Happy Friday!!!!
Anyone else feelin’ a little surprised that Thanksgiving is next week?! It snuck up on me this year!
Hmmmm…well, to be honest, it might have snuck up on me because I’m already in the Christmas spirit…
Bahahahaha! That makes me laugh every time I read it.
Okay, settle in and get cozy for today’s Friday Faves! I have so many fun finds you might need to check out before your Turkey Day. Speaking of which, if you have any Thanksgiving-ish movie suggestions for our weekend/next week, please share! We typically watch Trains, Planes and Automobiles each year, but we would any new suggestions too!
In the meantime, just like every week, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing my faves.
Cheers to the best weekend, friends! I will see you all back here on Monday!
Awwwwwww! I love this pic! On Saturday, we headed off to Charleston for our annual girls trip. We spent three really great nights there and enjoyed every minute (and every bite!). I seriously took like three pictures, so I don’t think I’ll be writing up a recap (I still need to recap our trip to Walt Disney World!), but it was a great trip and a wonderful time of year to visit. Just for a quick reference, here are some of the details:
1: We stayed at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel and the location was fabulous. We could walk everywhere!!
2: For our dinners, we enjoyed Hank’s Seafood, Poogan’s Porch and Halls. Our best lunch was at 5Church.
3: We love, love, loved our food tour!! We took the Savor the Flavors of Charleston Food Walking Tour. It was amazing!! We loved our guide and all of the yummy food! I highly recommend!
Any time I get to spend with these ladies is a great time. This is for sure my #1 fave of the week!
Speaking of our trip to Charleston, here are a few things I wore and loved on this trip…
Yes, yes, YES to these hoop earrings!! Look at how they attach. They’re different than “normal” hoops, but they’re light, they’re a great size, and they’re priced well. Love! I received so many compliments on them just walking around. These would make excellent holiday gifts!
Speaking of the holidays…
…Meagan was my roomie this year, an we brought with us matching pjs and robes. Ha! Love them!
A few more fun finds for your Friday…
…yes to this Abercrombie sweatshirt. I’ve purchased this before in other colors. It’s so soft, washes and dries so well…love. It comes in so many other great prints and colors right now, but this leather trimmed version is my fave. These run TTS. I’m wearing an xs.
And this sweater here is light and so easy to wear with either jeans or leggings!
Let’s all stop though and check out my #1 fave of the season.
Ready?
You guys, it’s these boots…
…so if you follow me on Stories then you’ve seen me wear these boots just about every day and gush constantly.
They are so comfortable and waterproof! I bought three other pairs of lug boots and returned them all before trying these. I love that it has heel to it too. Love.
See?
I can’t quit them 🙂 . These boots come in two other colors too!
This just makes me happy. They wanted to decorate cookies after school. I am so thankful these girls have each other. They are truly best friends.
Okay, I have a few random gift ideas for your Friday!
First up, did you see these on Sheaffer’s blog this week?
Sheaffer teamed up with Accessory Concierge again this year and created these adorable scarves with little gift tags to make the easiest (and cutest!) holiday gifts! And bonus, right now, you can use code STMTSCARF and get the scarf of your choice and the sweet little twine with the colorful “MERRY” card for just $20. That’s 50% OFF!
If you listened to The Bestie Breakdown this week then you heard us gush about…
…the simple gift idea of taking a bottle of wine and adding holiday ribbon and one of these foil wine openers for an easy Christmas gift for friends and neighbors!
You get TWO openers for only $7!
Finally, calling all tarte fans! Look what I just bought!! They super-sized their #1 best selling palette! Isn’t it beautiful?! I bought one for myself but wouldn’t it make a great gift too?!
Finally…
…no need to worry about what to eat with the parade on Thanksgiving morning. I have your Totally Terrific Thanksgiving Breakfast Menu just in time for Turkey Day! If you’re looking for a little bite, a sweet bite or a big breakfast casserole, I have you covered. I even have a drink to serve too! It’s all HERE.
That’s it for this week, friends! I will be back on Monday to kick off Thanksgiving week! Have a great weekend! xx

I went to look but couldn’t find it. I bought it from J Crew in September, but no longer see it available.
Vanda says
I LOVE your new boots! Are they comfortable even with the higher heel? My favorite Thanksgiving movie is always Home For The Holidays with Holly Hunter! Have a great weekend!
Mix and Match Mama says
SO COMFORTABLE!! I walked and walked and walked in Charleston in them without any problems. I actually think the heels give it a little support!
Lisa D says
Those boots! The beautiful scarves! Your girlfriends trip! So much fun, have a lovely weekend.

