Hello, hello, hello!
I am BACK, and I’ve missed you guys!
I only unplugged for a week (and it was lovely), but I always think of you while I’m away. I have a little note on my phone of things to jot down whenever I’m not with you and yet think of something to share…many notes were written this last week. I am oh so grateful for this community and feel incredibly blessed to do life with you!
As always, extra thanks for stopping by on a Saturday! I hope you all had a wonderful week!
Don’t forget, not only do we have this post today, but it’s the 22nd of the month which means it’s also our JUNE BOOK CLUB DAY!!
Two posts on a Saturday?!
Yes, yes!
Today’s is short and sweet and hopefully the perfect addition to your weekend…
There are SO MANY great sales happening right now!
MY SWEATER is on sale! (available in so many other colors too!)
THESE SANDALS are on sale (I love them SO much!)…
…and THESE SANDALS are on sale too!!
MY GAUZE TOP is on sale (I have it now in three different colors!).
MY LINEN DRESS is on sale…
…and MY MAXI DRESS is too!!
What was the #1 best purchase I made for our vacation last week and also the #1 item that I wore?
I wore this packable rain jacket EVERY SINGLE DAY. It was light, it kept me dry, it was warm, and it was packable. It comes in many, many different colors and runs TTS (I bought XS).
I wore it, I wore it, and I loved it! THIS JACKET will be a huge staple in my closet this year!
No surprise here!
I announced this morning in our JUNE BOOK CLUB chat that our new book to read this next month will be…
…Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand 🙂 .
As it should be, right?!
Make sure you grab a copy and read along with us for our Book Club chat next month!
Wellll, I was looking for something to watch on our flight home from Northern Ireland in between reading and working (I was trying not to sleep since we landed at 8:30 PM, and I wanted to go home and sleep). My friend Jo kept telling me I must, must, must watch…
…on Apple TV. Whoa.
That’s all I have to say is WHOA.
It held my attention! I ended up finishing it yesterday (it’s only six episodes), and it’s based on a true story. This is VERY gritty, but I could not look away. If you are looking for a mature/gritty/crime/true life series to quickly binge this weekend, this might be it. I highly recommend you watch the trailer before you dive in for more context. I was afraid this show was going to be too gruesome (you know I don’t do that), but it wasn’t. It’s crime and gritty but not gory. Greg Kinnear is one of the stars and he is (per usual) phenomenal. I could watch that guy read the phone book. Another stellar performance!
One more bonus “random” thing for your Saturday…
In March, Kensington bought herself this RUGGED WATERPROOF DIGITAL CAMERA to take on our spring break vacation, and she has LOVED it! She brought it along with us to Northern Ireland as well…
…and we have had so much fun taking pics. I love this camera because it makes her focus on actually taking photos and not looking at her phone (anyone else like when their kids do things away from their phones?). It’s a new school way to take an old school pic 🙂 .
We LOVE the Dominican Republic!! You know that my family loves it, and yes, our clients do too!
The DR is an excellent vacation destination year around, so whether you want to head somewhere summer, fall, winter or spring, this is one spot you don’t want to miss.

That wraps up our SATURDAY!
Don’t forget, it’s a TWO POST DAY though! If you read this month’s book for our book club, check out that “chat” HERE today too.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends! I will see you all back here on Monday! xx

I love that digital cameras are making a comeback! And I have loved seeing the adventures your two big kids are on right now while you’re home–I hope Kensington lets you share more pictures from hers!! Happy Saturday!

What a fun week! Can you share or do a post how you are keeping you and your family and schedule organized between your travels, time in Nantucket and life in general?
Happy Saturday!

I could! I will tell you now, I rely SO MUCH on my Cozi app. Once Andrew finally started using it too, it changed everything. I can’t keep us organized if he doesn’t also use it/look at it/add to it, but now that he does, it made a world of difference.

Related to this – I’d love to see a post on how you pack for going back and forth between McKinney and Nantucket. Do you have full wardrobes at each? Bring favorites back and forth? Empty the fridge at each place?
Andrea says
I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures in Ireland! Any chance we could get a post from Andrew on his time in London with Kensington? The Instagram pics of them are just the sweetest!

I don’t usually commit to the book club because I’m just not as dedicated to reading as I should be, but I’m jumping in for July!
Loving that the digital camera is making a comeback! 📸

Love the idea of the digital camera! 😍 Does Kensington have a phone now? I remember listening to your episode about how they don’t have phones. Would love to know how you decided to give her one if you did? My kids are younger but I’m dreading that conversation one day, would love your take on how you decided it was time!
Mix and Match Mama says
She did get a phone for Christmas her 8th grade year. That’s such a bigger conversation. I read a book this month that addresses this, so make sure you check that out in my June Book Review. I’ll have more to say on that post!

Have you been able to ascertain if your teen(s) use their phones any differently than their peers who got phones at younger ages? Is their attention less or more absorbed by their phone? I ask because parents are told to wait as long as possible to give their kids phones so that the teenager(s) would have a healthier relationship with their phone/social media. And, I am wondering if that is true in your experience. (I appreciate a teen who rec’d a phone later may have more maturity about using the phone but realistically, it is a possibility that they can get just as caught up in social media once they have access to it.)
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, I haven’t considered that, but now that you bring it to my attention, I’m going to give it some thought. I’m not sure?

I just got back from vacation too!! Snagged some of those Target sandals before leaving and let me tell you, they were my favorite!!! So comfy and super cute! Now back to catching up on everything MMM I missed 😉
Mix and Match Mama says
Aren’t they a GEM?! I saw a woman wearing them yesterday and wanted to walk up to her and say “I know those are comfortable, don’t you love them?”. Ha!
