Happy SATURDAY!
Thank you so much for stopping by over your weekend to say hi! I appreciate it during the week, but it’s even extra special to be included in your Saturday plans. Thank you, thank you!
Here’s an extra bit of weekend fun…
What do a bunch of Texans living on Nantucket need?
Nantaco!
This is the second season of this cute little taco shop and once again, we love it. All four of my kids ARE OBSESSED with this downtown spot. Should you need a taco, a bowl, a burrito (they boast about having ‘the best breakfast burrito’ on island) or even a margarita, stop here. They have a few tables both inside and out, but on Tuesday night, we got it to go and watched Legally Blonde at home. I let the girls pick dinner, and this was their choice! It was delish!
This sweet spot is a Nantucket LEGEND.
Aunt Leah’s Fudge! Aunt Leah herself works behind the counter and is ADORABLE! She makes her own fudge and other candies…plus, they ship!
Do you see the sign that says she has the “best ice coffee”? That is no lie. It is THE BEST!
I have had so many different types of fudge here (I always want to try something new!). This week, Ashby and I tried the dark chocolate raspberry fudge, and it was delicious. We’ve never had anything not delicious from Leah’s.
This is from 2022 🙂 . One great thing about this shop is that it’s right next to the ferry, so it’s perfect for day trippers.
Always a treat!
Just in time for SUMMER…
…an ATHLETA SWIM SALE! Woohoo! I am literally typing this sentence right this minute wearing THESE BOTTOMS in white 🙂 . I’ve said this a million times, so I might as well say it once more…Athleta makes the best swimsuits. They wash, wear and dry over and over and over again for YEARS.
What else is on sale?
Some fabulous…
…SUMMER BASICS! I mean, how cute, right?! All on sale!
And finally…
…YOUNG GIRLS 50% OFF SUMMER REFRESH!
Don’t forget, if you want to catch more #ootd from my family, what my kids are wearing, what Andrew is wearing, teen stuff, I keep it all HERE just because it’s easier. 🙂
My friend Kim asked me if I would go with her to get her tragus pierced last weekend, so I made an appointment for her at my favorite piercing parlor, The Magic Needle, in McKinney.
And well, what’s one more?
I got my 11th ear piercing…this time my daith.
What is the “daith”? Here is my trusty ear map…
As a reminder, I have five lobes, two cartilage, my tragus, conch, orbital and now daith. I have a feeling many of you know about daith piercings because they help prevent migraines. I don’t suffer from migraines, but I hear all the time about people getting this piercing to prevent them. Wanting to know if it was for migraines was the first question they asked me at The Magic Needle when I told them I wanted my daith pierced.
Another fact about the daith…
…it’s called a “peek-a-boo” piercing because you can’t see it head on. You won’t see it on my Stories are in my photos, you have to be looking into my ear to see it. I mean, did I need it? Of course not. Was it way more fun that we both got something pierced? Yes. I like odd numbers and now, this gives me 11. I would say I’m done, but at this point, I think you all know my lucky number is 13 and gosh, I’m so darn close 😉 .
We did a “first” for us this week on Nantucket.
The little girls and I…
…went to see a movie at the theater in town. You guys, we saw Garfield at The Dreamland Theater and LOVED IT!! I honestly can’t remember a “kids” movie that I’ve enjoyed more in a very very long time. The movie was clever, funny, and oh so adorable. All three of us laughed out loud pretty much the entire time. The Dreamland is located right in the heart of “town”, and I’ve walked by it a million times, but this was our first time to go inside. It isn’t just a movie theater, they host live performances, shows and celebrations…it’s a big part of the island community, and I’m so happy we went inside. It was such an unexpected treat this week.
Hmmmm…where are they? In the mountains? Maybe Europe? Perhaps South America? You guys, they’re on an excursion on a HAWAIIAN CRUISE!!
Hawaiian cruises aren’t just for the beach, they are what you want them to be including amazing excursions (my family LOVED our whale watching, seeing a volcano, our day at a resort…all of it!). A very wise blog reader commented just this week and said she’s an “ocean person” not a “beach person” which is why cruises are a great fit for her. I loved that. If you love the water but don’t want to hang out on the beach, cruises are for YOU!
Contact us today for more information about our amazing cruise options. We want to help! We can also help you with Mexico or the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, a cruise or any of our other vacation planning destinations, reach out today! We would LOVE to be a part of your next vacation!
That wraps up another SUMMER SATURDAY post! I hope you all have the BEST weekend! I will see you back here on Monday! xx

So fun to see a pic of Aunt Leah’s fudge since it referenced several times in Nancy Thayer’s newest release, Thw Summer it all Started.