Hi Shay! My little guy (11) and I recently watched ‘A Family Thanksgiving’ a Hallmark movie I didn’t even no existed! It was super super cute. All the fun elements of a typical Hallmark movie and a little bit like the plot of ‘Scroodged!’ We loved it. My bigger kids (14 and 15) joined in after sports practices and also loved what they saw of it! I also love Planes Trains and Automobiles but I think my kids like the Hallmark movie more. (They get upset that Steve Martin is so mean to John Candy-LOL!). Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
PS, I started ‘Christmas in Peachtree Bluff’ and loooooooove. It does not disappoint! I know you’re reading Christmas books this month and this is a good one!
Carly says
Can’t wait for the Disney recap! I find that there are good Thanksgiving TV specials. We watch all the Friends ones (most should be good for your kiddos) and then we watch old school Nickelodeon ones!
Beverly says
Who makes the boots? I can’t open any of your links since my laptop has a safesearch program and it’s weird which links get blocks.
Can you link brands in your posts?
Many thanks, love your blog.
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re Cole Haan!
Wendy says
How did you find they ran? The reviews are super mixed. I wear an 8.5 but the reviews recommended sizing up 1-2 sizes ?
Mix and Match Mama says
True to size!!

Request: more great neighbor gift ideas for a reasonable price $20-$30 since there are numerous neighbors. Our neighbors are all older so they have all the blankets they could ever want… feel like I’m running out of affordable/good ideas.

I just wanted to comment and give a little update for those of you praying for my Rachel. She had her post-op meeting with oncologist yesterday, and last week she got her drains out 1 week early! 🙂 Since her bloodwork and pathology reports were good, the oncologist said she could do “lighter” chemo treatment rather than a heavier/more aggressive type. She will have that 1/week for 12 weeks and Herceptin treatments along with chemo (which specifically attacks the HER2 protein that her cancer is positive for) for 1 year. After the first 12 weeks, the Herceptin will continue once every 3 weeks. She will be getting a port put in and an echocardiogram done probably within the next couple of weeks and treatment will start early December. Again, we are SO thankful for all of the prayers on her behalf. Please continue to keep her family in your prayers…(she has 4 littles, 10, 9, 7 and 5). THANK you, THANK you for allowing me to share here. Happy Thanksgiving!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Debbie, thank you, thank you, thank you for the update! I am praying so often for Rachel and her precious family. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please continue with the updates!!!

Hi Shay! Will you please link the jeans you are wearing in your pics above? They look so cute and trying to find them on your blog but I am not having any luck. Thank you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh boo. They’re old. I bought them off of ShopBop last year and just checked, they’re not there any longer. The brand is Rag and Bone.
Tricia says
Hi Shay!
Can you link the grey sweatshirt you have on with the leather Spanx?! You’re wearing it in your stores today too! So cute!
Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Different sweaters! The one here in the picture is from J Crew but it’s not longer on their site (I bought it in September!).
Melissa K says
I don’t have a Thanksgiving movie to recommend but I’m really curious to hear your thoughts on the Nantucket Noel hallmark movie that premieres this weekend.
Ruth says
The Holiday Engagement is my go-to Thanksgiving movie. It’s a Hallmark movie, and I think it has a good blend of humor and hallmark snappiness.
Stephanie says
Hi! Can you share the grey boots you are wearing with the A&F sweater? Are they Sorel? Thank you! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! The style is Lexie.
Laurel Ross says
What is the name of your fav fall MAC lip color?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t been wearing a MAC lip this fall. I have been wearing the NARS Velvet Matte Pencil in Sex Machine.
Tammy says
What about the Gucci booties you are wearing in the pic above? Would you not recommend those?
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course! They are comfy enough to walk around all day in (and cute too!).
