Happy Happy Monday, friends!
We spent the weekend in Austin for a rowing competition. It was a little wet, a little cold and a whole lot of fun.
Today, I’m getting my life together for the week, but while I do that, I wanted to share my 30 FEEL GOOD FILMS with you 🙂 .
I shared earlier this month that I enjoyed watching season one of Landman, but if I’m being honest, when it was over, I was ready for a mental/emotional detox of “hard/violent/aggressive” television. I can only take that stuff in very small doses. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been re-watching so many of my favorite films and spoiler alert, they’re all HAPPY!
I made a little list to share with you, but I sure hope you comment and let me know any that I’ve missed.
What I watch and read really does affect me, so it’s good to put as many “feel good” things in my brain as possible.
Here is my list…
…please let me know if you have others! Who doesn’t want to head into March and spring with a little “feel good”?
That’s it for this Monday! I’ll see you all back here tomorrow! xx
Emi says
The Money Pit? Comedy and feel good.
Mix and Match Mama says
When Tom Hanks is laughing over the big hole in the floor…I crack up EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Emi says
Yes!!! That scene, the popcorn scene, stairs are out, so many good ones!
Elspeth Mizner says
Have you seen the new Bridget Jones movie?! Definitely worth the watch! Happy Monday!

Mix and Match Mama says
Andrew and I are saving it for this weekend. I’ve watched the trailer about 15 times though. I loved the book! I cannot wait for the movie!
Jami Romano says
Great list ◡̈
Karleigh Johnson says
Benny and Joon is an old school one for me! My parents loved it as I was growing up so I think there is some nostalgia there 🙂 This is a great list. I’m sure you’ll love to know that I’m still pregnant (40 weeks today), but I’ve really enjoyed resting and watching “feel good” movies in the background! Xoxo
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, you are AT THE FINISH LINE!!! Enjoy these last few moments 😉 .
Amanda says
Miss Congeniality!
Eliza says

Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!!! I should have listed that one! I love love Matthew Goode!
~B~ says
Good Monday morning, Shay! I find myself feeling very similarly, as we just picked back up with 1923 last night and my latest book reads have been psychological thrillers! So yesterday afternoon I found myself wanting to watch (or let’s call it what it really is, my comfort background noise) some of my happy, comfort movies and so many on your list are on mine also. I also have The Wedding Planner, Pitch Perfect and the very silly, but loveable The Wedding Singer in my saved favorites. Have a great week ahead!
Ashley says
Clueless is one of my all time favorites. I always watch it on flights. It’s been on Delta for ages and I hope it never goes away!

Why didn’t I add Return to Me?! That one is SO CUTE!!
Dana P says
Love this and love La La Land! The first time I saw it, I didn’t actually like it. But ever since then, it’s one of my very favorite movies. Bonus points if you can see it on a big screen! And I used to have to pretend that the “alternative ending” was the actual ending, but now I can see a beauty in the real ending. Either way, it won a bunch of awards for a reason and it’s definitely worth re-watching over and over!
I also love Sing 2 and Sing. 🙂 Sing 2 has the best soundtrack, too!
Mix and Match Mama says
Okay, I’ve only seen it once and didn’t care for it. Should I try it again? I didn’t care for The Family Stone the first time I watched it, and now, it’s one of my very favorite movies.
Dana P says
I feel the same way about The Family Stone! So funny. You absolutely should watch La La Land again. Sometimes they replay it in theaters, too!
Kara says
The hundred-foot journey was super cute!
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!! I forget about that one, but it’s so sweet and the setting is beautiful.
Coey says
Love all of those 🥰

Kathy says
Great list!
Also, Little Women 1994 version
Adrienne N says
A Good Year! Russell Crowe investment banker inherits a vineyard in Provence, etc. It’s very Under the Tuscan Sun-ish with different plot.
Mix and Match Mama says
You’re right! I watched that one (I think) last year and really liked it. Great suggestion!
Stephanie Naff says

Never Been Kissed
Mix and Match Mama says

The Thrill of It All (Doris Day)
Pillow Talk (Doris Day, Rock Hudson)
Houseboat (Cary Grant,Sophia Loren)
Man’s Favorite Sport (Rock Hudson, Paula Prentiss)
Summertime (Katherine Hepburn)
An Affair to Remember Deborah Kerr, Cary Grant)
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!! THANK YOU!!! These are fantastic additions!
Kelly says
Cher (and Shay), have you seen The Glass Bottom Boat? It’s another Doris Day one. A comedy — they work at an aerospace company and people think she’s a spy (that all happens early in the movie — no spoilers!) I watched with my kids last week and most of them enjoyed it (I did kind of prep them that it was “old fashioned” and they were welcome to leave the room and go read if they didn’t enjoy!) It’s free (with ads) on YouTube (not a bootleg version — it’s called “YouTube TV” but no $ subscription needed).
We also were considering watching That Thing You Do! which is another one of my favorites, or Emma (Gwyneth Paltrow) or Sense and Sensibility.
Cher says
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for “The Glass Bottom Boat” Doris Day movie recommendation. I looked at a couple trailers online and noticed a scene filmed on Catalina Island. It put a smile on my face, since that is where my husband proposed to me. I remember riding on the glass bottom boat on that trip. Looking forward to watching the entire movie. Thank you again! 😊
Warm regards,
Cher
Lisa N says
Love your list! The Intern is currently my favorite go to feel good movie. Plus with grandkids Peter Rabbit is a regular. Also love Ever After.

