Hey, hey Friday!
Today is going to be extra fun on our vacation, so make sure you’re checking my Instagram to see what we’re up to! In the meantime, I have PART 2 of our time in Martha’s Vineyard today!
Let’s recap:
First, I blogged the first leg from Boston to Chatham, MA on Cape Cod.
Then, yesterday, I blogged the first part of our second leg to Martha’s Vineyard.
Make sure you read both of those posts if you haven’t already.
I had every intention of making our three days in Martha’s Vineyard one blog post, but after reading all of your comments, DMs and emails and since my travel agency does not offer our services there, I thought I should break it all up and make multiple specific posts in case any of you are planning a trip (versus one long that’s not as specific). We spent three days in MV and they all were very different, so I’m going to give them each a post. I apologize in advance to any of you who hate a vacation recap with 55 posts…agh! I’ll try to sprinkle them in throughout July and August.
Today’s all about PART TWO from Martha’s Vineyard starting with…
…coffee and my workout romper 😉 . It’s currently on sale!
The beautiful Winnetu Oceanside Resort sits right there on some gorgeous beachfront property, so we decided to make this second day on the island all about the beach and outdoor fun! We grabbed breakfast at their “general store” which had a great variety of delicious breakfast bites (the BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had!) and headed off to the beach…
…we brought some of our own beach gear, but the resort also offered chairs, towels, and a lot of other fun beach stuff too. This is their “yard” and you just follow the path through those trees to the beach!
I snapped these pics of the backside of the resort as we were walking…
…there is so much space to play here!
We got to the beach and settled in for the morning. A book and a beach…I was set!
Our little beach gear that we brought from home worked out perfectly for this trip too!
The Shull kids love the beach almost as much as…
…their parents do 🙂 . By the way, my bikini top is HERE and comes in other colors.
I don’t enjoy a crowded beach, so I loved how this one gave us lots of space and not a lot of people.
We stayed at the beach until about 1:00 and then…
…walked back to the Winnetu pool to enjoy lunch at their outdoor pool cafe with a little swimming.
Mades lost her second tooth while we were out there 🙂 . She was so proud!
After some pool swimming and a delicious lunch (I, of course, had the lobster roll), we played a little giant chess and then…
…walked back to the beach…
We spent the rest of the day right here next to the ocean.
It was really such a great day in Martha’s Vineyard!
When it was getting later and time for dinner, we headed back to our hotel room.
Originally, we wanted this room (you’ll see more pics below), but it was sold out the first night (which is why we were in the other room in the last post), but now our room was ready and we were here for the next two nights…
I had a room and bathroom for us and then another room and bathroom for the kids.
There was a fold out bed in this room for Kensington and Smith slept on a second fold out bed in the living room.
We got all cleaned up and were ready for dinner! My dress is HERE.
We had heard so many great things about The Dunes restaurant here on the property, that we made reservations for dinner there that night.
After dinner, someone found where they were making s’mores outside! Ha!
It was such a beautiful night that we spent the rest of it outside goofing off…
…making s’mores by the fire…
…and playing in the yard…
We didn’t leave Winnetu one time that day and had an AMAZING time!
That was PART 2 from Martha’s Vineyard! Sometime soon, I’ll post PART 3 which is an entirely different kind of a day!!
Happy Friday, friends! I hope you all have a great weekend!! xo

Love!! Working out on this vacation, how do you work that out with your kids? Do you just leave them in their room while they’re sleeping? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
It depends on what day it is and what we’re doing. Andrew and I have different workout routines, so it really varies.

So much fun! Love the gorgeous views. Who doesn’t love a beach vacation?
Kelly says
I love to mix it up on vacation, busy days with down days, this is perfect!
Corren says
How is the water/beach there? It looks chilly.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh it’s refreshing. Bahahaha! It’s always chillier up here!
Kathy says
What is the beach water temperature there and in Nantucket? I am used to warm Texas beaches.
Mix and Match Mama says
I am not used to warm Texas beaches, so it feels normal to me. It’s chilly but we’re totally diving in!

Looks like y’all are having an amazing time! Random question-what is the name of the series that Ashby was reading in your Instagram stories the other day? I’m a teacher and wanted to get those books for my classroom ☺️ Enjoy Nantucket today!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s the Donut Dreams series!
Kara says
This day sounds perfect to me. I love the picture of K playing volleyball with Madeley.
Amy St Hilaire says
I live in MA and love your vacation posts in general! Keep them coming! Two questions… what is the watch that Ashby is wearing? And, do you do laundry on a trip this long?? 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s a Garmin Jr (love them so much!), and yes, we’ve been doing laundry!!!
Robin Pruitt says
I think Mix and Match Travel Agency should add Nantucket and Martha’s Vinyard to your list of places that you offer your services! You’ve made us all out it on our list of places to go!

I dont have instagram so im not sure if I missed something. If you are still in Nantucket this weekend, there is an AMAZING fundraiser swim happening to raise money for cancer research – a team local to my area “Amazing Grace Race” will be there – I would love to see you go to this event and blogging about it to help raise awareness for a great cause! I am sure that you and your readers could make a huge impact! https://www.swimacrossamerica.org/site/TR/OpenWater/Nantucket?pg=entry&fr_id=5766

I have a question about Barrington Totes. I first heard about those from your blog 🙂 I was planning to invest in a few and wanted to ask if you feel they are good quality and durable? Also, is the St.Anne’s too big to use as an everyday purse? Is the Savannah big enough for that? I’m used to an LV Neverfull type size.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness! I LOVE my Barrington totes!! They are really so amazing!! I would say, for every day use, I would use the Savannah over the St Anne.
Jennimc says
Thank you so much! That info helps 🙂
Hermione says
So fun to follow along with this trip! I would love to hear more about that breakfast sandwich…! 🙂
Makila says
Everything looks wonderful. We had two of our four kids diagnosed with Celiac. How are you finding restaurants that are good for cross contamination or general gluten free food?
Mix and Match Mama says
We did our research before we left home. We also ask a lot of questions when we get there and order smart!
Erin says
Where is that navy and white coverup from with the tassle bottom, I need that in my life!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love that one too! https://shopstyle.it/l/bwFaL

Looks amazing! We are headed to MV & Nantucket in a few weeks & staying at the Winnetu & the Nantucket Hotel (which I discovered after reading your posts from previous Nantucket trips!). Can’t wait to read the other posts, looking forward to seeing the rest of your recommendations! Safe travels!
