Happy happy Saturday, friends!
We’ve had a big weekend already, and it’s only Saturday morning. Agh!
Yesterday was Kensington’s 15th birthday, the homecoming pep rally (yes, another one…), and then last night was the homecoming football game. Needless to say, it was double the fun all day!
Today is our last day of this homecoming marathon (seriously, I should have hydrated more, slept more and cleared my calendar more…I had no idea being a parent during homecoming week was so INTENSE!), and then tomorrow, I’m heading to church and taking me a big old nap in front of football on TV.
Here’s hoping you are having the loveliest start to your September Saturday! Sending you so much love from my weekend to yours! xx
Speaking of Homecoming, it’s been a week of activities at our house starting with…
…the wall that I helped decorate last Sunday. The HOCO theme this year is “under the sea” and the cheer moms were tasked with the largest portion of the school’s hallways to decorate. The entire thing was amazing, but I only have a picture of the one wall I was a part of this week. You guys, please admire it. It took a long time to put together. 😉
On Wednesday…
…we all headed to the Blackout Pep Rally as a family!
Just an FYI: that glow in the dark paint still hasn’t fully come off my girls. They don’t care at all though because they are LOVING their new high school lives 😉 .
We were there to cheer for our favorite cheerleader!
Such a super fun night!
Andrew and about five of the other dads were in charge of the lighting, and they did SUCH a great job if I do say so myself!
On Thursday night, we had the freshman game too 🙂 .
And then yesterday afternoon…
…one final homecoming pep rally before the big game!
Um, how cute is this oversized tee?! TREAT OR TREAT is right!
You guys, I bought it in an xs, and as you can see, it is “over sized”. It’s so soft and comfy too!
After a long day of Homecoming Hall Decorating on Sunday, I came home and my sweet Mades asked me if I wanted to watch Hocus Pocus 2 with her. Um, how does one say no to that?!
We snuggled in and watched. The original movie will always be my very favorite, but the second one is also adorable too. If your family needs a movie marathon this weekend, I recommend both!
Friends, I’m so excited about my BIBLE RECAP GROUP this year! It has been SUCH A BLESSING TO ME! If you haven’t joined us, don’t forget, you can start from the beginning any time OR you can start on October 1st with us as we dive into the New Testament. Either way, we would love to have you!
I bought myself a cute (and personal!) new clear bag for all of these football games 🙂 . I am officially stadium ready!
Also…
…how cute is MY PULLOVER?!
So cute, right?! It has one big pocket across the front (that zips up so it’s not bulky) and the thumb thing too (what is that called?!). It comes in other colors and is an Old Navy find! Woohoo! I bought it in xs (runs TTS). Such a good find!
Speaking of Old Navy…
…you guys, YOU KNOW I LOVE THEIR PUFFER VESTS and right now, THEY’RE ON SALE! I have been buying/wearing/sharing Gap/Old Navy’s PUFFER VESTS since 2015, friends. The quality is outstanding, they last forever, and you can wash and dry them a million times. I know you can pay much more for a good puffer vest, but I’ve yet to find one I love more than THESE.
Take your basic workout-wear, add a PUFFER VEST and you’ve instantly added warmth and adorableness 🙂 . You can find MY TOP HERE (on major sale!) and MY NIKES HERE too.
If you’re looking for a few other sales this weekend, I have you covered…
…here are some other great FALL STAPLES ON SALE as well as…
…a FEW MORE HERE…
…and DENIM ON SALE too!
Friends, WE LOVE BANFF!
We love our neighbors to the north and especially love beautiful Banff, Canada.
If you are interested in visiting, we would love to help!
Please reach out to Mix and Match Travel Agency today for more information on this or any of our other incredible vacation destinations!
Finally, Ashby and my mom visited the book fair at their school and look what they bought for me 🙂 . Is this cookbook perfect or what?! How sweet that my mama and my daughter saw a pumpkin cookbook and immediately thought of me. Love those two.
You guys, I’m off to soccer, volleyball and the last day of HOCO festivities! I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful weekend! I’ll see you on Monday! xx

