Happy happy Friday, friends!
Well, it’s once again time for me to open the doors and let you guys in for a little fall tour.
You know the drill…things don’t change that much from year to year, but if I didn’t post this, my grandmother would be unhappy with me (she loves this post). Needless to say, here I am once again showing you my pumpkins 🙂 .
This post is just a lot of pictures because I never know what to share, so basically, I’m sharing it all. I sprinkled in a few captions but mostly it’s pics.
Grab that #psl and maybe a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin and settle in.
It’s my annual Spooktacular Home Tour!
Yes, we’re “those” people. Come on in!
What did our 12′ friend need? Well, since he’s a Shull, he needed his own…
…7′ long dog 🙂 .
Please note the amazing pumpkins placed all over our front and backyard and tell me how extra fabulous they look. You know Andrew is the one who ALWAYS does this…except this year because of his darn spinal fusion. This is the one and only year they were all carried and placed by me, and it made me appreciate my husband’s annual efforts SO MUCH! By the time I was done, I was 99% sure my family will not have any Christmas trees up this year. I’m just going to pull up my blog and let my kids look at last year’s pictures because if I thought pumpkins were a lot of work, I can’t even fathom how hard my trees will be!
Andrew’s mom had this hanging in their kitchen while he was growing up and she passed it on to me after we were married 🙂 .
My bestie gave me my super cute ghost blanket this year 🙂 !
And that’s a wrap!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!!
If you have any questions about things/items/decorations/whatnot, just pop them in the comment section. I’m happy to answer them today.
Don’t forget to come back TOMORROW for an extra special Saturday!
Friends, I hope you have a wonderful Friday. I hope this post inspires you to put a pumpkin out and enjoy the season.
From my spooky house to yours, Happy Friday in October! xx
Elizabeth Stephens says
I love all the Halloween details in your home! Where are the pumpkins from in front of your home? Where are the frames that have your children’s drawings from? So cute! 🧡
Mix and Match Mama says
The stone jack-o-lanterns are from Sandstone Garden outside of Joplin, MO. The frames are from Hobby Lobby! I just use their custom framing departement.
Diane Moore says
I admire all the time and energy it took to do all that decorating … especially all those heavy pumpkins! 🎃💪🏻
Thanks for sharing!!
Amy Heinl says
Looks booootiful as always. So warm and cozy…have a great weekend
Elspeth says
I plan on getting some pumpkins today! You inspired me!

Everything looks so festive! It is still 80 degrees in Ohio but I have my fall goodies out too! I love the ghost blanket and the sweet handprint tile from Ashby. Fall is always a lovely season(:
Kellie Grindstaff says
Where did said bestie find the ghost blanket? Also, tips for arranging real with faux pumpkins and where to purchase real-looking faux pumpkins?
Mix and Match Mama says
I have no idea? It was a gift she dropped off on my porch 🙂 . Isn’t it cute?!
Jennifer Bourquin says
Your decorations look fantastic! Love all the pumpkins.
Jamie says
I never realized how many fireplaces your home has! I love it! So COZY!
Kara says
Your home is so cozy and inviting! I think you have probably told us this before, so forgive me for asking again, but where are your cream swivel chairs in your family room from? Thank you! ! Happy Fall! xoxo
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you, thank you! They’re from Restoration Hardware. I have all of the specifics here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2024/04/kitchen-great-room-refresh/
Britt says
I love EVERYTHING but I LOVE LOVE the fact you keep the Skeleton that Andrew had as a child. Those are the best memories. 💛
Grace says
So cozy and happy!! I love to see some of these same decorations from year to year, and that you even carry on one of Andrew’s childhood traditions. 😉
Christine says
Beautiful home! I love the pumpkins by the pool…we can’t do that in the midwest for very long;)
What does the “ACK” stand for in your lights?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s the airport code for Nantucket, MA. On our patio on Nantucket, we have the same letters spelling DFW (the airport code for Dallas/Fort Worth) 🙂 .
Eileen says
Looks beautiful! What do you do with all of the pumpkins at the end of the season?
Amy B says
Shay- are you willing to share where your kitchen barstools are from? I’m on the hunt for the bar height- harder to find these days. Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course! They’re from Williams Sonoma Home. I have all the details here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2024/04/kitchen-great-room-refresh/
Marie C says
I agree with your grandmother in looking forward to this post every year! It’s like stepping into another world for a bit! Everything looks so beautiful and fun! Can you tell us which screen saver is on the screen above the fireplace in your office? Does it have a name? Thank you for sharing your home, Halloween version 🎃
Mix and Match Mama says
I love it too! I have a Frame TV, and it’s one of the wallpaper options in the “fall” category.
Marie C says
Thank you!
Stacey says
I just love this! So cozy!! All your hard work with the pumpkins was worth it. Great job!

