You guys, it’s the very first WUW of 2022, and I’m pumped to be back with you!! This is one of my VERY favorite posts each month, so I’m so happy that we are bringing them back for another year.
If you don’t know what What’s Up Wednesday is, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Andrew and I returned home from London yesterday afternoon, and even though we had SO MUCH FUN, we are so happy to be back with our kiddos! More on that vacation to come, but first…
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
I have no idea.
I need to go to the grocery store today.
I’m not sure.
It’s going to be something easy.
Maybe…
…my Easy Beef & Mushrooms Over Rice?
We shall see…
2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Well, I’m already reminiscing about our trip to London. We had SUCH a great time!! I love traveling with my kids, but there’s something super amazing about traveling with just my man too. We loved going to Europe this time of year, and I anticipate we do more January traveling in the future!
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
This…
…I LOVE this…
After years and years of using bath towels to do yoga in hotel rooms…I finally bought myself a travel yoga mat and LOVE IT! Why did it take me so long?! It was light and folded up so easily into my suitcase and bonus…when I went to the hotel’s gym with Andrew in London, I didn’t have to use their mats (kind of yucky to share mats). Now, this isn’t thick, so I wouldn’t necessarily say you would want to use it all the time, but it totally did the job on the road and now, I will always carry it in my suitcase!
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Laundry. Laundry. Laundry.
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
I feel a bit like a broken record, and for that, I apologize, but prayers for Ashby as we approach the next surgery would be greatly appreciated! We can really just never have too many prayers over here.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
PART TWO of our Disney vacation recap with Britt and Madeley! I’m so happy you loved PART ONE yesterday!!! Now, I need to get PART TWO up and ready for you!
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
To be home with my kiddos 😉 .
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
I have read SO MANY books this month!! I cannot wait until my January Book Review to share them all with you!
Speaking of books…
…if you missed my 2021 Books in Review post where I named my TOP THREE BOOKS OF 2021, make sure you catch that HERE! You should probably read each and every one of those books too! I not only name my TOP THREE, but I also briefly mention other amazing reads and honorable mentions from last year’s 59 books!
As for what I’m watching? Well…
…I deep into season two. Whoa. That’s all I have to say. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
This…
…still on repeat in my house 🙂 .
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
All the things I packed for London!
I tried to pack as many neutrals this time as possible so that I could rewear and layer items easily and…it worked like a charm! I have plans to do a “what I packed” post…but in the meantime, here are some of the things I wore last week in one collage…
…from top to bottom BLAZER//SLEEVELESS SWEATER//JEANS//NECKLACE//BOOTIES//EARRINGS//DRESS//BLACK & RED BLOUSE//BOOTS//CREAM SWEATER//JUMPSUIT//FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS//DENIM JACKET//BOOTS
Every single item ran TTS. All of the tops are xs, the jumpsuit and dress are both xs, my jeans are 25 and my boots are a size 8.
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
We have a very chill weekend ahead…and I’m super pumped about it. I am going to go visit my grandparents, catch up on some laundry and enjoy lots of snuggles with my kiddos.
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
My calendar looks pretty calm for February, and for that, I am excited. All of our spring sports start back up soon, so I’m going to enjoy the quiet while I can!
That is it for today! If you blogged WUW today too, make sure you link up below!
I’ll see you all back here tomorrow!

My daughter had very minor dental surgery last week and I dreaded it for a few weeks so it’s absolutely fair that what you dread the most are Ashby’s surgeries. Just because she’s had a lot of them, doesn’t make it any easier. I am saying prayers for her as you all anticipate her next one.
Mix and Match Mama says
I hope she’s doing better today. Any kind of surgery with your kiddo is so hard. Thank you for your sweet comment. xx
DANIELLE K RIGG says
Sending lots of love and prayers for sweet Ashby. May god always be watching over her.

Shay-So encouraged to see your travel to London! Thank you for sharing! It’s on our short list as the world is re-opening for travel ? And of course praying for Ashby and all of you with the surgery!

Cheer … yepp – a totally different vibe than season 1 – still was into it fully!
Prayers headed your way for your little warrior
Alysha Rooks says
I felt let down by season 2 of cheer. I feel like noone did necessarily well with the fame the show brought. Also didn’t realize Navarro and tvcc are literally the only 2 schools in that specific bracket of competition in Daytona. I don’t know why it bothered me to find that out, like it should have been disclosed. ?? Way to invested.
And as always, prayers for sweet Ashby.

Fun post! We ran into DaVonte from trinity on Sunday down in Uptown – watching the Chiefs game. He was so nice and gave us lots of insight from the show.
Liz says
A travel yoga mat! Omg I never knew this existed and it’s brilliant! Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
It was SO much better than a towel or gym yoga mat…kind of gross.

Prayers are going up for Ashby! What do you play your music on throughout your house? Your London trip looked amazing, hope to book a wonderful trip through your travel agency one day!! Have a great rest of your week and enjoy your weekend!
Mix and Match Mama says
We have speakers in our house and use the Sonos app and technology to play the music!
Sheaffer says
I can’t wait to see more about your trip! Your Evereve outfits were all DARLING! And praying for Ashby as always. xoxo
Shelly J Janac says
You have no idea how much I loved seeing that I wasn’t the only one without a meal plan for the week yet!
Mix and Match Mama says
I have nothing. It’s 10:17 and I feel like I need to get my life together. 😉
WhittyWife (Lindsay) says
Continued prayers for Ashby! ❤ Is the surgery coming up asap, and is it a long/repairing type surgery or more imaging/diagnostic? I hope you don’t mind my asking. I love being able to focus my prayers. And, as always, I’m praying for peace for ALL of you, protection, and Ashby’s quick recovery (I know you’ve mentioned nausea after anesthesia). Sending so much love to you and your sweet girl today! ❤❤
Mix and Match Mama says
You’re so sweet to ask so that you can pray specifically. There is absolutely nothing that means more to us. This one will be unique and a first for us. It’s more like a biopsy to better determine next steps. We have all the worries right now, so prayers for peace are always so coveted.
Nicole says
Love your shoes in your workout pictures! Can you share the link? Thanks so much!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re Under Armour!

Praying for Ashby! Your London trip looked amazing. I’m going in July and cannot wait!
Kelly Bonner says
Just curious do your parents help out while you & Andrew are gone or do you have a sitter come in?
Mix and Match Mama says
We almost always have our parents do it (they take turns). Sometimes, a friend from church helps, but mostly, our parents.
Margaret Porterfield says
Who keeps your kids when you travel? My husband and I are hoping to travel, just the two of us. It’s so stressful to figure out who will and can watch our kids. How do you make it work?
Mix and Match Mama says
Our parents take turns! Sometimes, a sweet friend from church helps too, but it’s almost always our parents 🙂 .
Joanne says
Can’t wait to hear about part 2 of the Disney trip and hear more about London too! I love travelling just my husband and I. Family trips are great but there is just something about taking off alone.
Katie Compton says
I play that same station for my 2nd graders when we have quiet work time. We all love it. Hearing them hum along to the songs soothes my teacher soul! ❤️
