Happy happy happy Friday, friends! You guys…I feel like today is a super-sized edition to end our week! I have something for the home, something to watch, something to eat, something to wear or gift for Mother’s Day…something for everyone 🙂 .
Settle in and cozy up, it’s a great batch of Faves this week! As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika .
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! xx
I. Am. Obsessed.
So, last week, I asked you guys if I should subscribe to Brit Box, and honestly, based on the feedback, the answer is YES! Buuuuut since I was asking about shows to watch (they’ve all fallen so flat for me recently), I had a few of you tell me to watch Julia on HBO, and I LOVE IT! I have not watched a show that I have enjoyed this much in a long, long time. This is a mini-series about Julia Child as she goes from cookbook author to TV celebrity and shatters every glass ceiling on her way up. David Hyde Pierce and Bebe Neuwirth are also both in this as supporting characters and let me just tell you, I’m obsessed with them. I promise you, you will be hungry when you watch each and every episode…but you will be happy too.
This is charming, insightful, funny and very entertaining. I give this show TWO HUGE THUMBS UP!!
Speaking of charming and delightful, I made these two purchases about a week ago and love them…
…hmmmmm…one of my favorite pastimes is sitting down and flipping through/reading a cookbook or coffee table book. I heard about Plat Du Jour on a podcast and ordered it. It’s beautiful and simple…it just makes me happy. When my More Beautiful book arrived, I loved it so much that I gifted a copy to my mom too. I cannot remember a time when I’ve enjoyed a coffee table book about interiors more than this one. No matter your style, it covers them all. If you too love a happy book to read, these two are lovely. They would both make great Mother’s Day gifts too 🙂 .
Do you know what they pair nicely with????
My Fave #3…
They’re baaaaaaaaack!
…literally the most worn item I own…
…I’m wearing them right this second…which makes sense because from the minute my feet hit the floor to the minute I tuck them back under the covers at night, I wear THESE SLIPPERS 🙂 . These are a seasonal find, so you better grab a pair while they last! They come in many other colors too (from neutral to bright!), so I went ahead and grabbed me another pair because…you know…I love them and they won’t be here forever. These would also make excellent Mother’s Day gifts too!
Another favorite thing of mine this week…my Easter dress is an Amazon find!
I wore this dress the first time in Hawaii and loved it so much that I wore it again on Easter! I just love me a good Amazon find!
If you’re looking for a hostess gift, a Mother’s Day gift, a wedding gift…or something lovely for yourself, I’m blogging all about Our Place’s Spring Sale and why these three items here pair perfectly with…
…my Caprese Salad Board and spring/summer meals 🙂 . You can read all about it (and get my delicious recipe!) HERE today! PLUS…
…make sure you catch this!!! They are having huge savings on both the Always Pan and Perfect Pot plus 20% off everything sitewide! YES!!!!! Now is the time to buy if you’ve been waiting for a great sale!
Okay, that wraps up my week! I’m off to get ready for our elementary school’s spring carnival later on this evening. Here’s sending you lots of love this Friday! xx

Such a happy post. I could almost feel your excitement for your favorites right through the screen. One question … do you think that book would be helpful for apartment dwellers too? Happy Friday!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yesssssssss!!!!! I absolutely think it would be lovely for an apartment dweller 🙂 .
Karen says
Omg! Yes to Julia!!! I’ve told everyone I know to watch it! Glad you loved it too!

Love Friday Favorites! Is your Amazon dress navy or sapphire?
Mix and Match Mama says

My son (in culinary school) and I have been watching Julia too and we just love it!

Shay- my aunt and girl cousins are headed for a “girls trip” Mothers Day weekend. The seven of us range in age from 79 to 35. I would like to take each one a small gift to help remember our time together. I would like to keep the price around $20 each. I would appreciate any suggestions you have to offer. Thank you!
Susan (one of the big girls)

What about a little initial necklace? Etsy has so many great ones at great prices. Each little necklace could have their initial on it. I love personal things like that.

