So much goodness in one little week 🙂 .
Okay, as always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
It’s Friday, y’all!
Easter weekend was a success at the Shull’s house!
All was calm and quiet on Saturday morning as I cooked and got ready for my family of 596 to arrive for our annual Easter dinner.
We heated the pool for an afternoon/early evening of fun. The kiddos swam, the adults played dominoes and watched baseball…it was a great day!
This year, I did a taco bar menu that included both my CHEESY RANCH TACOS and I made my EASY BRISKET for brisket tacos too. I made queso, guacamole, rice, had all the toppings and we had my INDIVIDUAL MINI TRIFLES for dessert…
…this is my Grandmother’s recipe made into minis (but you can make one large trifle too!).
Throw in a charcuterie board for snacking, and it was a feast!
My sweet dad came home from Australia just this last Tuesday (he had been there almost four weeks on a mission trip!), so my mom came to our Easter dinner solo…yet bringing her epic Easter baskets 🙂 . I tell my mom this every single Easter, but she should really GO INTO BUSINESS MAKING EASTER BASKETS. The woman has a gift!
Apparently, I was too busy having fun to stop and take pics because this is the only other one I have from our day…
…three sweet girls enjoying their Easter 🙂 .
On Sunday morning, our family was up bright and early…
…to attend the 8:00 AM Easter service at church. It was such a beautiful service.
After church, we headed to brunch…
…geez, I love these four.
I love this guy too!! Right after brunch, we went home, he changed clothes and then started his drive from McKinney, TX to Nantucket, MA. Thirty hours in the car and a two hour ferry ride over later, and he made it on island with our second vehicle to keep there. Now that we have three (almost four!) drivers, we added a second vehicle to get us all around. As much as I love going to Nantucket, I was happy to skip all of that driving 😉 .
And for those of you who love green too, my dress is HERE.
Speaking of Nantucket…
…I bought two necklaces to take with me this summer. They felt very “take me to an island”. There is a PEARL NECKLACE and a STARFISH CHARM NECKLACE.
I am wearing it with, yup, MY GAUZE BUTTON UP TOP (and that cute SPORTS BRA FROM TARGET) underneath…
…I can’t quit THIS BUTTON UP TOP! This was me just yesterday!
And for those of you who love a STRIPED TEE as much as me, here you go too 🙂 . This was my Monday #ootd!
Was there ever a more perfect TRAVEL MUG? I think not.
I am already so excited to share my APRIL BOOK REVIEW!
This is super random, but I have been outside so much this week (we have had some gorgeous weather!) and…
…MY CHAIRS just make me happy 🙂 .
Seriously, how many YEARS have I been sharing THESE CHAIRS with you?! YEARS.
I bet we have at least 10 or 12 here in McKinney and then another four on Nantucket.
They’re super super light weight, SO SO COMFORTABLE, they last forever (which is why I have so many), are weather resistant, easy to stack and move, come in so many colors (red has always been my favorite). I just love them and realized they had never officially been a Friday Fave. Two BIG thumbs up for my ADIRONDACK CHAIRS 🙂 .
Speaking of oldie but goodie favorites…
Since Andrew has been gone this week, I let each kiddo select what I’m making for dinner each night.
…and when it was Kensington’s turn, she picked my CHICKEN FRIED RICE (so easy!). I pull my GRIDDLE PAN out all the time to make everything from breakfast to dinner. It should definitely be a favorite of mine.
You can use it over two burners or pop it in the oven. I just saw that right now, IT’S ON SALE!
It comes in so many different colors too. This GRIDDLE PAN would make an excellent Mother’s Day or wedding gift too!
That wraps up this week in blog world!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! I’ll see you back here on Monday! xx

I ordered the griddle pan from one of your previous blogs and love it. I too have gifted it and I have also purchased their skillets and one of their cast iron pots. I love them bc they are toxic free and clean up is a breeze!

The links In your Friday faves for the mini trifles did not work but your separate post just about the trifles did work! Just wanted to clarify that!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you for letting me know. I updated the links. Happy Friday!
Eliza Baer says
We have started eating out for brunch too after church on Easter, and we LOVE it! As our children get older, we all just love to go to a fun restaurant, laugh, eat great food and then just spend the afternoon lounging in our pajamas. No clean up or prep makes us more present in the day and with our family.
Amy says
That chicken fried rice looks so good!!!
Natalie Bayliff says
What cars are you choosing for your teens? We have a soon to be licensed driver and looking for a car for him is a little overwhelming- we want safe! Thank you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Kensington is driving Andrew’s former car. It’s hard because these are our babies we’re sending out there!
Lizzie says
busy fun week! just checked out your chairs and is it just me but the link doesn’t look the same as yours in your pics?
Mix and Match Mama says
I am so sorry about that! I corrected the link 🙂 .
Pam Ross says
Tell us more about your moms Easter baskets… what all does she put in them?
Mix and Match Mama says
Always a pair of flip flops/sandals for summer, candy, a book, some sort of puzzle or game (like a Rubik’s cube or Sudoku, etc) and something special to that kid (for instance, Kensington got a Precious Moments figurine…which she collects). She just makes them so personal and beautiful.
Jaime says
I saw your instant Pot out! What did you make with it?
Mix and Match Mama says
I used the “slow cooker” setting and kept my queso in there 🙂 .
Lindy says
The chairs that you linked are not the chairs in your pictures. Do you have a link for the plastic, lightweight ones?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I corrected it. Sorry! https://www.lowes.com/pd/Adams-Mfg-Corp-Stackable-Plastic-Stationary-Adirondack-Chair-s-with-Slat-Seat/3448538
