Hey, hey hey, it’s a TRIPLE POST TUESDAY!
Not only am I doing a little Nantucket recap today, but make sure you also check out my MAY READY WITH WALMART HOME and my CINCO DE MAYO MADE EASY!
You guys, we just had the BEST weekend. As you other mamas know, sometimes, you get your family together for dinner/an event/a trip/the drive to church, and it’s like putting four feral cats into one small pet carrier. Other times you get your family together, and they all actually enjoy each other and you remember why you have four children. This was the latter 🙂 . I don’t exactly know why this one felt extra nice, but it did and instead of trying to figure it out (there is no equation), I’m just. going to bask in the memories.
As you know, we heart all things happening on that little island, so we were extra, extra pumped when the stars aligned and everyone’s schedules allowed for us to visit Nantucket for Daffodil Weekend. I did asked my friends who live on island what to expect/what we should do/where we should go/what we should bring beforehand as I wanted to be prepared, and I’m so thankful that I did because, considering it was our first year, I feel like we did it “right”. Daffodil Weekend, to me, felt like one huge block party celebrating spring. More on that to come, but in a nutshell, that’s what it felt like, and we wanted to be a part of the festivities.
After school on Thursday, we loaded up and headed to DFW to catch an evening flight into Boston…
…my mama heart loves seeing my five favorite people ahead of me at the airport heading on a trip.
We grabbed dinner at the airport, flew to Boston and landed at midnight. From there, we took an Uber to a nearby airport hotel and checked in for the night…er…I mean a few hours. Due to the flight times, this was the best way for us to get to Nantucket early Friday morning instead of Friday night. We woke up at 5:30 AM on Friday morning, headed right back to the airport and caught the 8:00 AM flight to Nantucket…
…six Shulls and one pup on a prop plane over to Nantucket. This was the kids’ first time on a small propeller plane, and they loved it! It was a beautiful, cloudless, windless day for flying over.
We landed, dropped the kids off at home with Charlie (Kensington and Mades took a nap)…
…and Smith and I went to “the dump” while Andrew was picking up our beach permit from the city. You know, in all of my Elin Hildebrand novels when she’s describing how glamorous living on Nantucket is…she fails to mention that there is no residential public trash service, so one must always visit “the dump” to dispose of waste and recycling. Hahahaha! I think my favorite part of this place is that it’s legit called “the dump”. Nantucket has a way of “dressing” everything up to make it sound nice, so I think it’s hysterical that they call this as they see it 😉 .
Back home from my waste removal…
…and I found that Charlie has settled in nicely. The other three dogs were already scheduled to be watched for the weekend (since it was a quick trip), but we couldn’t leave our newest one after only knowing him three full days. He came along, and it was actually the PERFECT way for us to all get to know him. Kensington is attached at the hip to Frenchie and Yankee and Smith are two peas in a pod, so I’m not sure either of them would have had the time/taken the time to bond with Charlie. After four days of being the only dog, I can now promise you that he’s spoiled rotten and loved by all.
We decided to head into town around 12:30 for lunch and some lookin’ around…
…any other moms always in the back of the pack? I don’t mind because then I get to watch my peeps as I stroll.
They are LOVING being dog mamas to Charlie Nobadeer!
Nantucket was abloom in all things…
…YELLOW for the weekend!
See? Yellow everywhere!
After lunch, we stopped by…
…The Juice Bar which had just opened that day at 2:00 PM (after closing in October). We were excited that they were back up if even for only the weekend.
After being in town, we headed to…
…Bartlett’s Farm for provisions for the house (breakfast food, snacks, drinks), and then all the food we would need Saturday while watching the Daffodil parade.
Later that evening…
…family dinner at Sea Grille! I’m not going to lie, I thought MY DRESS was very much on point for the weekend 🙂 .
The coziest dinner spot for arrival night.
Love her…
…and love him too (his shirt was also on point!).
Okay, that’s PART ONE! I’ll have the other half later this week, but I didn’t want to inundate you with a million yellow pictures.
Don’t forget, make sure you also check out my MAY READY WITH WALMART HOME and my CINCO DE MAYO MADE EASY!
Happy THREE POST Tuesday! I’ll see you tomorrow! xx

Do you have a link or brand name for your navy jacket in front of Bartletts Farm? Love the length and style!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s Helly Hansen! I love it so much!

Helly Hanson Women’s Long Belfast Jacket
Sheaffer says
What a festive little weekend away! Can’t wait to follow along for the rest of the weekend!
Jaime says
Do Ashby and Madeley still order from the kids menu at resturants? Your kids all seem like such adventurous eaters! do you split adult meals?
Mix and Match Mama says
It depends on where we are. I would say Madeley does most of the time unless she wants a salad (that girl loves her a chicken Caesar salad), and Ashby is about 50/50 depending on how hungry she is/where we are.

