It’s a SUPER-SIZED Friday Faves!!
When I sat down to write out this post, I had SO MANY favorites from this one week that it’s an extra big, extra full, extra FALL sort of Friday over here. Settle in with your #psl under a cozy blanket, turn on When Harry Met Sally in the background and scroll. Sending you so much September love from my home to yours!
Just like every week, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika
I hope you all have the BEST weekend!! READ THE WHOLE POST for some real greatness at the end.
My first Fave…
…awwwww! I went to Boston with my mom and dad last week!!! We had the BEST time!!! It doesn’t matter how old I get, I always love, love, love seeing the Sox play with my parents. This was my third time in six weeks to fly up to Boston and let me tell you, I’m just about ready to pack my bags and move there myself. I just love it SO MUCH!!!! Side note, so many of you loved my hat, top and sneakers when I posted on IG that day! I hope you all buy the Sox hat 😉 .
We went to two games while we were there…
…and just had the BEST time!
Speaking of the best time…
…Kensington turned THIRTEEN on Wednesday!!! We celebrated all day long starting at 6:20 AM when she was leaving for school (they have volleyball practice before school).
After school, Kensington and seven friends came over for pizza and a pool party…
…Aunt Catherine came up with this year’s theme 🙂 . They swam, roasted s’mores and…
…we had a delicious two layer GLUTEN-FREE birthday cake! I ordered it from Unrefined Bakery in Frisco, TX, and it was a huge HIT!!
I’m feelin’ all fall over here. Remember when I shared this dress with you…
…and my fun leopard heels?! Well…
…I liked it so much that I bought it in black too 🙂 . Both the dress and the heels run TTS!
I love wearing dresses to church on Sundays but the rest of the week…
…I’m living in transitional outfits like these! My sleeveless top has been on repeat (it’s an Amazon find under $20 that comes in so many other colors!).
Same shorts, different day, fall-ish top for the win! This one also comes in other colors but the red ochre said fall to me!
How cute is this top with my jeans?! The dogs like it too 😉 .
Helllllllllo fall! I really need to calm down with my excitement over here, but I just LOVE this hat and this sweater!!! The sweater comes in other colors (one of them is super-fall), and is so soft and perfect for transitional weather.
Friends, I can’t quit it…
…if you were to pop into my office any day this month, it’s a guarantee that you’ll find me surrounded by dogs and wearing a fall-ish out fit. This sweater spoke to me in the “terra earth” color, but it comes in seven other colors too!
If you liked my black top above that I was wearing in Boston, I bet you’ll like it in white too 🙂 . My jeans are HERE.
I’m not the only one feelin’ fall…
…my girls have been loving all of their fall colors too!! The top, jeans and dress are all Old Navy finds! I love Old Navy in the fall!!!!
I will take pics soon of my house decorated for fall, but in the meantime, I thought I’d share a few new pumpkin-y finds in case you’re wanting to add a few new things to your cozy Halloween home…
…like my office doormat 🙂 .
When I am running in and out on busy days, I always use my private entrance, and it makes me happy to “go to work” right now with my mat and pumpkins on my porch! I bought this mat at Hobby Lobby this year…
…I also bought my giant (yet incredibly light!) pumpkin there too.
Even Andrew commented that he’s totally digging my pumpkin pillow this year 🙂 .
My small velvet pumpkins came in a pack together. Aren’t they fun?!
My balcony is complete this season too with outdoor pillows from my cousin’s Etsy shop! They make me so happy!!!
The last bit of fall goodness today is my annual Quick & Easy Oktoberfest Recipes post! If you want a few delicious and festive recipes for your family, I have them HERE!
***Now, the good stuff isn’t over. Please keep reading!***
Friends, in the past, you guys have been SO GENEROUS in helping people we know and love who are going through hard times. Back in 2018, we raised money for Sheaffer’s cousin Alden’s family as her son Holt was going through cancer treatment. We were all SO AMAZED at home much you supported that family and ever since Holt was declared in remission (praise God!), Alden has been on a mission to pay it forward.
Twice a year, she identifies a local family in need, and she works hard to raise funds for the family. Just this past March she raised $9000 to help a sweet boy with Cerebral Palsy get a therapy dog!
This month, she’s focusing her efforts on sweet Braxton. Alden made a super informative video on YouTube HERE where she shares Braxton’s story and pictures of the family. Braxton has a story unlike any other. Braxton was diagnosed in 2018 with neuroblastoma and spent the next year fighting for his life. After the long and hard treatment, scans would show that he beat neuroblastoma and the family was of course overjoyed! However, as a side effect to some of the chemotherapies he received, he has developed pulmonary fibrosis which a very serious and possibly terminal diagnosis.
This sweet boy and his family are so precious!! You can continue to get to know them on Alden’s facebook HERE and her instagram HERE where she will keep sharing tidbits about the family until the fundraiser is closed.
If you would like to give a cash donation, you can do so via the following:
*Venmo (@feedingfridaynightlights)
*Zelle (feedingfridaynightlights@gmail.com)
*PayPal (feedingfridaynightlights@gmail.com)
I would love to really bless this family, so if you feel led, please know that we all greatly appreciate it!! I’m so thankful for this community and how we rally around people in their time of need. xo

