Mmmmmmm! My very favorite fish to make at home is cod.
On busy weeknights, there is nothing simpler than a crispy cod dinner with a side salad.
This recipe here is super simple because…I use the air fryer!
Coat your fish, toss it in, and dinner is really just about done!
All you need is some tartar sauce (or even ketchup!) on the side and your family will have the tastiest dinner!
Enjoy! xo
PrintCrispy Air Fryer Cod
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 4 to 6 1x
Description
The air fryer makes this crispy cod dinner even simpler!
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup or so of grainy mustard (we use one from Trader Joe’s, Dijon will work too!)
- 4 to 6 cod filets
- about 1½ cups or so of your favorite Italian-style breadcrumbs (we use g-free!)
- about 6–8 green onions, finely chopped
- about ¼ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Spray the basket of your air fryer with Pam.
- Take each of your pieces of cod and brush on your mustard. Set aside.
- Next, in a shallow dish (like a pie plate!), add in your breadcrumbs, chopped green onions and Parm.
- Next, take each piece of cod coated in mustard and dredge it in your breadcrumb mixture. After that, place it in your air fryer.
- Close the air fryer drawer, set the temp to 400 degrees and the timer to 16 minutes.
- When the timer goes off, your cod is ready to go! It should be browned, crispy and delicious!
Notes
We use Aleia’s Gluten-Free Italian Breadcrumbs.

Yum!! What is your side salad?!
Mix and Match Mama says
I add a hodgepodge like pepperoncini, tomatoes, red onion…whatever I have!
VK says
Is your fish frozen or thawed?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s not frozen!

We love fish but I have not tried it in the air fryer. This sounds delicious….I am going to have to get the ingredients and try it!
Ani Martinez says
I LOVE the air fryer to make fish! I season the fillets lightly before coating them in the breadcrumbs for extra flavor. Another favorite is salmon in foil pouches – season lightly, and coat with sliced onions and lemons. Seal in foil pouch and bake 15 minutes at 375 in the air fryer – SO GOOD!
Erinn says
This sounds devious! If you don’t have an air fryer is it better to bake in the oven or on the stove top?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would do it in the oven at 375 degrees about 15ish minutes! Enjoy!!

You should consider watching seaspiracy on netflix and seeing how your family can adjust their eating habits to be more mindful of the planet! The oceans are being devastated by people eating fish. Love your content and just hoping to see you raise these kinds of issues on your platform.
Mix and Match Mama says
I actually watched it and LOVED it!!! I’ve told so many other people to watch it too.
Kristin says
I watched it and I’ll rarely eat fish again. I knew all the issues, but it took that visualization for me to really absorb the corrupt nature of the industry. I highly recommend the documenary as well! I am moving towards an all plant based diet (i know farming has their issues, I just think they are more manageable). I’m also waiting for more influencers to take the risk and include content on issues like this. I love the fashion, travel, and decor, but I’d love to hear more about how others stand on the topics shaping our next generations. I think once more people start to openly talk, the more our society will engage in respectful conversations…instead of this political overdrive going on now!
Jaime says
Hey have you tried making your sweet potato fries in the air Fryer?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!!!! It works like a charm! I do it around 400 degrees for about 20ish minutes.

This looks so good!