Shay – I’m exhausted just looking at the pics! So much work! But you can just tell you absolutely love it and it brings you such joy. It’s beautiful!! Now I’m off to get my ONE obligatory pumpkin for my front steps! lol…
Beverly says
Your home is spooktacular. Thought you’d enjoy our neighbors spooky skeleton outdoors art. class complete with a nod to Demi & Patrick from ghost. Even the dog is drawing a bone. I will put the photos on your FB page as it wouldn’t let me post them here. You’ll love it. Love your blog. you should do a holiday decor book.
Katherine says

Jami Romano says

Paula R. says
Happy Fri-Yeah, Shay.
Your house looks so cozy and inviting. Well done, you! The front room with the fireplace looks extra cozy and welcoming. I would just hang out there all day.
Is the lovely artwork above your family room mantle new this year? Is there a fun story behind it?
Hope you have a great weekend.
Kaitlyn C says
I love this post every year! Your home is always so warm and cozy!
Paula R. says
I forgot to suggest that you should get the word out now that you might need extra strong helpers to unload and set up Christmas trees and help lift boxes for decorating day. I’m sure that some strong young men might be interested In earning some extra money to assist you. I know how much decorating for Christmas brings you joy plus it will give Andrew a break with his recovery.
Jennifer Speer says
I love these decorating posts too!
Anneka says
Your pumkpkins out front look phenomenal, lol. I have all my fall stuff up, but I don’t love spooky myself, so it doesn’t change from September to November. I love the little host blanket though!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’ve never looked better, right? 😉
S says
Stunning, as always! Thanks for welcoming us into your home! I know it is only Halloween, but since you mentioned Christmas trees at the top of the post, I have a question. How do you store your fake trees? In a storage bag? Multiple containers? We just bought our first fake tree- we’ve had real trees for the last 20 years- and I have no idea how to store them. Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
We put them into storage bags! One big storage bag for big trees and then we also use one big bag for the garlands. It’s much easier to carry/store/lug them around than boxes.
Leasa Zeppa says
Are the pumpkins on your placemats paper? Are they Hester and Cook? Where did you find the cloth napkins? Thank you! 🎃
Mix and Match Mama says
Those are from Pottery Barn (several years ago) and they’re more like wood/super super heavy cardboard-ish. The napkins are PB too!
rachel white says
hi! your fall decor is cute as always! would you please share the source for the wood and cream chairs in your moose room? is it a local furniture store? thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love that you noticed those! Those are actually almost 20 years old. I bought them when we were first married. I’ve had them recovered, but I just love them so much. They’re pieces that I plan on keeping forever and ever and ever.
Cheriese says
Looks fabulous! A couple of years ago you posted about a clear, glossy spray you used on your pumpkins to keep the bugs and critters off of them. Will you please share that product again?
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s detailed here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2022/09/gourd-geous-pumpkins/
This year though, I didn’t spray a single one because clearly just lugging them around was enough work for me. Hahaha!
Julie says
Your home literally looks like a Nancy Meyer movie. Love it!! So fun. 🎃
Mix and Match Mama says
Well that’s just the nicest thing to say 🙂 .
Natalie Alvarado says
Love all the pumpkins! 🎃 Your front formal living room looks so cozy for fall!
Lyssy says
I’m with your grandma! This and the Christmas decorations are always my favorite posts too. I’ll be eight months pregnant when I switch over the Christmas decorations so I’ll be exhausted right there with you ha!
Jeanne Cobianchi says
Any issues with the giant skeleton blowing over? Love it all but there’s something about the ghost blanket in your master!
Mix and Match Mama says
Not one! It’s actually crazy how light it is and yet how sturdy.
Rhoda Watson says
Wow, your house looks fantastic. But, dare I say it? I think you may have to seek help at pumpkins anonymous LOL. You single handedly keep the Texas pumpkin growers in business!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I just lol! I have issues, I know!
Rhoda Watson says
I think it may be the pumpkins around the pool that sent you over the edge! Seriously though, it all looks amazing!
Mix and Match Mama says
You know me well, bahahaha! I could only carry one at a time from the garage where they were in the back of my car. Let’s just say, I counted that as “leg day” instead of going to the gym.
Rachel K says
Your festive house always inspires me! Do you have your ceiling fans in the living room linked anywhere?
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve texted Andrew twice now today about this question. The first time, he replied back “I’ll check” and the second time, he ignored me. Bahaha! I’ll ask him again later today when he’s home from work. I cannot find the answer anywhere.
Rachel says
I love those pumpkins piled up by the fireplace in the first room you showed!
Brooke says
Your house looks beautiful and so festive! Have you ever heard of the game Crokinole? I think your family would love it and it is so fun to play with friends. I was looking at your tall table behind the sectional and thinking it would be the perfect table for a board! https://traceyboards.com/
Mix and Match Mama says
I am looking that up right now. I’ve never heard of it!
Melissa Hill says
Do you recall where you got the plush pumpkins in front of the fireplace on the floor? Your home is amazingly decorated as always!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
They were at my grocery store last year in the florist’s shop. Aren’t they fun?!
Melissa Hill says
If it’s Market Street, then they have the cutest stuff and I always get in trouble when I go grocery shopping there when I’m in town!
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!!!! I do too!!
Susie says
The skeleton dog on your front yard is everything!! Love him!
May I ask where you purchased the chandeleir in your foyer?
Thank you! 🤗
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course! Restoration Hardware!
Jennifer says

