Happy Thursday, friends! I am so excited about today because in the spirit of health and wellness, I’m reviewing my new WALKING PAD!
Yes, I know I’m insane.
You guys, I LOVE IT!!
Let me share the deets…
I have been eyeing these walking pads (smaller, lighter, more portable/simplistic/basic versions of a treadmill) for about six months and finally bought myself one two weeks ago. There are many, many different versions, so I read reviews, contemplated my needs and space and landed on THIS ONE.
But Shay, you love walking outside, why do you need a walking pad indoors?
I do LOVE walking outside, and for me, this does not replace that at all (though it could on days when there is inclement weather or it’s just too darn hot). I bought my walking pad to do in my office while I’m on hold (something that happens often as a travel agent!) or when I’m on phone calls that do not require me to be sitting at my desk.
As you know, I’m really trying to focus on my health and wellness and getting up and moving frequently through the day is an easy way to do that.
So now…
…I walk.
This is my WALKING PAD, let me show you a few details…
…most days, I keep mine right here in my office so that I can easily hop up and walk a minute while on hold or just to stretch my legs. I added an extension cord to mine once I realized how easy it was to move around. This way, I’m not limited to locations near outlets. I can move it towards a TV, into another room…the cord just gives me a bit more freedom.
The arms simply pull up, and I’m ready to go.
There are wheels on one end, so I can easily pick it up (with one hand) and move it around. I will say, I was actually surprised when it arrived how heavy it is. For the price, I assumed it would be super light and kind of cheap looking/feeling, but it’s actually pretty darn heavy and sturdy (but easy to maneuver because of the wheels).
I just hop on in my slippers…
…or my bare feet and get a few steps in throughout the day.
I imagine when it gets too cold to head outside, I’ll use it in the mornings to supplement my walk. You can adjust the speeds, and I was surprised by how fast it actually can go. You can certainly jog on it too (and not just walk).
These guys are very intrigued by this new way of “going for a walk” 🙂 .
So, there you go!
When I don’t want it in my office, it easily slides under Madeley’s bed (the closest bed to my office). I am so, so, so pleased with it!!
I don’t know whether you might need an easy way to get up and get moving in your home or office or if you need a fun gift idea for someone, but I truly have been so impressed with the quality of my little walking pad. It was easy to assemble and ready to go! I haven’t done this yet, but I was thinking it would be a great companion to my WEIGHTED VEST too!
Okay, that’s it for today! If you have questions, let me know 🙂 .

Thank you for reviewing this! I’ve been thinking of getting one and I need to know if it would fit under my couch. The dimensions never mention the height when it’s all folded up and ready to slide away under something. It’s kind of a weird question but would you be able to tell me how tall it is when storing it? I would love to know! Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I just measured! At it’s tallest when it’s all folded up, it’s only 5 inches tall. Let me know if you have any other questions!

THANK YOU!!!

This is so great! I love ours as an option for getting in a “virtual hike” while my little kids are sleeping. YouTube has a bunch of free options and with a weighted vest it’s a perfect little boost of endorphins! 💛 Thank you for sharing so much on your health and wellness journey!!!

So smart for a different way to get your steps in! I love following your fitness journey! I try to walk when I’m on calls too to get fresh air or exercise too!
Thanks for sharing!

Loving your health and wellness series as always!
I know you said you are trying to focus on sleep more now than ever before. While you’re certainly not “less” busy now than when your kids were little, I know it was very different. What would you tell younger Shay to do to get more sleep? Skip the 4am work hour? Skip the 9pm hour to yourself? How would you have managed to get more sleep 5-10-15 years ago? Sorry I’m always asking you questions! I’ve just been chewing on this one!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh I would have a lot to say to younger Shay…but I give her grace because she was truly doing what was best for her at the time. I think I would tell her to go to bed earlier. Working out in the morning is the only time I’ve ever really motivated to do it, so I wouldn’t want to unmotivate her to be active. I think I would have just told her to stop staying up until 10:00-ish and go to bed as early as possible.

I bought myself a walking pad and standing desk/table about a month ago and love it! I have lots of zoom meetings and video work and just bop along all day. Best early Christmas gift ever!

Hi Shay!
Is the walking pad very noisy or is it pretty quiet? Wondering if it would disturb the husband during TV time.

Quiet!! You’re the second person to ask me this, so I’ll video it and put it on IG so you can hear!

great to know – I just pulled the trigger and ordered it. 65 years old and have a sit all day desk job – I’m hoping this will help me get steps in while I watch tv at night, read a book on my iphone, or ohh and ahh at all the stuff my granddaughter wants me to watch her do.
Mix and Match Mama says
I truly think you will love it!

Oh Shay, you just seem to be 100% on top of things here lately! I have been contemplating one of these for months!!! This post makes me oh so happy, and now I’m sold for sure!! Thank you, Thank you!! Have a wonderful rest of your week. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Well, you should see the pile of laundry on my bed and then you’d disagree 😉 . I am not doing laundry, but I am getting my steps in!
Maureen Arsenault says
Does it incline?
Mix and Match Mama says
It does not!
Megan says
How loud is it?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t even thought about the sound, so minimal. I’m sitting here now thinking about it and other than the sound of it naturally moving through as I walk, it’s pretty darn quiet.
Marian says
Have you tried using it on carpet? Would that work? Thank you.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve put it on the rug and it works just the same!
Wendy Smith says
I’ve been looking at these for weeks but I’m having a hard time deciding which one to get. Can you use it with the arm bar left down? For example, if I wanted to slide it under my (not standing) desk and walk while on a meeting, could I do that?
Mix and Match Mama says
This one cannot be used unless the arms are upright.
Melissa says
I absolutely love mine and use it way more than I thought I would. Texas weather is always changing and this allows me to walk indoors where it’s not 110, 30, rainy or dark.
Pam says
Wish I would have gotten one with that fold down ipad holder. 🙁 other than that, I love it. Just what I need. I don’t need to run. I don’t need incline. I just want to walk and not outside at 5 in the morning in the dark. It’s great.
Erika Slaughter says
Too funny you posted this! Ebby Lee has this on her Christmas list! haha! I told her I would share it with her.

I have a standup desk at work and absolutely love my walking pad. Great purchase 🙂
Michele says
How fast does it go?
Mix and Match Mama says
Fast enough that you could jog (not sprint).
Nova says
6 mph according to the Amazon link