Happy Friday! I was just about to purchase the Ugg slippers but then…I looked at the reviews! They are SO BAD! Everyone says they wear thin after 3 days! Have you had any issues with this at all? The reviews are a few years old, so maybe they’ve changed the way they are made–but I’d prefer first-hand experience from you! Any issues you’ve noticed?!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love mine. I honestly love, love, love mine! I have had zero issues and even put them in the washing machine and dryer on occasion!
Chrissy says
Thanks, then I’ll trust your judgement!! 🙂

hi Shay, could you point me in the direction of the smart device that alerts to water leaks in the house? You shared it a few months ago, but I’ve lost track of the link. Thank you 🙂

Hi Shay! Which color is your Easter dress-navy or sapphire? Thanks! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s the navy!

Unrelated to this post, but I just moved to Mckinney from Austin and LOVE it! If I ever see you around do I say hi or is that weird? ?
Mix and Match Mama says
Please, please, please say hi!!! I would love that!!!
Kim says
Uggggg……I was hoping that I could go with your recommendation for the slippers, but I just can’t let myself spend $90 on slippers! If you end up hearing about anything similar with a lower price point, please let me know! Love your ESter dress recommendation though!
Mix and Match Mama says
I know they’re pricy but they last forever and they wash and dry in the machine SO WELL! I tried a pair from Soma and a pair from Amazon that were less and returned both because they just didn’t compare.
Lindsay Miller says
You can wash and dry slippers?! My mind is BLOWN! What what what. I have the other style of ugh slippers you recommended and LOVE. My feet thank me every morning for them. They were getting yucky and now I’m totally going to wash and dry them tomorrow!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!!! I don’t do it often, just as needed.
Kate says
I have to agree with this. Uggg are expensive but last forever! My regular Ugg boots are over 10 years old and I wear them all the time and they still look pretty new. You also convinced me to get the slippers and I LOVE them!!
Leiah says
Can you tell me your thoughts on the always pan?? I’ve heard such mixed reviews, and a lot of people saying the non stick wears off really fast. How often do you use yours and how are they holding up? Thank you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve had mine over a year now and it’s still fabulous. I even put mine in the dishwasher after each use and it still holds up. I really love it…but I use the Perfect Pot even more. The size of that one is just perfection for my family of six.
Ginny Belousek says
Shay I love your Easter dress. I bought it in black after you showcased it after your Hawaii trip but returned it because the material was so staticky and clingy. Now I want to buy it again after seeing you in the Navy! Any suggestions for the static cling? Or maybe I just got a bad one?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think maybe you got a dud?! (Or did I get a really fab one??) Let me know how your next one turns out! I really, really love mine!
Lindsay B. Miller says
Speaking of gifting — I would LOVE to hear you and Erika’s take on gift giving like year round (maybe a podcast one day??? Or blog post???) I know y’all have talked hosting parties and gift giving at Christmas. But I would love to know your “loose rules” or guidance on gift giving during the year. I feel like I haven’t gotten in my “groove” yet. Like who do you give to on birthdays (which friends, which family members), Mother’s Day (only your mothers or grandmothers, greats, or all??), Father’s Day, etc. One year I’m like Oprah “you get a gift, you get a gift, EVERYONE gets a gift” and then the next year I’m like wait don’t go overboard and get overwhelmed like last year! So it varies year to year. And I thrive off consistency (type 8 over here!) and I just can’t get my “loose rules” consistent on my gift giving. I want the gift to be from the heart and genuine so it’s just hard because I feel all over the place! Also Mother’s Day plans. . . Do you celebrate with your mothers or just focus on you being a mother and celebrate with your own children? Birthdays. . . Do you make it a point to spend birthdays with everyone on their birthday? I packed a lot in that comment. . . Sorry!

Ooh, I like the hem on that dress! Definitely thought was going to be more expensive than it is! 🙂