Sarah Fooshee says

Erika Slaughter says
Your house looks great! Please send Smith over to mine! hahaha!
Roberta Schwandner says
I love your fall/Halloween decorations inside and out.
Heather says
Yay I am so glad that you still continue with the yearly home tour. And might I say, I genuinely appreciate that you do reuse the same stuff year after year. Your kids will I’m sure remember that in years to come. And it’s so nice to see an influencer that doesn’t deal in over consumption, Macy Blackwell comes to mind! Always new and more never satisfied.
Jennifer says
Everything looks great! My Favorite post each year 🧡
Phyllis M. says
Thank you for your kindness, thoughtfulness and humor. You start my day with a smile each and every morning.
Can I ask where you found the pretty painting hanging in your breakfast nook and the name of the artist. I love it.
Mix and Match Mama says
Ohhhhh! Thank you so much for saying that! The kids and I bought that painting for Andrew years ago for Father’s Day from an artist on Nantucket who had recently passed (his wife sold it to us). It’s a painting of Nantucket, so we naturally love it too.
Diana Woodlock says
I love all of the Fall decor! 🍁🎃 Want to come and do my house too 🤣 I have 10 year old daughter who loves all things Fall and Halloween!
Rachel Kazmier says
Hello! Lovely as usual! Where are the swivel chairs in your family room from?
Mix and Match Mama says
Restoration Hardware! All of the details are here: https://mixandmatchmama.com/2024/04/kitchen-great-room-refresh/
sandi says
Such a great tour! Everything looks lovely. You have such a great eye for decorating and artwork. How you create gallery walls is really gorgeous!
Jess says
This was such a pleasant part of the morning while eating a pumpkin cheesecake croissant from Trader Joe’s! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Sandra says
Do the squirrels try to eat your pumpkins or is that just a midwest problem? I have not found anything to deter them and the chipmunks actually steal my gourds. Aargh!!! I would love to have real pumpkins but they even gnawed away at my Michael’s fake carveable ones.
Mix and Match Mama says
So far, we haven’t had that issue. Right now, the armadillos are eating my flowers…but that really does sound like a Texas problem 😉 .
Stephanie Snyder says
Perfect balance of real pumpkins and other decor! Always love your holiday home tours and this year did not disappoint!
Karen Silva says
Love seeing your beautiful home! Just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your celebration of fall!
Cheri says
Love all your Fall decorations and you do such a good job. You could open your own store with all you have and it is all placed perfectly.
Kay says
I hope you never stop doing the home tours! Your Fall and Christmas home tours are my absolute favorite posts. Your home looks absolutely beautiful, cozy and inviting! I think it is so important for kids to have these traditions growing up. My oldest just went off to college and I sent him a “fall box” bursting with pumpkin slippers, candles, a book by his favorite author, some candy corn and some of our Trader Joe’s seasonal finds that I would always have waiting for him after school when he lived at home. He was honestly so excited to get it! Even when they get older (teens) they still look upon these little decorations as the sign of a happy home filled with love. Here’s to seasonal decorating!
