A little bit of life lately for your Thursday.
Miss Madeley is all smiles. She’s really into scootin’ around on this thing most days.
These two stole my phone while we were outside…and this is what I found on my camera roll. xo
Every class at Ashby’s school spends the month of March studying one particular country and then at the end of the month, the parents all come to tour “around the world”. Well, this year, Ashby’s teachers selected China as their country and our sweet girl had a ball! I brought up some items we brought back with us from our trips to China and Ashby shared, plus they even studied Xi’an specifically (the city where Ashby is from). The day the parents came, they had Chinese food for everyone to taste and so many crafts the students had made about China. Here Ashby is posing with the class’s Terra Cotta Warriors…remember those…
…we visited the real things when we went to Xi’an to get Ashby!
High heels, check. Baby in a stroller, check. The cutest little mommy around, check, check!
Some days, we stay in our pajamas and scoot around the driveway.
She LOVES to “ride” her bike!
Lunch outside with my lovely girls.
Samuel came to Ashby’s t-ball game on Friday night. Here is what I think is going on in their heads. Madeley: Samuel, we do not suck our thumb.
Madeley: Samuel, look at my mommy and smile for the camera.
Samuel: Please leave me alone.
Samuel: Thanks for rescuing me Aunt Shay.
Samuel: She’s back.
Samuel: Sigh.
After Ashby and Bowen’s t-ball game, we went to the new custard place in town to try it out.
Big group picture! It wasn’t until later that I realized Nixon was not in the picture. I swear he was there! Where did he go?!
Chilly Saturday morning snuggles in the stands with my big and little watching Smith play baseball.
Smith totally had that coming. 😉
After the big kids’ game, the little kids had one…and sweet Nixon played with Madeley the whole time. Here he is rolling a baseball back and forth to her. They’re so sweet together!
On Saturday night, my parents hosted Andrew’s birthday party. I felt extremely blessed to be there with my grandparents. Love them all so much!
It was a fiesta theme! The food was delish!
He makes 36 look so good!
Papa Jay with his two grandbabies!
She’s learned how to swing herself :). The thing is, she can’t get up on the swing by herself (because that requires using two hands and she can’t put pressure on her right hand)…but, once she’s up there, she can swing high all day long.
It never gets old spending my days with this one. (And pssssst: several people asked about my top, it’s from Loft 🙂 .
That’s a little life lately.

Such a random question, but do you do anything special to keep your granite countertops so clean? I find mine sometimes streaking but am not sure what to use.
Mix and Match Mama says
I use 409 for granite (it comes in a grey and black bottle). Until I found that, everything else made streaks too!

So, Ashby looks about 12 in some of those pics. And Samuel is so stinkin’ cute!! He looks so much like Catherine, but has Sean’s features (blue eyes/blonde hair). Looks like he and Madeley will have a special bond, too.

Such a beautiful collage of your week! I love the paint color on your Island in the picture of Madeley. Do you by chance remember the paint color name? I’ve been on a hunt for a color like that. My husband built me a barn door in front of my laundry room/pantry That color would be perfect for the door and my island.
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s a blend. Boo. Sorry! It’s finished with black though when they antiqued it.

Shay – I had to share this with you: https://youtu.be/15ttUu6pE8g – 10 wardrobe essentials for French style by
Justine Leconte officiel – I just stumbled upon this fashion designer on youtube – a fascinating young french lady with lots of fun fashion advice. As a fellow ‘francophile’ I thought of you immediately – (maybe someday my three years of high school French will be of use, lol). Bless you and your sweet family. (Enjoyed your happy hour talk with Jamie Ivey btw.) A Fort Worth friend. 🙂
