You guys know that we LOVE making crab cakes!! We make them year around but especially right now when we’re on Nantucket.
If you haven’t made crab cakes at home, they are SO EASY! It’s basically like making meatballs…you add everything in your bowl, shape them into your desired size and bake (or in this case, air fry).
We love our air fryer for pretty much every single thing, and even if it requires several batches, for us, it’s totally worth it to get that delicious crispiness. We use THIS AIR FRYER.
These crab cakes are suuuuuuper simple (only four ingredients!) and easily made gluten-free.
From my family to yours, happy crab cake making! xx

If you haven’t made crab cakes at home, they are SO EASY! It’s basically like making meatballs…you add everything in your bowl, shape them into your desired size and bake (or in this case, air fry).

Ingredients
- one pound of lump crab meat
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Italian breadcrumbs (we use g-free)
- a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add in your crab, egg and bread crumbs. Combine until well mixed and then shape into four “cakes”.
- Drizzle each crab cake with a little bit of EVOO and pop in the air fryer for 14 minutes at 390 degrees.
- Remove and serve. We served these with gluten-free pasta tossed in pesto. Easy as that!

Do you buy fresh crab meat? I bet it’s super fresh on Nantucket! I grew up on the coast of NC where we got fresh seafood all the time so I’m more picky about where I buy mine now.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I buy it canned in McKinney, but it’s super duper fresh here.

What kind of canned crabmeat do you buy? I’ve seen it refrigerated in a can and on shelf. Would you tell me the brand and details? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Right this very minute, I can’t think of the brand name, but we always buy it canned in the refrigerator shelf at the fish monger stand in my grocery store in McKinney (it’s packaged differently on Nantucket). It’s really easy to use! I don’t have any at home right now or else I’d look for you.

These look delicious! What kind of pasta do you have on the side? It looks like a yummy complement.
