In honor of it almost being Spring Break, I asked Andrew if he would please share another “beach ready” workout for us. I have been sharing these at home (or at the gym!) workouts with you ladies for years. I have been doing this one at home (and plan on doing it today too!). It’s great because all you need are dumbbells.
Awwww! Here we are from Spring Break last year! I love this guy 🙂 .
Okay, I added a Youtube link for each exercise in case you have no idea how to start.
There are pairs of exercises below. You need to “superset” all of these pairs (which means go back and forth only resting in the time it takes you to walk or start the next exercise…maybe 15-20 seconds max). Do not sit down or check your phone, but walk and talk, and stay in constant motion.
Equipment needed for the following exercises: 5,10,15, 20, 25 pound dumbbells (depending on what you have and/or typically lift). If the number of reps decreases each time, that’s an indication to add more weight. For example, if it says 15, 12, 10, then you could start with 15 reps of 5 pounds and then do 12 reps of 8 pounds and finally 10 reps of 10 pounds. Make sense? He does not indicate specific dumbbells for each rep as you need to do what is safe and effective for YOU. My tip though would be to write down how heavy you’re lifting for each set and then the next time you do it, see if you can’t tweak it just a bit.
Okay, here we go…

I know Andrew doesn’t need another job, but he could totally create an app of his own!! Love when you (both) share these. There’s always a couple new exercises I’ve never tried and love learning.

Awwww, thank you!!!

A quick question, Shay just to make sure, you do the 3 different sets of the hammer curls before moving on to the skull crushers…in other words, you complete all the sets for one exercise before you move on to the next? Thank you so much!!
Mix and Match Mama says
You absolutely can, but I actually go back and forth. I do one set of hammer curls and then a set of skull crushes and repeat.

Thank you Shay and Andrew! This will really up my game 😊.

Are all of the “rounds” done in one workout session?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! This specific workout takes me about 45 minutes if I go from one exercise to the next without stopping.

Thanks for sharing, I’ve been looking for a workout like this to get ready for the summer!
How many times a week would you recommend doing this workout?
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
For me, I think twice would be ideal!
