother with the book. I found it tedious and the movie so much better.

Ordered a few of the sports bras to try. I’ve been on the hunt to replace some of my older ones that need to be retired. Hoping they are winners!
Rachael says
Definitely read the book! It’s way more detailed than the movie, and I bet you’d love it.
Nicole says
Hi Shay!! What’s your current go to lunches from Trader Joe’s? Which salads? Do you eat them on their own or add sides to it? Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I had a salad today! I had it with some of the chili tortilla roll up things. I had the Harvest Salad!
Ashlee says
At home with my 16 month old and 1 month old. I’ve checked the same book out from the library 4 times now ??♀️ Off to find your cousin’s bow shop because that 1 month old is a girl that needs all the bows!
Mix and Match Mama says
Give yourself 11 years and you’ll have it finished 😉 . Happy bow shopping! Thank you for supporting Casey!!
Maggie Eterno says
Oh my goodness I love the running shorts! How do they compare in size to Lululemon shorts?
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t love LuLu sizing. I wear a 4 in Lulu and an xs in these shorts. I think they fit just like the Athleta 3.5 ones!
Maggie Eterno says
Oh perfect! I wear XS in Athleta! Thank you!!
Mary C says
I don’t even regularly read books and I read Eat, Pray, Love. haha I highly recommend it. One of the best books I’ve read.
Chris says
No to the book! I enjoyed the movie because I love Julia Roberts but the book is a hard pass for me. I hated the main character leaving her marriage for no good reason and she seemed so self-entitled and selfish. But obviously others really liked it? Anyway, love your spring clothing pics, especially the purple Madewell sweatshirt. Have a good weekend!
Dana says
I 100% agree! I liked the movie but forced myself to finish the book and skipped chapters in trying to get through it! Looking back I should’ve just put it away! Hard pass on the book!! Way too many other good books to read to waste time on this one IMO
Kristina B says
Same!!!
Hallie says
What size are you wearing in the Zella tshirt? Love all the workout gear!
Mix and Match Mama says
xs! I love it too!
Lisa D says
Love the cute shoes in the photo of you in the striped casual dress…. could you provide details?
Mix and Match Mama says
I love them too! Unfortunately, they’re forever old.
Kathy says
It’s worth reading the book Eat, Pray & Love. I read it two times – it’s one of my favorite book.
Viviana G says
Hey Shay! What air fryer would you recommend for a first time user?
Mix and Match Mama says
One with a basket and not trays. I prefer the ones where you can “dump” everything in, close the drawer and turn it on. If it’s your fist, I would find a moderate priced one (look on Amazon) before you commit to a bigger/nicer/more expensive one.
andrea says
It is interesting to me the polar views here on the book. I will have to reread it I guess. I read it as soon as it came out. So I would have been 34 or so. I was then married for 10 years… now 20…
I did not love the movie as much as the book (and I loved the actors in the movie.)
The book to me was just about really enjoying your life…really live it. Experience things. I do not even remember her leaving her husband.
I would recommend the book. My husband and I definitely did some intense traveling after the book/movie…the book made a pretty large impact on my life.
And I remember her being interviewed on Oprah, Ha.
Ella Williams says
Hey Shay! I was wondering if maybe one day in the future, you’d do a post all about activewear? I haven’t been able to find anything cute and reasonably priced recently!
Linda says
I would say definitely still read the book, especially because you love books. It is SO good. Like, really good. It took me years to finish the book and I still have not seen the movie. But, you reminded me that I need to now. I was also busy with a little one when the book and movie came out. Slowly trying to watch movies. Only problem is I either still dont have time or I fall asleep. Lol
Maggie says
Loved the book! Read it!
VaLorie Brito says