My daughter gifted me our first trip to Nantucket for my 70th birthday for Daffy Weekend. We went to all your favorite places and we used so many of your recommendations! I was so hoping to meet you, as I enjoy your blog, posts, and read so many of the books you suggest. We stayed at the fabulous Nantucket Hotel and I met your lovely parents at breakfast Friday morning. They were precious and so welcoming! Thank you for all you share! It was a trip I will never forget!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwwww! Yay!!! What a wonderful birthday treat?! We just barely missed my parents. They left on the boat for Boston just as we were coming in. I’m so happy you got to see them!
Jamie Beckman says
Daffodils (buttercups here) have been my favorite since I was a little girl! We were there last year ant this time and loved all of the yellow and the Springy decorations!! We will definitely go again!!
Joanna says
Love the yellow bows/ribbons with the flowers! What a great idea and something I think I’ll add to my own as a pretty touch. Where did you get the standing lamp in your family pic? 🙂
Kacey says
“the dump” cracks me up!! There’s no service up at my family’s lake house and one of my Dad’s favorite activities is going to the “transfer station”! Gives him a few minutes away from a house full of girls! LOL
Mix and Match Mama says
I think that’s why Smith went with me 😉 .
Martha says
I love all your Nantucket posts and photos!! Nantucket is my most favorite vacation destination!! Thank you!!
Michelle Paradice says
I was there last weekend for my first time too.
My mom spent a lot of time on Natucket as a kid so it was so fun to go with her and have her show me where she stayed as a teenager. We also bumped into your sweet parents in a t-shirt shop. They were the nicest people. Your dad took a photo with us, and I forgot to ask him for a coy. I loved Daffy weekend and I love this island so much! It is so much fun to see your posts and know that I was also there. Can’t wait for part 2!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwww! I’m so happy you ran into my parents too!! I love that you have history there too!!
Court says
Do they not call them dumps in Texas? Maybe because I’m from the Northeast (and now live in the mid-Atlantic) and my mom is from Massachusetts but, I’ve only ever heard the place where you bring your trash called the dump LOL.
Mix and Match Mama says
I just feel like most of the things on Nantucket have cuter names…like it should be called ACK-tually Waste Removal or something like that. Everything else has a cute name except for The Dump.
Sarah says
“The dump” is a New England thing! Most towns have one. I never realized it wasn’t a normal thing until I moved away 🙂
Sara Alexander says
Oh, lol why do I find it interesting that no one has trash pick up! Any other neat tidbits about Nantucket like that? What is a beach permit needed for??
Can’t wait for part 2!
Mix and Match Mama says
I really like our time on Nantucket because it’s kind of a mix of small town, island town and New England town all thrown together out in the Atlantic…with The Dump 😉 . In order to drive your vehicle out on the sand (on the beaches that permit vehicles), you need a special permit on your car.
Erika Slaughter says
I LOVE all the pops of YELLOW throughout the town! SO cute!
Martha Marino says
I love all your Nantucket posts and photos!! Nantucket is my most favorite vacation destination. Thank you., looking forward to PART TWO!!
K.K. says
Oh so lovely!! Can’t wait for more yellow coming! 🙂 And very cute dress.
Rebecca says
Love your ACK posts & can’t wait for part 2! Does your Gucci crossbody have a red & pink center stripe?!?! If so what style is it please? That combo is so fun! Thanks!
BTW, last night I made your ranch tacos, they’re my husband & son’s favorites! Most of my cooking repertoire is your recipes, so thank you so much for them! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It has a red and navy stripe. I just went to their site to see if I could find it for you, but it’s no longer there.
And YAY!!!!! Thank you for sharing!
Rebecca says
You’re welcome, but seriously, THANK YOU! The majority of my recipes, both easy/quick-ish, week night dinners & baking, are yours! Also, I just made your provalone lasagna & it is & on regular rotation. 😉
♥️💙And, thanks for trying to find the crossbody, I’ll have to try to find a pre-loved one! ♥️💙
Kim Henrichs says
Oh my gosh this looks so fun!!
Suzanne Daub says
Have you picked up a copy of Yesterday’s Island/Today’s Nantucket and used Nantucket.net ?
In addition to our commercial pages, we have fun articles on island people, beach listings, info about lighthouses, a great online page on island biking, and the best events calendar.
I admit to being biased: these are 2 of our family-owned island guides, print & digital.
😎
Thank you!
Katie Compton says
I gotta know… what flavor did you get at The Juice Bar??? 😋
Mix and Match Mama says
Green Monster one day and Peanut Butter Cookie Dough the next! My two faves!!
