Happy Sunday, friends!
This morning after breakfast, we packed our bags and drove out of Paris to one of my family’s favorite towns…Honfleur, France. This seaside town sits about two hours north of Paris in the Normandy region of France. My mom and dad LOVE to come here, but since we’ve been married, Andrew and I haven’t been to Honfleur. Needless to say, we are so excited to be here 🙂 .
We rented a car this morning and Andrew drove us up. It was a BEAUTIFUL drive through the French countryside. We arrived, checked into our hotel (more on that later on…it’s SO FABULOUS!) and headed straight to town…
Oh Honfleur, you are beautiful.
I love this guy.
Perhaps the biggest macaron I’ve ever enjoyed 🙂 .
Lunch started with the most perfect platter.
We try really hard never to order the same thing at a restaurant, but today, we both wanted the steak with frites.
Traveling with my man.
Just a little bit from Honfleur.
If you missed the first two posts from Paris, make sure you head back and check out PART 1 and PART 2!
I’ve been looking over my DMs and messages. I’ve had a lot of questions about things I’ve been wearing this week. Here is quick round up of things…
MY FURRY COAT and SEQUIN SKIRT are oh so fun!
These BOOTS! You guys! I am obsessed with them and right now, they’re on sale!
See this outfit here? I walked 10 MILES in THESE BOOTS, LEGGINGS and SWEATER (also on sale!). So comfy!
FUR COAT, ONE SHOULDER BODYSUIT, PAPERBAG PANTS and HEELS for the win!
Here it is without the coat.
And today’s #ootd in Honfleur. my favorite JEANS, BOOTS and SWEATER (on sale!).
I hope you’ve all had a great Sunday! I’ll see you back here tomorrow! xx

How do you navigate the languages in the various countries you visit with all signs, etc in a foreign language?
Mix and Match Mama says
The only time language has been really challenging were our three trips to Asia as the characters are so different from our written language. In Europe, it’s pretty easy.
Kristine says
How much luggage do you each bring? That’s a lot of coats and shoes. Do you pay for extra bags?
Mix and Match Mama says
We are each allowed three checked bags with our status with American Airlines…but we each only took one.

Absolutely loving these posts!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the food/historical tours. We will have to book them from now on! You look stunning in your fur coat!!! And that macaron looks yummy!! When my mom took my niece to France for her graduation gift, they feel in love with macarons!!! 🙂 You are making France jump up higher on my list of places to visit!!!! Have so much fun!!

Shay, will you please tell us how you go on all these trips and eat all this food and never gain a pound? What is your secret? Please share and have so much fun!

High tide. Low tide the boats sit on the muddy bottom. When I was there a million years ago, you could bring your dog to the cafe but not your kid. Will you go to Givenchy on the way back? Thanks for the vicarious visit!
Joan Walton says
Ooops….I meant Giverny of course.

Shay! In the past 12 months alone, I have traveled to 10+ countries. Several of those more than once. All with our 5 year old and one year old daughters as our sidekicks! I also flew 18 hrs solo with both of them on my own 4x! I am just reflecting back and had to share with someone who would appreciate that LOL! Loving these posts and look forward to the day my hubby and I can travel together! Ok, off to nap………..

OK- loving this. Might need to go to Paris next January for my 35th! Question: do you feel nervous carrying designer bags in a big city like Paris with some history of street theft, etc.?
Mix and Match Mama says
I personally do not feel unsafe doing it. I know that there is a chance something might happen to it, but so far, I haven’t had any issues, so I continue to do it. We would love to help you again, Kayla! 🙂

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. A great YouTube channel you might like is about a sweet family that are renovating a chateau near Honfleur. The channel is called “How to renovate a chateau”.

That looks like such an adorable area to explore! As much as I always wanted to visit Paris (and loved it!) I much preferred the French countryside.

Loving all of the updates from France! I hope y’all are having a fabulous time!

that is such a wonderful idea to get out and visit another town. Did you go back to the airport to rent the car? Already had it? Or were you able to rent the car within Paris? I always felt like I needed to rent the car the entire time or not at all but this made me rethink that method. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
We rented our car on Saturday and returned it today from a rental here in central Paris (not the airport).
