Hey, hey, hey Friday!
My tree is up. My carols are playing. My lights are twinkling. My mug has a snowman on it.
I am ready to settle in and enjoy this most wonderful time of the year.
I missed you yesterday, but I certainly needed the extra time. Thank you, thank you all for being back here today 🙂 .
Today’s post is part Halloween recap, part Faves, and as always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Don’t forget, I will be back here tomorrow for a bonus SATURDAY POST!
Until then, Happy Friday! xx
Like I said on Tuesday, Halloween this year was very different, but it was still oh so fun!
Let’s first back up to Monday night: Per tradition, ’twas the night before Halloween and we carved our jack-o-lanterns, watched The Addams Family, had a yummy dinner and…
…embraced being “those people” in the neighborhood.
We genuinely love this time of year 🙂 .
While I was making dinner, the five of them carved their jacks!
Awwwww! She was so happy with this one.
Ashby was so happy too 🙂 .
On Halloween, after school, my parents came over to kick off the fun early…
…geez, I love my mom. How cute is her outfit?!
Kensington went to our neighbors’ house for a fun Halloween party, but before she walked down, we…
…got a picture of my three eras of Taylor Swift. Listen, I have been begging them FOR YEARS to be the Sanderson sisters but they never want to match. This year, I randomly said they should all be different eras of Taylor Swift and you would have thought I was a genius. I mean…who understands the logic, but they were all so cute and so excited for their Halloween.
We bundled up with Papa Jay and Lovie and headed out to trick or treat…
…I love these two girls SO MUCH!
Our neighbors went above and beyond with yard decorations and spooktacular fun this year.
They were so sweet going door to door together.
We were out for almost two full hours…
…Kensington had a scavenger hunt at her party, so we saw her and her friends running around throughout the night too which made things extra special.
Meanwhile, since all Shulls should be photographed on Halloween…
…Smith and Andrew had a wonderful time at their 8th grade football game! They came home with a big WIN so needless to say we were all on victory AND sugar highs that night.
Speaking of that night…
…did I put on my Christmas pjs? YOU BETTER BELIEVE I DID! Right now both MY WAFFLE-KNIT LEGGINGS and my COZY SWEATSHIRT are on MAJOR SALE!! These leggings come in so many adorable holiday prints!!
I am a HUGE FAN of holiday pajamas…
THIS PAJAMA SET is so very soft!! I bought it in the cute multi fairisle print, but they come in other holiday prints and even solid options too. I love MY BEANIE and SLIPPERS too!
And of course, MY ROBE 🙂 .
And one more set for your Friday…
FAMILY PAJAMAS! How cute are we?! We are all ready to snuggle up and watch a movie in our matching jammies. You can find MY PAJAMAS and THE GIRLS here.
My OCTOBER BOOK REVIEW was Monday! If you missed it, make sure you go back and read it now. It’s always a favorite of mine each month.
Speaking of which…
I received a comment that day asking if I had a list of my FAVORITE CHRISTMAS BOOKS. I looked and looked and yup, I sure do! If you’re already excited to dive into holiday books, here you go…
Who doesn’t love a cozy holiday book by the tree?! It might be my favorite thing ever.
A little Nantucket for you today as well. As I mentioned last week, this off-season, we are working on the outside of our house…
…which includes all new shingles and a fresh paint job. It was a busy week over there…
…for those of you unfamiliar, the shingles go on this blonde color and then weather over time to the grey. This means, next time we visit, you’ll see photos of a blonde house for a bit…
…see? And then after a year or two, it will weather back into the grey.
See our next door neighbor’s house? They replaced theirs in May (notice the color is already starting to fade a bit).
The porch is about to get all sanded, painted and fixed up as well 🙂 .
Right now, my favorite hair care AND skin care is on sale! I always want to let you know when you can grab my faves at a discount. Right now, Colleen Rothschild is having their BUY MORE, SAVE MORE SALE. Don’t forget, I’m currently using: the shampoo and conditioner, Smooth & Shine Hair Serum, and Protect & Perfect Styling Cream on my hair.