I wish I had known about Aunt Leah’s fudge when we were in Nantucket this spring. I learned all about it when we were in line with Aunt Leah’s nephew, while waiting on the ferry to head home. He told us about working there every summer as a young guy, and now bringing his family back to visit his Aunt Leah! Fun little story.
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwww! I LOVE this story! Leah is absolutely precious!!

Love love love all your piercings!😍 💎 You inspired my cousin and me to get our 5th/6th!!:). Those last two took a tiny bit longer to heal and not going to lie hurt to sleep on which delayed my want for another so quickly, but I think that memory has passed now and ready to go again!!😜😂. Loving these extra Saturday post!!;)
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!!! Were they cartilage? In my opinion, those hurt the most and take the longest to heal. Happy Saturday!
Ashley says
Happy Saturday, Shay!! That Nantaco (how fun!) place looks so good, I’m such a fan of burrito bowls and love my iced coffee, so I would love to visit Aunt Leah’s Fudge! I haven’t heard of Athleta before, I will definitely check out those swimsuits!
Have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

Such a. Fun week!!! I’ve been wanting a new piercing after seeing all of yours! Haha
Hannah says
My daith is my most recent piercing & I love it. I got a hoop in it & get compliments all the time. And lots of “how bad did that hurt?!”
Cat33 says
I love your piercings! Would you get one done with Kensington? Has she wanted to get them like her mom?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would, but right now, she doesn’t even wear her lobe piercing she got when she was five, so she’s not interested in any others.
Dallis says
Love the piercings Shay! They look great!
What would you get pierced next? Reverse helix? Other Tragus? Belly button? Excited to see what #12 and #13 are. You’ve inspired me to get a few more as well.
Mix and Match Mama says
Nothing that’s not in my ear (no belly button for me). I don’t know? The daith was one I’ve thought about for a long time…I’m not sure what I would do next.
Morgan Godbold says
Love the ear piercings!! What about a nose?! I never thought I’d get a nose piercing and got the tiny stud on my left side and love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
I think nose piercings are SO CUTE!!! I think it might be too much with all of my ear piercings, but I totally think they’re adorable!
Jess says
So interesting that odd numbers are your favorite! I like even…odd numbers make me a little stressed 😅

Love these Nantucket posts! I spent every summer on Nantucket from baby age through high school! My mom’s best friend (since kindergarten!) has a home there and my mom took us there. It was magical! I have been back here and there but not in awhile. Sadly, we lost my mom this year. My daughters and I are heading back to Nantucket in July for their first time and to spend some quality time with her friend, my “aunt”. It will be bittersweet for sure!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwwww! I’m so happy you’re going back! July is the best month on the island. I hope you girls have the VERY BEST TIME!!

I love all your piercings! They are so dainty and just a little extra sparkle. My almost 17 yr old daughter has been wanting her cartilage pierced. She just has lobes, 3 in each right now. Is your cartilage what you did first after lobes? Or something else? Anything specific you’d recommend other cartilage?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I would say that the cartilage looks to be the easiest after lobes because it’s so thin, but in my experience, it requires the most babying after piercing and takes the longest to heal. I had mine pierced in college and removed it because it was just too high maintenance. When I did them again, it took a solid year for them to heal. My other piercings healed much much faster. I don’t even think about my daith now, and it’s only one week old.
Katie Compton says
Thank you! All good info that I will pass along. I don’t think she is set on cartilage, but wants something to add a little more bling. 😊
Lisa Elliott says
Do you remove all of your earrings at night? I had my ears double pierced many years ago and the top holes have grown closed. I’ve been thinking of getting them repierced.
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not. I only remove my bottom “main” lobe earrings. The rest of my earrings (outside of the other three lobes) are permanent. The piercing parlor puts permanent backings on there that only they can remove.