Facebook memories today reminded me of when our daughter was on Homecoming Court AND in marching band. If any of your kids are ever on court, completely clear your calendar and definitely hydrate!! But what fun times, and you will miss them when they are over, though you will at the same time enjoy having a clearer calendar. Both/and. I just discovered yesterday that I will be out of town when the marching band our kids were in has its annual Lights Out show, and I am so sad that I will be missing it. I swear those kids play better in the dark. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re having so much fun, or if they like the anonymity. It’s so much fun watching all of the lights march all around the field Your hallway decoration is gorgeous.
Have a great day, and I hope you get to relax on Sunday!!

This gave me all the feels, Kristin!! Happy weekend to YOU!!

What a busy week! But so fun! Where do you get your call graphic t shirts from?

Mix and Match Mama says
The schools sell them as fundraisers! Do you mean those? Other graphic tees we have, I buy off of Etsy 🙂 .

Thank you for the shout out to Banff! I live in Canada and it just doesn’t get the recognition it deserves! Banff is beautiful and has so much to see and do! I have been reading your blog for 10 years and love it! Just so jealous we don’t have Trader Joes here. Blessings to you and yours!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, how blessed are you?! What a beautiful place to call home! xx

I have a favour to ask about your beautiful pendants from The Love Shack in Nantucket. Would you mind showing what size you have in your various styles? I love the way one bold statement pendant looks, but I don’t want it too bold, you know? Do you wear them always on the same chain? Thanks so much and I hope you have a lovely, satisfying afternoon nap on Sunday!
Mix and Match Mama says
I can certainly do that!! Happy to help! xx

So many fun fall activities! Love reading your posts:) And yay for Hocus Pocus! That’s on my watchlist this weekend, as well. Another fall fav watch for kiddos and 90s “kids” alike – Casper! Can’t beat Christina Ricci and Devon Sawa;)
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t watched Casper in years!!! Great rec!! Thank YOU!

You had mentioned that your daughter was wanting a kitten but is allergic to cats. Have you ever seen those “feel like real” kittens and puppies — some even have a battery in them to look like they are breathing. They really look real and no allergy to them. Amazon has them as well as some specialty shops online.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m looking that up right now! Thank you!!

Does their HS require everyone to bring in only clear bags or do you mean you are going to see pro football games in a stadium? Also, how did the lights get projected onto the girls cheering? It looks so dark yet so glowy!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes, our school district has a clear bag policy for any and all sporting events at every level (volleyball, track, basketball, swim, etc). And our dads had these black lights that were portable, so they set them up (some were battery operated, some ran with extension cords) facing them when it was time for them to perform.

I remember the cheerleader mom days and they were fun but oh so busy! Enjoy every single minute!!! People have no idea how everything just gets done. It’s parents!!!!
Jen says
Okay so my main point is, I had no idea Homecoming was such an obligation for the PARENTS. I hope you knew what you were getting in for!! 😉
But the real thing I can’t stop giggling at are the discarded socks on your hearth. What is with all the socks. Why are they always EVERYWHERE in my house..?!?!
Mix and Match Mama says
Socks are never on feet or paired together in a drawer at my house. EVER! And no, we had zero idea what we were in for. Andrew mentioned this many times last week 😉 .

I have said for years – there is NO tired like Homecoming tired LOL

This entire post just gave me all the homecoming/fall feels I didn’t know I needed. It took me back to my high school days. Lol reminiscing for real. Homecoming pep rally’s, parades, hallways, floats, dance, and etc. i cheered all through school and I tried to get my girls to cheer but they are in to horseback riding (so out of my comfort zone) lol I love that they love it but miss this so much!! Tell me do they still have homecoming parade with homecoming court?!I remember we wore business suits in the parade LOL that was 2002 old school
Mix and Match Mama says
No parade, but yes to a court! We had a parade when I was in high school, and I always loved it.