Three excellent recs!
Kathy says
Love The Intern!
Kay says
Clueless can always get me in a good mood! I love the Money Pit too. Lastly, Sixteen Candles! Brings me back to childhood.
Sarah M. says
Ever After, the retelling of Cinderella starring Drew Barrymore, used to be my go-to when I needed a nice comforting movie. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen stars Emily Blunt and Ewen McGregor and is just adorable. About Time with Rachel McAdams, Domhnall Gleeson, and Bill Nighy is another great one.
I found I liked La La Land better the second time I watched it.
Ashleigh says
Life As We Know it, with Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl! It’s a great one 😊
Jess says
Yes!
Kim says

Stacie says
I liked Landman but did not like how Taylor Sheridan wrote the female parts. I was looking more for the “Beth” character in the females.
Mix and Match Mama says
I agree with this. Have you seen Lioness? It’s my favorite Taylor Sheridan show, and it has very strong female characters.
Lauren says
Love these. I also love grown ups 1 & 2, forever my girl and just go with it with Adam Sandler
Jess Wade says
I might not normally think about this one. But since Valentine’s Day just happened, it was on TV and now I’ve watched it 3 times since then. The movie “Valentine’s Day” is a good one. It’s Love Actually-esque in that there are so many famous people in the movie and all their stories seem to intertwine somehow. It’s cute and funny.
Amy N says
Love your list! I’d add Just Go With It – Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, so funny and feel-good! Have you seen it?

Ashley says
Maid in Manhattan
Just Married
Fried Green Tomatoes
Charmin says
Two Weeks Notice, The Switch(Jason Bateman), The Devil Wears Prada, Knight and Day…. Also, side note, how do you wade through the explicit profanity and taking God’s name in vain on Taylor Sheridan’s shows? Do you use a filter? Does that work. Just wondering. Tried watching, but just can’t with the profanity. 😊
Keisha Dawson says
Such a great list! So many favorites on here. I would add Father of the Bride I & II. They are comfort movies for me.
Katie says
Okay… BABY BOOM! A true late 80s/ early 90s feel good transformation movie with Diane Keaton. Set in Vermont, the coziest Nancy Meyers aesthetic, incredible fashion, the timelessness of it all. I love to put this movie on when I’m folding laundry, especially in the fall or winter :)!
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!! I haven’t watched that one in ages! Thank YOU!
Marisa Patel says
It seems like a good cry movie works for me because I am able to let it all out and blame it on the movie. I do love a feel good movie with Reese Witherspoon. Your list is really good and I saw a lot of good recs in your comments that I am going to have to check out too!
Jamie S. says

Julie Hicks says
I cannot believe how many of these I’ve never seen! I am going to make a list and start working my way through all of them because the ones I do recognize are great for a re-watch. I’m starting chemotherapy on Wednesday and while it’s a very small dose and shouldn’t put me out of action totally, there is never a wrong time for happy! We watch far too much TV and have always really enjoyed the crime series, the darker movies, etc. Since my operation (total lung removal), I’m finding all the feels in things like Sweet Magnolias again. Thanks for the great ideas!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, I hope you’re doing well! I feel like you TOTALLY need to watch all of these as you recover 🙂 .
Julie Hicks says
It’s taken over a week – almost two – but I have a printed list of all of these suggestions whether or not I’ve seen them. My 16-year old granddaughter spends the night with us every other weekend or so; she and I (and her Mama, my daughter) love movies and THIS is where we’ll find our next watch. I can’t wait! First chemo was fine but the nausea that hit me about 48 hours after was not at all fine. I only have three more treatments so I can do this and these movies will help! Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Well goodness, this is an excellent idea!! Sending you so so so much love as you persevere through chemo. YOU’VE GOT THIS!!!! Praying, praying!!
Lauren G says
Love this list! I agree that you should give La La Land another chance. I absolutely love it (but I do cry every time I watch it). Have you seen French Kiss with Meg Ryan? It’s so cute and takes place in Paris!
Lauren Palmer says
I would definitely add French Kiss to that list!
Mix and Match Mama says
That one is so so cute!!
Karen says
Off topic but I’m wondering which Apple Watch you’re wearing these days and which one so far has been your favorite. Good deals out there through February! Thnx
Mix and Match Mama says
I’m still wearing the 9. I think I’ve had them all, and this one is my favorite. They tweak it just enough to make the ‘newest’ one the best one.
Heather says
Sometime can we do a run down of feel good tv shows that you can watch with kiddos? My kids are 15 and 13 and we’re having trouble finding things we can all watch together. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
