What’s Up Wednesday {August 2023}

Happy What’s Up Wednesday!

You guys, August is almost over (I’ve officially decided it’s the longest month of the year…probably like you northern friends think January is the longest…), and it’s almost time for SEPTEMBER!

I love September.

You know I love September.

I’m giddy just typing the word SEPTEMBER 🙂 .

Okay, as always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now.  It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

Here we go…

Mondays seem to be our busiest night of the week right now.  This last Monday, Andrew made my SAUSAGE AND BACON PASTA while I was at soccer practice with Ashby.  It was delish!

On Tuesday, I was making a new recipe..so stay tuned for that and then tonight…

…we’re having my SUPER SIMPLE CHICKEN & MUSHROOM FRIED RICE!

Tomorrow night…

…we are going to grill CHEESEBURGERS to kick off our kids’ four day weekend!

Awwwwww!   I keep thinking about this time last year when Kensington and I were gearing up for her 14th birthday in Walt Disney World!  One on one time with my kiddos is just MY FAVORITE THING!

This year is Kensington’s GOLDEN BIRTHDAY (when your birthday falls on the day of the month you were born), and she’ll be 15 on the 15th which is also her high school’s homecoming, so no trip to Disney this year.  I’m so happy I have the memories from last year.  It was truly such a special trip.

I swear I heard the Hallelujah Chorus when I walked in. 😉

What do you order when the fall drinks arrive?  I love a PSL, but my typical order is a Venti Pike with a splash of cream and one pump of the pumpkin spice.

Lots of “normal” life.  Here I am leaving one teenager’s room…

…bedhead and smiles after a night camping out on our floor…

…both girls got haircuts.  Ashby wanted a trim and Miss Mades wanted her hair shorter.  They were both so excited with the results!

High school football is in full swing which means, so is high school cheer!

We are already having so much fun watching our girl do her thing!

On Friday night, we had the varsity game, and Andrew and I brought six freshman with us 🙂 .  Going to these games has a whole new meaning now that we have a student there!  One more week until middle school football starts and then, we get triple the fun each week (Smith’s game, Kensington’s freshman game and the varsity game!).  If you’re looking for us, we’re probably sitting on a bleacher.

Andrew drove past us on Monday.  I was walking the dogs, and he was smirking that he wasn’t.  He loves to say that I am a dog lover and he is only a dog owner.  I do love my dogs.  Just look!  Right this very minute as I type these words…

…that face!  Ugh.  I love her.

Okay, I thought I had blogged about this show before, but I couldn’t find it, so maybe I haven’t.  If you’re looking for a funny/quick/smart/original scripted show…

…you need to try Derry Girls on Netflix.  I started watching this last year but am just now getting caught up with the latest season.  This show reminds me of Ted Lasso as it really feels fresh and original.  Just like Lasso, because of one funny character, there is some language in this, so I’m not recommending it for families, but if you’re looking for a new show with excellent music from the 90s, here you go.  I laugh every single time I watch.

Because Steve Tyrell Radio just makes me think of fall 🙂 .

I know, I know, I know…THIS JACKET AGAIN, but you guys, I’ve had it now for several years and keep wearing it.  I wore it just this week to yoga!  It really is such a good Lulu dupe!

There’s plenty of room to go over my Apple Watch and on my fingers too.  I love it!

I also love…

…THIS TOP because it’s transitional without being too hot.  The price is really great too!

Speaking of tops…

…I could wear this outfit on repeat!  A SHORT SLEEVE SWEATER (super light!), JEANS and BOOTS.  Did someone say pulled together for fall?!

And speaking of pulled together for FALL…

…hellllllllo fall outfit!

I clearly did not wear this anywhere because it’s a million degrees outside, but when it arrived, I loved it so much that I wanted you to see.  JEANS (I bought the ‘short’ length), JACKET (I bought xs petite; it comes in four other colors too!), BODYSUIT and BOOTIES= my fall uniform on repeat 🙂 .

Here we are on Memorial Day, and we’re bookending the summer by partying on Labor Day too 🙂 .  Love these Lowe peeps!

Well, I have THE MOST AMAZING TEAM EVER here at Mix and Match Travel Agency.  I set a really high bar for us this year, and they’ve already gone above and beyond which means, we are going to celebrate.

How do a bunch of travel agents celebrate?

Why on vacation, of course!

I’m VERY excited about our office trip this month!

And look!!  I pre-ordered this HOCUS POCUS COOKBOOK FOR KIDS (arriving September 12th), and I just know my family will get a kick out of these recipes.  I can’t wait for it to arrive!
