Happy happy Friday, friends!
I saw this quote this week on Facebook and loved it SO MUCH…
…yes and yes.
Okay, as always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
I have a little bit of this and a little bit of that and a whole lot of happy.
Cheers to the weekend, friends! xx
Kensington really wanted to go on a mission trip this year, and her three favorite men said they’d go with her. Half my heart is in Nicaragua this week. This is for sure my VERY favorite thing.
When they set the dates to be in Nicaragua, I asked the little girls what they wanted to do while the other half was gone, and they said “be on Nantucket” which is why I flew back on Monday to spend the rest of the week up there with them. This week has also been one of my favorite things…
…we have had GORGEOUS weather most of the week which means they were able to get in more tennis. These two LOVE tennis! That afternoon, I told them they were in charge of our plans…
It was one of those weather days when I think “this must be what heaven will feel like”. It was perfection.
Clearly, candy was involved in our day 😉 . We enjoyed it while looking at the boats and doing a little early birthday shopping for Ashby.
Well, Twister has been a big hit this summer at our house!
It’s literally out right now. It’s out all the time. They are the Twister sisters.
On Wednesday, I asked them what they wanted to do, and they said “lunch on the beach”…
…we raided the pantry and fridge for “charcuterie” items (that’s what they wanted) and headed off to Cisco Beach.
All the necessities including my Kindle and…Twister. Bahahaha! I kid you not. They brought it.
I am down for a “charcuterie” lunch any day.
Later that night, we headed into town because it was just too darn lovely to stay inside.
It was a quiet night in June on Nantucket.
I have LOVED hanging with my littles!
Okay speaking of the beach, we bought something new for this season that I ADORE!!!
You guys, what took us so long to buy a COLLAPSIBLE FOLDABLE WAGON?! This thing is AMAZING! It’s super easy to fold up and put in the back of my car (you can do it one handed!). It pops right open and, as you can see, I was able to load it full of stuff and pull it from the beach lot right on to the beach (including going up and down a little dune). We are going to be using this thing just about every day (including today!). I am obsessed with it. If you have a beach vacation anytime soon, I can’t recommend it enough!
I have found the perfect “beach sweater”…
…when the inventor of your favorite robe makes A BEACH SWEATER that feels like your robe yet more appropriate for the beach than you just wearing your robe (or favorite cardigan), it must be a FAVE! I could NOT love this sweater more! (my SWIM TOP IS HERE).
I washed and dried it, and it worked really well with my jeans and a cami too for running errands and grabbing a bite 🙂 .
One more #ootd this week…
…well, I finally now (after two years) have THIS SHIRT in every single color. I just love it SO much! It’s soft, it never wrinkles, it’s not hot or bulky…I love it. I buy mine in a size 2. It’s on sale right now!
MY DRESS from dinner on Monday night is on sale right now! The gold buttons are so so cute! This dress comes in three other colors as well.
You guys, I found these at my grocery store in McKinney…
…and I had to check the can TWICE just to confirm I was not drinking rose during the day at my desk. If you are a rose fan, you are going to LOVE these sparkling waters. They taste so authentic!!! I was crazy, crazy impressed. I *think* they’re seasonal, so grab them while you can.
Who doesn’t love a good workout short at a great price?! THESE SHORTS are a fave this week (the tee is HERE)! They are lined…
…they have zipper pockets…
…they have a great waist, they come in several color options and they’re under $25. #winning I bought them in a small.
Finally, it wouldn’t be summer without…
…BURGERS!!!
Today, I’m sharing 36 BURGERS FOR YOUR SUMMER! From “original” to turkey burgers, a lobster burger, burgers with crab, a burger without meat, burgers that are fancy and all oh so delish. Check them out HERE!
That wraps up this week’s FAVORITE THINGS! Don’t forget, I will be back here tomorrow for my SUMMER SATURDAY post where I share deets only found on that bonus weekend post. I may or may not have a fun little nugget of “life” to share tomorrow. Come back and see!
Happy Friday! xx

Love the black shorts! Do you have a link for the white shirt? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I should have included that! It’s Vuori. I’ll add it to the post now.
Jess says
Do you have a link to your brown flip flops? Or are they an older purchase? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re oldies from J Crew 🙂
Melissa says
Happy weekend! Can you please link your flip flops? Thanks.
Mix and Match Mama says
Those are oldies but goodies from J Crew!
Kara says
We have that wagon for baseball tournaments and it is a lifesaver!
Can you remind me what watches your littles wear? Do they have texting/calling options? thanks so much!
Mix and Match Mama says
They were Gizmos. All four of my kids have had Gizmos, and we LOVE them! They can text and call only those you allow them to text and call (so my littles can only text and call Andrew, me, K, Smith and both of their grandmas). You can set timers on there (so their watches are disabled during the school day). It’s fabulous!
Kate says
Do you have a link for the watches?

