Happy What’s Up Wednesday from…
…Nantucket 🙂 . I popped up here yesterday afternoon…
…and was happy to trade the sunshine and warm weather for my favorite little island on a gray March day.
It’s kind of hard to believe that we’re wrapping up the month of March. Between spring break and now Easter, I feel like I blinked, and it was over. I’m not going to lie though…this just gets us one month closer to May and you guys all know how much I love me some May 😉 .
Okay as always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and I host this little linky party where we share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Here we go…
Have you made my CHICKEN & BROCCOLI FRIED RICE yet?! You guys, not only is it easy, it is SO DELISH! We had this on Monday night for dinner and from start to finish, it only took me about 25 minutes to get it on the table. Best life hack for this recipe? Use frozen rice. I buy mine at either Trader Joe’s or Walmart. Pull it out, microwave it, add it to your dish and bam, a very delicious dinner is done in no time.
Last night…
…I took myself and my book…
…and had a delicious dinner and perhaps one of my favorite restaurants on this planet 😉 .
Oh. My. Heart. This sweet little baby girl right here is now on the cusp of turning 16. I was thinking about this trip a lot over spring break as it was almost 15 years ago!
Four adults to one infant is really the only way one should travel with kids 😉 .
We took sweet baby Kensington to Hawaii in April 2009, but it feels like yesterday.
Babies don’t keep, y’all…
…babies don’t keep.
Literally, right this minute, while I’m typing this sentence I am wearing…
…THIS JACKET on my flight! Like I legit just took this selfie as I was typing this sentence. Ha!
I clearly cannot stop wearing it…
…because I wore it on Friday when I went to have lunch with my mom and dad (with my WHITE JEANS, TANK and SANDALS)…
…and I wore it to church on Sunday with my BLACK DRESS…
…and I wore it over my JUMPSUIT to a cheer meeting last Monday (but forgot to take a pic). This is the exact outfit that I’m re-wearing now…
…on my flight 🙂 . I love a comfy jumpsuit on a flight (especially flights that require I leave my house at 5:15 AM!).
This jacket is an Amazon find that comes in a variety of colors. I bought it in a size small in the color “light blue”.
Spring soccer has begun! Mades assumed the position on Saturday as little sis at yet another sibling sporting event.
Um, I’m sorry, doesn’t she just look SO BIG OUT THERE?! You guys, this kid is about to be in middle school! MIDDLE.SCHOOL.
First soccer game of the season success!
On Saturday, we headed to our town square and took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather! All four of my kiddos were with us, and if you have teens you know how truly special nights like those are for a mama.
We love our sweet little town square every night, but it’s especially fun on nights when the weather is gorgeous.
I’m already here, friends.
I keep telling myself “Eight more weeks, eight more weeks, eight more weeks.” I get SO GIDDY about the start of the school year and SO GIDDY about the end of it too.
Speaking of giddy…
…my dad bought me a new tee, and it’s so good, so good, so good! (If you know, you know 😉 ).
Opening Day for the Sox is tomorrow in Seattle. BRING ON BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!
If you’re a part of our BOOK CLUB and read…
…MARCH’S BOOK, then make sure you check out our BOOK CLUB CHAT.
If you missed it this month but want to read our pick for April…
…we are reading a memoir that is supposed to be VERY VERY interesting. I’m really excited about this one!
Our full MARCH BOOK REVIEW is coming up soon! Stay tuned for that as well!
What have I been watching?
I am about to start Season TWO…but right now, I’m watching…
…The Office while I finish up this blog post 🙂 .
I had such a mix this month…
I love a GAUZY TOP! This one comes in a gorgeous kelly green (and other colors!), but you know me…white called my name 🙂 . My SANDALS are also very comfy!
THIS DRESS is so cute and uber flattering (I love the cut!) and because it’s Zella, it’s so comfy too! I wore it to church on Sunday.
MY BEACH HAT is one of my very favorite Amazon purchases this year! I love that it comes in different sizes (because we all know that my GIANT head needs an XL!). I had it with me every single day of our trip, and it packed and held up so well. I can’t wait to wear it more this summer! If you want to make a custom necklace like mine (great for graduation gifts!), I bought mine HERE. This picture also reminds that perhaps the most popular DM this spring break was…
…”Where did Madeley get her watermelon swimsuit?”. SO MANY OF YOU ASKED! It’s right HERE 🙂 .
Speaking of which, don’t forget these ONE PIECE SWIMSUIT AND DRESS SETS! You get both the swimsuit and the cover up for one great price!
I absolutely could not get over the quality of THIS DRESS based on the price. This one is oh so very cute and comes in not only navy, but white, black, pink…seven other great colors too!
So many questions about THIS COVER UP! It’s on sale and also comes in a variety of colors.
STRIPED TEE? Yes, please!
And THIS COVER UP x 2! So, so cute!
Well…
…it’s EASTER WEEKEND! This is a photo from last year, and we’re so excited to host the family again this year too.
This pic here from last year…
…is one of my very faves 🙂 .
We have a fun, big and busy April starting with Andrew’s birthday on the 2nd! I used to not love April…in fact, I used to say it was my least favorite month…but that’s not the case any longer. I am in to you, April! I am very much in to you these days!
Want to know what was the #1 most purchased Amazon item on my blog this month?
This…
…WHOA! You guys, I am SO EXCITED about this! What this tells me is that so many of you (like me!) want to dig deeper into options for living your healthiest, best lives. If you missed my first post on Intermittent Fasting, go back and read it and then on April 8th, we’re going to have one big discussion on Cynthia Thurlow’s book. I am just so excited not to be walking this wellness road alone.
Okay, that wraps up this month’s What’s Up Wednesday!