Mix and Match Mama says
Ohhhhhh!!! I love this so much! I am going to remember this idea, Kay! Thank YOU for sharing it!
Lindsey Smith says
Love it all! Especially the giant dog!!
Amy D. says
Your house is so beautiful, Shay! Thank you for sharing the pictures with us.
I vote that you let Smith help you with the trees! Put those sports muscles to good use. Haha.
Kay Dussouy says
Enjoyed all these pics! Random question, where is the sofa from that I think looks like a kid hang out maybe upstairs? I’m in the market for something similar and I love that length!!
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s from Sean and Catherine’s collection!! We love it so much that we have one on Nantucket too! It’s The Thomas sofa: https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/thomas-136-modular-sectional-hscl1103.html?piid=49594063
Janet Teeter says
I love the painting above the fireplace in your formal living room. Is it buy a local artist?
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you! I bought it at a boutique in Southlake, TX. I think it’s generic, but the colors make me happy.
Stephanie Platt says
Always a favorite post seeing your beautiful and cozy home
Kristy says
I too love the home tours. I love the moose head, I know it’s out all the time!
Shannon Tan says
Love the Halloween spirit and all the house decor! Maybe Sean can help with the Christmas tree this year 😅😂
Christine says
You did a great job! I like the turkey spoon rest. You should all surprise Andrew with putting up the Christmas decorations together, unless you already do that. My sons, who are men now, help me get the decorations out but, of course, I decorate my own home. Thank you again for the idea of keeping seasonal decorations in a storage unit. I love having the open space in my home. Beautiful weather on the east coast.☀️
joanna says

There is no way out 😉It is just cozy and happy, thank you!

Your house looks amazing! You have inspired me to do some decorating! As empty nesters it isn’t always something we do, but this year for sure! Thanks so much for sharing. Love it all so much!
Marisa Patel says
I love decorating for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, but it is a lot of work! Your house looks great, and it inspires me to get started—I’m running a bit behind this year.
K.K. says
You’re inspiring me! I was going to pass on fall decorating and wait for November to do Christmas, but I will pull that box out of the attic with all my pumpkins! 🙂 Love it!
LAUREL ROSS says
Where is the pumpkin squash candle from?
Mix and Match Mama says
Circle E Candles, my FAVORITE candle company!
B. Schmitt says
Where did you get the “hand print” dish made into a pumpkin in the kitchen? I have a new great grandbaby I would love to have done. Thank you for sharing.
Mix and Match Mama says
The SWEETEST lady in our area makes them, but she ships, so she can make them for you too!! It’s Lori Clark on Facebook. Here is the link. Email me if you need her phone number too! https://www.facebook.com/ohhowcutebyLoriClark/?eid=ARBHamiucJ3bJt8X25dR6ZnD4GPhxoI-Z5ZyENgprojNlGSSUZLFlrHDLAoD6eQFOsA08OfzvwKZeSDF&timeline_context_item_type=intro_card_work&timeline_context_item_source=1528852340&fref=tag