Happy Friday, Friend!! Your Boston pics had me longing for a little break in our 90 degree days. It’s coming! ??
Sheaffer Sims says

Do you happen to have a link for your office rug? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I do! It’s Pottery Barn. It’s in this post: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2021/03/the-mix-and-match-mama-office/
Mary says
Happy Friday! Can you link your jeans with the Anthropology sweater and the ones with the white top? Thank you ?
Mix and Match Mama says
The black-ish ones are Frame from last year and sold out. I’ll link the other ones right now! Happy Friday!
Kristen says
Can you link your bag in your Boston pics, thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s one of my faves!! It’s Gucci!
Kathy says
Thank you for sharing the link to Alden’s video about sweet Braxton and his family, and the accounts to send in donations. So many tears for that beautiful boy, and many prayers for him and his family. Alden has found her calling in Feeding Friday Night Lights. Her ability to speak about that brave little boy and his family’s medical journey with such compassion is a gift. I’m also praying that we can surpass her ‘lofty’ goal!
Casey says
But did you link those tennis shoes you wore in your Boston picture?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I just checked the link and mine are the last option listed. They’re called ivory/desert sand/sienna (seriously, the longest name ever!).
Kris says
Is your dress the burgundy color? In the pic it looks more rust! And I love it! There’s only 2 options on there so I’m thinking it must be. Cried over the post on Braxton. Praying and donated!
Mix and Match Mama says
Looks like mine already sold out! It was there earlier this morning. And THANK YOU for helping with Braxton!!!!!!!!!!
Cathy says
Hi Shay,
As always, LOVE your blog!!! Will you please link your air fryer and board that sits under your keurig in your office, please and thank you!!! Also, do you use 2 different air fryers? I purchased one you linked a few years ago and love it! The one in your Instagram stories looks different. Thanks!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww! Thank you so much!!! The board is a very old one from Williams-Sonoma. I don’t love our air fryer (more on that coming up in a post next week!). Stay tuned!!
Patty says
Shay, with the red ochre top from Nordstrom w the v back…does your bra show if you are wearing a regular bra? Just checking to see if this would be suitable for work…and I hate it when bra straps show.
Mix and Match Mama says
It does not!
Jennifer Ward says
Love your posts. Curious about the doormat, though. I have what I think is the same one & got it at Target. Just sharing in case any of your readers want one, too!
Jennifer Ward says
Ugh. Don’t listen to me! My doormat is similar but not the same. I’m so sorry!
Linda Fromm says
I love reading your blog. You are so positive! Can you do a whole post about Ashby and how’s she’s doing? Difference between old therapy and new therapy plan, will she have more surgeries, how she’s doing with the compression garment….if she’ll let you post about her of course. Also, a few years ago you mentioned the bone in her forearm is the width of a pencil. How do you protect her arm while she’s doing sports? Thanks
Mix and Match Mama says
I can totally do an Ashby update post!!! Thank you for the idea!!
Cyndie says
Hi Shay! Can you correct the link to your button down sleeveless top. I think I need one or two…
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
The link is correct! You just have to scroll over and down to find the sleeveless ones. They wash and dry so well!
Amanda @ That Inspired Chick says
So much cute stuff! Including that sweet boy! Praying so hard for Braxton and his family! I can’t even imagine. ❤️

So many adorable fall clothes!
Suzanne Allore says
Hi Shay, I love your blog. Thanks for taking the time to share your life, it helps to make mine easier (like shopping). Can you please help me find the BB Dakota short sleeve black dress, the link takes me to the long sleeve one. Thanks 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
The shorter sleeve one isn’t linked anymore which tells me it’s out of stock. They pop in and out. The rust colored dress was gone on Friday afternoon, but now, it’s back.