RADIANT CLEANSING BALM + AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM + RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM + VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM

Wrap up your week with one of my delicious…
…MAPLE RECIPES!!!
From savory to sweet, breakfast to dinner…
…and dozens of recipes in between, it’s my MUST HAVE MAPLE RECIPES today!
One last bonus pic because I just found it, and it made me smile…
…three years ago this week and heading to school for Crazy Hair Day. How cute are these two?!
I’m off for my Friday! I’ll see you back here TOMORROW! xx

I think Christmas decor is going up at our house this weekend…I can’t wait!
Mix and Match Mama says
I support this wholeheartedly 🙂 .
Jen L. says
Looks like Halloween was fun in spite of the changes. The only two kids together were Nixon and Smith and they didn’t get to trick or treat…..🥲
Mix and Match Mama says
Kensington and Ebby Lee were together too at the party down the street 🙂 .
Jen L. says
Oh! That’s good. How fun for them.
Sheaffer says
So interesting about the shingles. I had no idea! And loved the pics of your crew on Halloween!
Erika Slaughter says
Oh my goodness! I didn’t realize you were re-shingling the whole house! That’s gonna look great! And now I’m off to buy new Christmas pajamas!
Kelly Olson says
Where was your Halloween costume? I always look forward to seeing your creative ideas, even if Andrew couldn’t be a part!
Mix and Match Mama says
Without my partner in crime (ie: Andrew), I didn’t do one this year. My parents dress up often as well, but this year, we decided just to be Swiftie fans 😉 .

I saw a TikTok that said you can spot a millennial because they front tuck everything…shirts, sweaters, pjs, etc. LOL!! It’s so true, but the thing about being a millennial is that i’m too old to care!! HA! Love ya shay!
Sandra Knight says
Do you have a link for the Vuori jacket Andrew is wearing? Thanks
Mix and Match Mama says
I do! It comes in three other colors too. https://shopstyle.it/l/b3mOO
Andrew is wearing XL.
Arika says
Does someone stay behind at your house to hand out candy, or do you leave a bowl on the porch for trick-or-treaters? Your neighborhood looks like such a fun Halloween spot!
Mix and Match Mama says
We left out a bowl. When we came back, the little girls answered the door for another hour or so and probably loved that just as much as going door to door 🙂 .
Natalie says
Aw your mama is so cute and in her Golden goosers (as my husband calls them 😂). I love love that robe. I have matching pants to that robe and now I need the robe, Shay! Looks like y’all had a fun, festive Halloween. Have a happy Friday!
Bailey Morris says
Wait… I’m cracking up. In the first pics of kids carving their pumpkins, I had to do a double take. I thought those were Andrew’s tiny feet. 😂😂😂
Mix and Match Mama says
I had to go back and look! Bahahaha!
Karen says
Can you tell us where you got those cute Halloween earrings in the first photo with your mom?
Mix and Match Mama says
A little boutique here in McKinney. Aren’t they festive?!
Aimee says
Shay, I have been thinking about your candy post from a while back. I live in PA, outside Philadelphia, with my 2 girls and husband. Every year, for the last 15 years, we have visited Hershey PA with our kids. (OK, so one of those years, I was pregnant with our first born ;). Because you are a TRAVEL AGENT, I feel you must have this information. While Boston and Mass are wonderful representations of the East Coast, please do not forget PA. And above all else, please take some time to research Hershey PA. You would absolutely love the Hershey Hotel Experience. (ALSO, THE SPA THERE!) Please also research MILTON Hershey. He was an incredible man and has done so much for SO MANY PEOPLE. Of course, Hershey Bars come from Hershey and you might change your mind about the taste of the chocolate after you take some time to consume it HERE. It tastes different, its fresh, it’s special, it’s just HERSHEY goodness you can’t find anywhere else. Please, for the love of all travel and the East Cost, do not skip over PA, PHILADELPHIA, and Most of all Hershey!!!. If your family hasn’t been here, buy tickets, STAT. You are all missing out!! I’m also certain it will change how you feel about the Hershey BAR and Hershey Chocolate, in general. (BTW – THIS is the most wonderful place on earth. There is NOTHING like Hershey PA!). Don’t forget to go to CHOCOLATE WORLD and also take the TROLLEY RIDE!!) There’s so much HISTORY in HERSHEY and in PHILLY TOO. PLEASE DON’T FORGET ABOUT US. YOU NEED TO VISIT!! Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for all you do 🙂 PS – Hershey Bars and Kisses, as well as many of their other products, are Gluten Free.
Mix and Match Mama says
I do need to spend more time there! I’ve been to Philly a few times, but you’re absolutely right, I need to explore more and more of your beautiful state.
Barb says
Shay, you didn’t mention the Texas Rangers won the World series!
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, they’re not my team, so I wasn’t watching. Hahaha!
Kristin says
Shay, just wanted to let you know that you stopped showing up in Feedly yesterday or today. Fortunately I get your emails, but it’s so nice to find all of my blogs in one spot. Hi Sugarplum and Cup of Jo also stopped showing up, and who knows who else. Sigh. Have a great weekend!
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmm…I don’t use Feedly, so I didn’t know. Can you let me know if it happens again next week? I’m not sure what I’ll do, but I’ll try to reach out to someone!
Kim Carberry says
It looks like you had a great Halloween! What great costumes.
I love those Christmas pj’s!!
