Awwwwwww! Hello Wednesday!
After a nice little fall break, the kiddos officially went back to school today, so I thought I’d pop in with a little this and that around our house this fall.
FYI, I’m in complete denial that today is October 12th.
September and October have FLOWN BY at a crazy speed, and I really just need time to stand still a bit so I can savor the pumpkin spice. I just loooooove this time of year SO MUCH! On Monday morning, as we drove from Hyannis to Boston (about an hour and 20 minute drive), I just soaked up every little bit of foliage. We looked at the trees, every.last.one.of.them, and commented on the colors and the beauty.
It is truly just a beautiful time of year and makes my heart so full.
In between Disney World, Munich, London and Nantucket, I’ve been trying to enjoy all the fall things at home as much as possible.
Here’s a little bit of what we’ve been up to…
Woohoo!!!!!! I made it to the New Testament! As you know, I’ve been doing The Bible Recap all year long and LOVING IT! This is my first time to read through the Bible chronologically (I’ve done it twice before but not the chronological plan). You can read all about it HERE, buuuut I much, much, much prefer this method of reading through the Bible. That being said, I love the first half of the Old Testament so much, but about July, I was very ready to move from the major and minor prophets (God bless them, but wow, that’s a lot to take in!) and get to Jesus. On October 1st, we got to Jesus 🙂 . The New Testament began, and I was oh so giddy to hop right on in.
As a reminder (and again, read HERE to see my complete break down of The Bible Recap), but you don’t have to wait until January 1st! You can start today as the days are numbered and not by date.
Kensington got to do something fun this fall…
…Tab officiated a Bears game one Sunday afternoon and invited the big girls to tag along. He picked them up after school on Friday, they flew to Chicago that night, he spoiled them all day Saturday doing fun things and then they got to go to the game Sunday afternoon before flying home. We are all so happy to ride Tab’s coattails. Hahaha!
We were having an after school chat on the floor the other day, and I looked at her and said “Mades, I have to take your picture. You’re just so cute and FALL sitting here talking to me.”. She’s loving second grade. It’s been a really sweet year for her already.
Current view most days. 🙂
We are loving football season! Smith plays, Kensington cheers, the little girls run around with their friends and on this night, I had concession stand duty. These two circled like vultures the entire time. The mistook “mom volunteering to help with the concession stand” as “mom has access to all the food, so it’s basically a buffet”. These two are living their best “little sis” lives right now.
It’s been a busy, busy travel season for me, and I’ve had so many DMs requesting more deets on what I’ve been packing. This fall, I’ve been packing lots of neutrals. They layer well, they go with everything and every occasion too.
Here are a few pics I snapped prior to our trip to Europe…
Warm Coat: I’ve had it years and it’s currently 35% off!
Super soft sweater: This one comes in so many other colors too!
Classic jeans: Mine are Rag & Bone from last year
Felt hat: Again, this one is from last year but I loved it so much that I bought it in two colors!
Comfy boots: I cannot rave about these boots enough! I walked miles and miles and miles in them this fall while traveling! Plus, they’re super cute too!
Neutral crossbody bag: I always take one with me! I love this Gucci one in particular because it comes with two different straps (casual and more dressy).
One more look for us…
Puffer jacket: How many times have I gushed about this puffer?! Too many to count! I love it!
Ray-Bans: Always!
Turtleneck bodysuit: I love this one so much that I bought it twice!
Black jeans: Again, oldies but goodies that I love!
And then (again!):
Neutral crossbody bag
And then I looked back at everything I packed for both big fall trips and made one big collage of all the items I that I loved and wore on repeat (so many of them on sale!!)…

I noticed a Carmel type color Patagonia I think in Nantucket. Do you have a link for that? Love the color! And I purchased the vionic fall boots, they are amazing! I love finding new brands, I even found their shop nearby!

I actually bought it there! It’s this one here. For years, I’ve had it in white as well and love it so much that I bought a second color. My favorite part is how easy you can wash and dry it. https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-nano-puff-jacket/84217.html?dwvar_84217_color=SEQR&cgid=root

Just checking if there was a September Book Review? I haven’t had time to read (sadly) but I enjoy seeing what you’re reading and getting recos from others.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m so sorry! I mentioned it in a previous post but I’m going to combine September with October this month and this month only. I promise not to do it again!
Lara Kessler says
Haha! I keep coming to see where the book review is, too! LOL. Book worms unite. Can’t wait for the extra long book review on Nov 1st!

Hey! This is unrelated to all of your cute fall things, but we recently got a puppy and I’m wondering how you ask your groomer to cut your cute dog to look like this!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww! It’s called “the puppy cut”. So, even our older dogs get it!

I could have written that whole Bible Recap paragraph myself! Felt the exact same way. TLC’s recaps helped…. But 😅 So glad to be in the NT🙌🏻

I love this! I’m traveling to Paris at the beginning of December and have been on the hunt for things to wear- I know it’ll be cold, but need cute things! I’d love some suggestions for days when we are out exploring.

Thank you so much for providing the link for the Gucci bag. I love your bags and sometimes I can’t find what you are wearing on the Websites. I am on the hunt for a designer cross body as a “congratulations you made it to year 15 teaching” gift haha!
