Happy Friday, friends!
I hope you had a wonderful week! As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
Settle in…there is a lot to share including ONE OF MY MOST POPULAR POSTS OF THE ENTIRE YEAR annnnnnnd A GIVEAWAY! xx
Let’s start with an unexpected blessing that was…
Yesterday, I shared 6 BACK TO SCHOOL THINGS, and my favorite part was the “community” in the comment section. Mamas were sharing their anxieties, other ladies were offering encouragement, we were as one blog reader (hey there Leslie!) said “in it together”. YES!!
I am just so grateful for my time here every day with each one of you. We are IN IT TOGETHER!
Speaking of blog readers…
…last week Emily shared that I should start listening to…
…the Autumn Jazz station on Pandora and now, I can’t turn it off! I have been listening both at home and in my car.
It’s the PERFECT mix of music to put you in an “autumn” mood.
I love partnering with Collen Rothschild because it’s so easy for me to GUSH about their skin and hair products!
Right now…
…you can save 25% off of FAN FAVORITES with code BEST25!
A few weeks ago, I placed a new order to replenish some of my items and snapped a pic when the box arrived…
A box of happiness 🙂 .
Take a look…
#1: I had to stock back up on my very favorite Colleen Rothschild product, RADIANT CLEANSING BALM, because Kensington had swiped my last tub when she ran out. My mom, Kensington and I all use this product every single day to cleanse our faces and remove our makeup.
#2: After Sheaffer gushed so much about the GLYCOLIC ACID PEEL PADS, I bought some and have been using them over the last few weeks…
…I’m not sure why these haven’t been in my usual rotation…
…but I have been swiping one over my face every night after I cleanse but before I add my serums and moisturizer and love it! It makes my skin feel extra, extra cleansed and primed for my favorite serum.
#3 and #5: It was time to stock up on the QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO and the REPLENISH & SHINE DAILY CONDITIONER . You can use TWO CODES today when purchasing these! Right now use BEST25 to get 25% off the QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO and then also use my code SHAY20 to get 20% off the REPLENISH & SHINE DAILY CONDITIONER.
#4: I get asked all the time which products are my very favorite, and it’s SO HARD to pick just one or two, but the RADIANT CLEANSING BALM and the AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM would probably be it. The BALM is so hydrating and never strips my skin when I wash with it plus, it removes all of my makeup including that stubborn eye makeup while the SUPER SERUM packs a HUGE punch as it fights six signs of premature aging. They are a powerful combination!
#6: I needed one more jar of my VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM. I just LOVE this as my nighttime moisturizer. This product is currently not a part of the Fan Favorites promo, but you can use my code SHAY20 to get 20% off!
Thank you for partnering with me today, Colleen Rothschild! Don’t forget, use code BEST25 for 25% off FAN FAVORITES today or SHAY20 for 20% off other remaining products (excludes bundles).
If you have any specific questions about how my mom and I use any of these products (because as you know, these are the only hair and skincare products she uses too!), please comment below. I’m so happy to help!
My friend Kim had this top on the other day, and I thought it was SO CUTE…
…it’s a “dupe” of the popular Free People open back top…
…and was certainly a favorite of mine!
I bought THIS TOP in “white grey”, but it comes in many other colors too!
Last week, I shared…
…THESE JEANS and loved them so much that I went back to the same website and purchased…
Aren’t they the perfect color for fall?!
I bought them in RUST, but they do come in other colors as well! They are priced really well for denim and especially for the quality. Of course, it’s 105 degrees here, and I’m at my desk working, so I swapped my new lovely jeans for…
…JOGGERS because that’s my work from home vibe on days like this 🙂 .
Both pairs of pants run TTS. I bought the joggers in xs and the denim in a size 26. I’m ready for sweater weather!
And finally, today is always a BIG day here on blog world because it’s one of my MOST POPULAR POSTS OF THE ENTIRE YEAR!

I loved your old meal planning post that you shared yesterday. Would you say that it’s worth it to purchase a slow cooker if you already have an InstaPot? We have had to shed so many items moving back and forth overseas that I don’t have one now. I’m wondering if it’s worth getting another or just making do with the instapot. Any thoughts? I love the idea of setting it in the morning and having it ready when I’m more tired around dinner…or have you ever just used your dutch oven and slow cooked things in that all day?
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, I just never fell in love with my InstaPot. Does yours have a slow cooking setting? For some reason (I could be wrong!), I think mine does? I personally like the “set it and forget it” part of the slow cooker or I love to use mine to keep my food warm (like the meatballs from Tuesday). I personally really prefer it over the InstaPot for so many reasons. I have a blog post about it! https://mixandmatchmama.com/2019/08/the-slow-cooker-vs-the-instant-pot/

Thanks! That’s a good question. I forget that we actually bought it for the air fryer function, but it’s actually a mutli-cooker. I need to look and see if it already has a slow cooker feature, that would be perfect!
And of course, I wasn’t thinking! I remember your disdain for the instapot. 😉 My husband loves it so I let him deal with it! I’m not a big fan either.

You can use the Instapot just like a crockpot, you just have to buy the slow cooker lid.

You are really tempting me with those rust jeans. They are so cute! And autumnal without veering into UPS-uniformish. 😉
Have a great weekend!

Hi! What washcloth do you use with the cleansing balm? Something disposable or reusable? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
I use just my standard washcloth that comes with my bath towel set. I apply it with my fingers and then use a damp washcloth to wipe it away.

Thanks for reminding me to check out your slow cooker recipes. There is nothing better than throwing it in and having dinner!!!
I know where you will be this weekend.. Emily in Paris New season just hit Netflix. Lol!!!

I love that your community is comprised of so many ranges of life stages. I read some comments from ladies who have college age kids like myself. It’s always comforting to know others are feeling the same way.

What are the sandals you’re wearing with the rust jeans? Perfect for late summer/early fall!
Mix and Match Mama says
Aren’t they so cute? Those are from YSL but they’re not recent.
Heather says
Nothing to see here, just me running to grab those jeans 🍁🍂🎃
Alyssa says
I never cooked chicken due to fear of undercooking it before you taught me how to do so I’m the slow cooker; it was a whole new world to make my own shredded chicken that was fully cooked! Thank you for sharing all the tips and tricks to make meal time easier.

Also can I just say your slow cooker recipes signals fall to me! My sweet niece Ryan gifted me your recipe book a few years ago and I love it!!!