I have to tell you how much I LOVE your blog. As a mom of 4 young kiddos I have gotten so many great tips from you. It’s part of my morning routine now to check the blog along with my devotional to see what nugget of happy you have in store. I know these things tend to be more of a highlight reel ( though I also feel like you keep it real), but that’s why I love it! I love filling my day with positive, encouraging, inspirational content and your blog and beautiful family are so fun to keep up with!
Can’t wait to read more about your summer and live vicariously through all your adventures!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! Truly, I am humbled by someone with four young kiddos having any extra minutes a day to spend on anything much less this space. I am more grateful than you will ever know. Sending YOU so much love! Truly, so much. xx
Paula McKaughan says
Do I spy with my little eye a Wahoo board???? Oh my goodness, that’s one of our families all time favorite game!!! We play it all the time!!! Have so much fun with the littles!! Sending love and prayers to everyone on the mission this week. God is so good!!
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!! We are wahoo people! My parents still have their original board from before Sean and I were born. We LOVE wahoo!
Sheaffer says
What a fun week! And I love that beach sweater on you!
Melissa Hill says
Where in McKinney did you find the Waterloo Rose?
Mix and Match Mama says
Market Street 🙂
Debbie says
Our Target has it too. My favorite is Tropical Fruit. 🙂
Andrea says
Our daughter had the same reaction when she tried those Waterloos for the first time! Because she was pregnant, she was really checking that ingredient list multiple times!😂
Mix and Match Mama says
Seriously, I had to look TWICE. It tastes just like real rose!
K.K. says
Ah, yay!! That’s amazing about Kensington!! And what fun for the Nantucket bunch.
Stephanie Harris says
Look for a Hulken it’s a heavy duty rolling bag. Amazon is back ordered but if you order directly from the site, it comes in less than a week. It is absolutely incredible for hauling.
Angela Banae says
Remember the collapsable cart for when your kiddos go off to college!! Our oldest son just finished his first year in college and he got this cart sometime in the fall. It was a lifesaver for him as he would pack it full when heading back home to visit (with all of his laundry LOL). A great gift for graduates as they head off to college!!
Also, can you link your denim shorts in #4? Those are adorable, Shay!!!!
Have the best weekend and can’t wait to hear all about K and the guys on their mission trip… how awesome!!
Mix and Match Mama says
BRILLIANT!
Beth Valenta says
Love this post of summer happy! Random, where did you find white on white Boston hat?
Mix and Match Mama says
Last year at jerseystreetstore.com 🙂 My favorite Red Sox shop!
Kathy Cohen says
What size in the denim dress so darling
Mix and Match Mama says
I should have specified. It’s linen (not denim) and I bought it in XS. It also comes in “tall” sizes too!
Allison says
I am cracking up at your blurb about the wagon!! You have all the great tips and gadgets for everything, but I honestly think you were the last person on earth to get one of those! LOLOLOL!
Mix and Match Mama says
I KNOW! I really rely on you guys to boss me around and none of you did about the wagon. It took Andrew. Hahahaha!
Susie says
I hope your sweet family has a blessed mission trip to Nicaragua. When my kids went to Honduras, it was always an eye-opening experience for them. I used to tell them to go and have a blessing and BE A BLESSING.
Kim Carberry says
That is a fab quote and wise words to remember.
It sounds like a great week! The girls look so happy to be playing tennis. Ahh! I haven’t played Twister in years, it used to be a favourite of mine too.
My brother has one of those foldable wagons and it’s great for days out with his family.
Debbie says
Your blog is part of my morning routine. Love starting the day with a little bit of happiness. random question but I love you purple tennis shoes. What brand are they? Enjoy the rest of your week with the littles, it goes so fast. Prayers to all on the mission trip.
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! I am so very grateful! Those are from last year and the brand is Asics!
Sara S says
Do you have a link for the wedges or are they older?!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re older! I’m sorry!
Lynn T says
I loved your post. Can you please link the flip Flops in the first picture with the beach sweater. And the wedges with the blue dress with the gold buttons. I ordered the sweater so cute.
Mix and Match Mama says
Both are oldies but goodies. I’m sorry! The flip flops are from J Crew (not recent) and the wedges are from a shop here on Nantucket (again, not recent).
Lynn T says
oh gosh thanks for responding. JCrew has so many great things out right now. I will look a little closer. I need to stop buying the heels you link and stick to wedges.
Have a great weekend!
Carol says
As a 13-year-old girl, my daughter left part of her heart in Nicaragua. Are they there with BMDMI?
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh that makes me so happy to hear! No, it’s not with BMDMI. I just googled that to see what they do, and it sounds like they do WONDERFUL things!
Sarah Shaneyfelt says
I cannot wait to hear about Kensington’s mission trip! I took my first mission trip when I was her age and I feel like it would have been even more special if my family were with me! What a sweet memory she will always have! I also need that Waterloo–I’m going to check my local stores for it!

Candi says
Do you have a link to the cute mermaid hat?
Mix and Match Mama says
We bought it at store here on Nantucket called Wheat 🙂 .
Kit Rohlf says
Shay I love the barefoot dreams pullover! So cute! I have a question about your BuDha all weather Bangle Bracelets. Do you have the clear crystal or pink pearl bracelets? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I have the clear crystal and I have the pearl (but my pearls are white and not pink). I love them!
Tina says
How do you keep all the white tennis shoes so clean? I LOVE white tennis shoes, but I find myself not wearing them as often as I’d like bc I don’t want to ruin them.
Mix and Match Mama says
They are probably not as clean in person as you might think…but when I do want to clean any of our sneakers up, I use my best friend…Mr. Magic Eraser 🙂 .
Kay says
It looks like Charlie is playing twister too-that made me smile!!!
Michelle says
I honestly got teary-eyed reading about Kensington’s mission trip with her favorite men. What a tremendous experience for them all. Treasured memories being made! ❤️
