Happy happy FRIDAY!
You guys, I need a weekend.
A long weekend.
This week has kicked my butt a bit, but today, Smith is home (his school has a five day weekend), and he was kind enough to agree to help me put out some fall decorations while we also hang out with Andrew.
Pumpkins already? YES! You guys…
…I mean, yeah! 😉
One more because I am weird fall girl…
A long weekend + pumpkins = the best way to recuperate after a crazy busy week!
Alrighty, as always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
Happy Friday, friends!
We had a whole lot going on this week including…
…Kensington’s first football game to cheer at this season and then last night, we had Smith’s first football game at his new high school!

Did you catch my AUGUST BOOK REVIEW?! If not, you totally should! I LOVED three of the four books this month…each one of them is very different too.
Partnering with Collen Rothschild because…
…IT’S THEIR LABOR DAY SALE! Sitewide savings on all my faves including…
#1: RADIANT CLEANSING BALM is always the #1 product I recommend. I take my makeup off and wash my face with this every single day. You know how sometimes when you wash your face, your skin feels tight right after? This does the complete opposite. Not only does it remove even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup, but it leaves your skin more hydrated and moisturized without feeling heavy or greasy. After years of using this, I cannot imagine using anything else to cleanse my skin and remove my makeup.
#2: VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM is an amazing part of my routine! I first started using this as my nighttime moisturizer this spring and am already on my third jar. It’s so hydrating and moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling really great the next morning. Speaking of Vitamin C…
#3: VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SERUM is another super affective part of my routine. I apply just a bit of this to my face and neck every morning before my daytime moisturizer.
#4: RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM is one of the products I’ve been using since Day #1…since 2019! I originally bought this because my mom told me this was one of her staple products…and now, it’s mine too. I like to apply a thin layer under my eyes both morning and night as part of my skincare routine.
#5: AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM is my evening serum that I apply after I cleanse and before I moisturize. It truly is a “super” serum packing quite a punch with more than 20 ingredients to fight the six signs of aging (texture, dehydration, elasticity, fine lines, radiance and tone). I’ve used it for YEARS and truly think it’s made a huge difference with my skin. If you only try one of these products right now, I would say this is the BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! This serum is basically like six serums in one. My mom and I both use this as part of our daily routine.
#6: SHEER RENEWAL CREAM has been my daily go-to moisturizer since 2019. I wear this every single day regardless if I’m going out, staying in, wearing makeup or not. It’s light, not heavy, not greasy and yet super hydrating and easy to wear under SPF and makeup.
Plus don’t forget about…
#1: SHINE HAIR SERUM
#2: QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO
#3: REPLENISH & SHINE DAILY CONDITIONER
For me, I wash and condition each time with the QUENCH & SHINE RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO and REPLENISH & SHINE DAILY CONDITIONER, but then I also use the SHINE HAIR SERUM daily as a primer before adding heat to my hair. Not only do I use it then, but on second day hair or later in the day if I just want to give my hair some “life”, I’ll add this hair serum to my already styled hair to smooth it out.

Happy Friday to you, Shay!
So happy Andrew’s surgery went well, all your children are doing well at the start of the school year, and autumn has fallen 😉
I was thrilled about the 2nd opinion post, have enjoyed recipes, been eliminating multitasking, and generally benefitted from many posts this month. 😁

