I agree about Oxford, MS! Arts festivals, SEC sports, and colorful tulips abound in April.

Shay,
I thought 2 in Michigan??? Oxford, MS.
We have been to Holland, MI before the tulip festival tourists come… It is beautiful. We have not watched the new movie Nicole Kidman is in about Holland, MI on Prime. I know people were all a buzz when she was here for a few days filming.
I will agree with DC if you can time it with tht cherry blossoms. We were lucky to be there when they were in full bloom and it was beautiful!!!

I would add Wilmington, NC! We’re on the coast, and our town is adorable. And Southport, NC (45 minutes away) is VERY charming.
Jacki says
I would agree (from another Wilmingtonian) – the azalea’ s are in bloom, the live oaks are filling out for the season, the beaches and downtown as fun to explore, there are plenty of breweries to keep you occupied, Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre starts back up with concerts, and other charming towns are within close proximity – New Bern, Beaufort, Ocean Isle, Topsail, Bald Head Island… and the humidity has not arrived yet!
Jenn says
Jacki- YES! I’m originally from Wilm, so it is great to see you here! I am so stoked to get to some concerts at GLA this season.

Come visit Skagit Valley in WA state. This time of year is the tulip festival! Akagit valley is home to many flower farms!

We were just in Sedona two weekends in a row. The first weekend it was snowing big, beautiful snow flakes, and the second was a lovely spring day for hiking. Both were amazing!

Loved this series! I’m lucky to have been to several of the places throughout all of the series. Living in New England helps 😉 I am excited to check out a bunch more of the suggestions, I’ve added lots of new places to my travel wish list!

Love this! My sister lives in Greenville,SC and there is local creamery called The Happy Cow where they have all sorts of cheeses and milks and local goods. Right across the street is this little old lady who has a bookshop in the front of her house called The Recycled Reader. She knows that place inside out and if you are looking for a book she knows exactly where it is. And her prices are amazing. Like $2 for hardback $1 for paperback but she often gives you “a deal” if you buy a good amount. Also in downtown they have what is called “Mice on Main” and here is the description:
In a lot of cities, the last thing you want to see is a mouse. This isn’t the case in Greenville, where nine bronze mice have taken up permanent residence along our celebrated Main Street. Conceived as part of Jim Ryan’s high school senior project (back in 2000) and inspired by the children’s book Goodnight Moon, the mice were brought to life by local sculptor and illustrator Zan Wells. Author Linda Kelly joined the team, and “Mice on Main” has become a beloved Greenville institution—from the scavenger hunt to the children’s book, board game, and T-shirts. Using the clues to hunt for each mouse makes a stroll along Main Street extra fun for kids of all ages.
Greenville’s bronze mice are spaced out on one side of Main Street or the other, from the Hyatt Regency to the Westin Poinsett. Use the clues to find all nine mice! Happy hunting! 🧀