Nicole Moller says
Thanks for sharing your house with us. I hope one day I’m able to decorate my house a little more
Kathryn B says
Love your decor everything is so festive and beautiful! This is quite random but would you mind sharing where your office calendar is from? I love that it’s also perfectly themed. (:
Mix and Match Mama says
Isn’t it adorable?! It’s from Amazon! It’s my second year to have one because they make me so happy! https://shopstyle.it/l/cgGmD
Katie Stewart says
Love all the decor, per usual! I couldn’t help but look a little longer at the picture with you and your grandfather in the background on the desk. I got a little teary-eyed just thinking about how very special that relationship between a girl and her grandpa is! ❤️
Happy October!
Mix and Match Mama says
That picture was taken on my 16th birthday, and now that I have a sixteen year old daughter, I’m even more aware how special that relationship was.
Leslie Wilcox says
Your house looks faboolus! I love everything about it. Is the moose head in the den real?
Mix and Match Mama says
The fact that you typed “faboolus” made me day! And yes, it is real!
Lindsey says
We’re getting pumpkins this weekend too so this was great inspiration!
Do you know where the Boo to you sign is from?
Love your home and all the decor, it looks so beautiful and cozy!
Mix and Match Mama says
Hobby Lobby!
Lisa Simpson says
I enjoy your house tours! Could you tell me where you got your miniature houses sitting on the wood table?
Yolanda says
So warm and cozy! Do you happen to remember where the large metal pumpkin on the living room table is from?
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh gosh, I do not. That one is really, really old. My guess is a boutique somewhere, but I don’t remember.
Penny G says
The sandstone pumpkins are my favorite. Each area in your home reflects something of the season – Halloween, pumpkins …
LOVE that!
Lori Worden says
I don’t know why, but I just love your fall decorations so much that I think it’s even cozier than Christmas. Love your style, and that you display even tidbits given to you from your in-laws. Thank you for always letting us see your beautiful home. Happy Fall!
Laura Fredlund says
I love this post every year! Everything is exceptionally cozy and beautiful after your redecorating. I especially love your front room and that large mirror in your entryway. You really have created a gorgeous home and life. I typically read your blog every morning and just love it. Thanks for keeping it going!
Laura Holmes says
The holiday house tours are my favorites! Thank you for doing this again this year. I love your front living room. The paintings, tall bookcases and leather furniture give it such a cozy English vibe. Quick question- I noticed the sea shulls sign on your bookcase upstairs. Did a different sign go on the Nantucket house? That is one of my favorite things your family has done. Manifested a dream that has now come into fruition. Just love it!
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! We have one on our house on Nantucket and another here as a reminder of our favorite little island. Thank YOU For the sweet comment! We bought the sign for our home here about two years before we were ever able to make the dream a reality. Thank you for recognizing that. I’m grateful for YOU!
Alexa says
Your house looks so cozy and inviting! It’s 105 outside as I’m reading this, I can’t even imagine turning our fireplace on even for a picture right now. Glad I could enjoy yours!
Mix and Match Mama says
Well, I enjoyed it while I took the photos and then promptly turned them off. We’re not to fireplace weather yet either!
April A says
Love it all!!! It’s all so cozy!!! And I know this is random… but your turkey spoon holder…IN LOVE!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Isn’t it cute? I bought it a million years ago (*I think*) at Pier One. I love it 🙂 .
Michelle says
Love all your faboolous decor! Random question for you, how do you keep your white pool lounge chair cushions clean? In the Midwest, mine look terrible with tree gunk and pollen!
Mix and Match Mama says
Well, I’m sure if you saw them in person, you’d see some gunk. We pull them in when we’re out of town or when it’s not “pool season”. We’re about to pull them in until the spring. They’re really high quality which helps when I wipe them down, but they’re not perfect up close.
Becca says
I really love the huge skeletons on the front lawn but I feel like if you had a string of lights – you could make it look like the skeleton is “walking” the dog on a leash
Mix and Match Mama says
I mean, how fun is that idea?!
Pam Zercher says
Is Andrew a game hunter? All those heads… 🤩
Mix and Match Mama says
He is!
