Hey, hey, hey!

Friends, it’s my birthday!

You know what?  I really, really, really loved being 40.  Everyone who told me turning 40 was fabulous…well, they were correct.  It was a great year, so needless to say, I am very excited to see what 41 is like now too. 🙂

I saw this meme over the weekend and…

…could not stop laughing.

Apparently, this is 41, friends.  Cheers to another year hanging out in my favorite grocery store.

    I also just wanted to give a brief update on my Rachel because I know so many of your readers have been praying….she had her 1 year mammogram, which was normal! Praise the Lord! She also had her 1 year oncologist appointment check up which was also great! We are so thankful for the many answered prayers for our girl. I noticed the cinnamon brooms, the fabric pumpkins, the pretty floral department, the pumpkin spice display…I’ve seen this all before but I really took it in and had the best feeling come over me!     I was listening to the podcast and I am an American that has lived in the Middle East for the past few years and I wanted to talk about a few things that you (Shay) brought up. The BEST thing about the Middle East is that it is full of culture. As an EXPAT living in the ME, I called Bahrain my home. I loved the culture. Imagine if you moved to London and immersed yourself in the culture for a few years, I am sure you would talk about London like you lived there. Until you have been an expat living in a country you love, you probably just can’t grasp it.

    The other thing…yes, there are rules, strict rules. On the flip side, I was respected as a woman. I didnt wait in a single line anywhere because the men RESPECT women and dont believe they should be standing in a line. The men hold doors, they help you load your groceries. While it may seem foreign to a White Anglo Protestant from Dallas, its very VERY normal for a large majority of the world. 🙂

    You should travel to Dubai and report back. Its an incredible travel destination. 🙂 Hope this helps open your eyes a little bit to the magic of the Middle East. 🙂