Buying that hat right now–I also have a giant head lol. We are Irish American, and always have to get an XL here, but in Ireland, I was able to get a medium hahaha.

Did you read about the new study that came out about intermittent fasting links to cardiovascular disease? Might be worth taking a look! https://newsroom.heart.org/news/8-hour-time-restricted-eating-linked-to-a-91-higher-risk-of-cardiovascular-death
Debbra Weber says
As a Red Sox fan, do you have a link for that t-shirt?!! I love it!

Still reading Outlive, it’s a real eye opener. FYI to you thirty- somethings, start now and get healthy for the long haul. I waited way too long and now have to deal with the consequences of years of bad habits.

My last two book purchases have been based on your healthy posts – Outlive and Intermittent Fasting Transformation. Even at 65, I am finding ways to live a healthier version of me! So thankful you stepped out in faith to share things like this with us.

Wow! This comment just makes my heart so happy! I feel so blessed that you’re finding ways too! Thank you for sharing this. xx

Goodness, babies certainly do not keep! Our youngest is about to hit 16 and it is wrecking me.
We have three in college and their spring breaks do not match up. One of our college daughters was home recently so the youngest joined us for a quick mid-week road trip… we drove a few hours, the other college kids drove a few hours and we met up in the middle for dinner and a walk through Trader Joe’s. During dinner we facetimed dad who was back home. It was only a few hours with them but it was worth the drive and the late night trip back home.
For the past few weeks, we were on an RV trip that included a stop in Charlotte, NC for round one of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. On Saturday, our oldest son drove a few hours from his college to join us for those games and church on Sunday morning. Another quick visit but squeezing in that time is just precious to me.
Since I’ve been away, I have been catching up on your recent posts. The spring cleaning one caught my eye. I don’t necessarily have a top five or bottom five, but I can say I am not sentimental. We are in the process of downsizing from 4,700 square feet to about half that. Through the years I have done a good job of keeping bad clutter away… baby teeth, nope… old school papers, nope… old toys, nope. But what gets me is anything with a handprint. The kindergarten turkey made with my kids handprint, that stays… baby Jesus in a handprinted straw bed, Rudolph with handprint antlers, various birds, giraffes, goldfish and swans… yep, I have those too. The other stuff can go, but that container needs to be in my home.
I will add a disclaimer: our son has a collection of hot wheel cars and cool lego sets that cannot be replaced. Those are being kept for him to share with his kids one day. The same with some little people items, a barn and house and a few American Girl doll things for the girls to pass down. So maybe there is a small small sentimental piece in me somewhere.

Enjoy your time on Nantucket! I bet it’s pretty peaceful this time of year. Heading over to check out that fried rice right now; I have chicken thawing and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it…

Mix and Match Mama says
GIRL!!! The first thing Andrew said was “Why doesn’t McKinney do this for baseball?!”. It is SO NICE!!
Brittany says
My family LOVES the chicken and broccoli fried rice! My daughter requested it to be her birthday dinner and asks us to make it weekly! Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