I am on my second round of the shampoo and conditioner from Colleen Rothchild and I can’t believe what a difference it has made in my hair! Several years ago I was placed on a nasty antibiotic that destroyed my hair – which was thin to begin with- then I had hair loss from Covid a few years ago. These products have been a life safer! Thank you SHAY!!
Mix and Match Mama says
RIGHT?! IT IS SUCH A GAME CHANGER!!!! Ashby now uses it too!! It’s amazing!
Heather says
So glad to see on IG that Andrew was up and about! Prayers for a speedy recovery and he’s able to see some of the kids games this year!
Sara says
Happy fall decorating to you! I love high school football season (don’t really like the sport though 🤣)
Here in PA our high school football games are Friday nights, will Kensington and Smith have simultaneous games you will have to plan around?! I hope not. Fingers crossed their schedules align!
As my kids get more involved in sports I pray their schedules allow me to do it all!
Mix and Match Mama says
They will sometimes have games at the same time. That being said, at least this year, it works in our favor more than if they went to the same school. If they did, they would ALWAYS play on the same night at different schools (if the freshman team is playing a school at home, the JV team is playing that exact school’s JV team away). So, we are at least going to have less cross over this season than it would be if he went to her school.
Sara Alexander says
Well I am certainly glad that it works out this year! 😄
melinda says
I thought they were both in high school?? Sorry In MO 9-12 are in same building. At least all the ones I know about.
Mix and Match Mama says
In Texas, it can vary, but my kids are both in high schools that are grades 9-12. So yes, they’re both in high school just at two different ones.
Dana Powell says
Aww…I bet it shows how much Andrew does, too and that’s contributing to how hard it’s been this week. 🙂 I know when my husband is down it makes me realize how very much he keeps our family running. I hope he’s up and around soon and that the spinal fusion is a great improvement to his daily life. I can’t believe that he’s needed it for so long and was still as active as he is!! You guys are both amazing.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my gosh, he does SO MUCH!! This has certainly made me extra extra grateful 🙂 .
Faith says
Ahhhh I have been itching to go to hobby lobby and prob won’t be able to until next week. So ready. It has been in the mid 90s here in NC and will be in the mid 70s next week. I. CANNOT. WAIT. I will be getting my fall decorations out after our weekend at the beach!

I hope you have a relaxing weekend! Can you share where your cute, white skirt in the first picture is from? That is perfect for these hot, Texas football games.
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s Lily Pulitzer! It’s my favorite style of tennis skirt!

I’m READY for all things FALL!! BRING IT ON!

So ready for fall temps and not a fan of this hot weather here in Denver! I’ve officially decided once school starts the weather MUST turn cooler cause I just can’t keep up with the busyness in this heat!
Question-With how busy/ hectic your schedule is and how often you all travel how do you prevent yourself from being sick all the time?! I feel like anytime I’m super busy by the end of the week I ( not my kids) end up with a cold. Maybe that’s just being a mom of 4 under 6 but thought I’d see if you have pointers since you are far busier then I am in this season!
Mix and Match Mama says
I wish I had a really solid answer here, but I just think it’s dumb luck that we’re typically a really healthy bunch. I know it’s super common for people to come home from trips and get sick/feel icky, but it’s just not something we have dealt with. I wish I had a good answer!
Kathy Mc says
Thanks for the time and effort you put in to make my morning read so enjoyable. I have been searching for the post that contained info on the travel jacket you wore while in Ireland. I was hoping you could post the link if still available. Thank you in advance, and enjoy the long weekend.
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank YOU for coming and being a part of our community! I LOVE that jacket!! It’s such a great deal too! It’s here: https://shopstyle.it/l/cfk8U

So glad Andrew is recovering well! Enjoy the long weekend with your people and pumpkins.
My girl is cheering at her first high school football game tonight and we’re so excited to watch! Bring on a whole new season of crazy with high school but we’re ready for it.
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwwww! Enjoy it!!
Arika says
How sweet. I know you and Andrew have your little tradition of decorating together for the seasons (or maybe Andrew hauling boxes and you decorating, but still). There is just something so sweet about Smith filling in for his dad right now, it made me smile. Enjoy all the pumpkins and happy early Sept. 1st!
Mix and Match Mama says
He was VERY helpful and very sweet yesterday. I love decorating for the seasons for many reasons, but one of my new faves is that my boy doesn’t often comment on a new pillow I might put out or a new decorative item, but he’s very excitable over seasonal decor that we put out year after year. I can see that the nostalgia resonates with him which melts me.
MICHELLE O says
Bring on Fall!!! My favorite weather. I’m decorating for Fall this weekend…I can’t wait. Have a wonderful weekend! Bring on the pumpkins, leaves and apples!!!
