‘Tis the Season Saturday {09.27.25}


Happy Saturday!

Thank you so much for spending a few minutes with me this weekend.

Those fourths are just the sweetest.  Our little Charlie is basically a ragdoll.  He just lets us pick him up and carry him around all day.

Neither one of these two have ever had a bad day 🙂 .

Local friends, if you’re not getting a Starbucks and…

…walking around in the boutique area at Market Street (our neighborhood grocery store), you are MISSING OUT on so much JOY!

Walking around and looking at the fall things always always always makes me happy.  If you have a local boutique that gets seasonal this time of year, you should just stop by for a walk through.  I guarantee you’ll leave with an extra pep in your step.

On Friday morning, I ran a few errands with my favorite little shopper…

…which included stopping by Target to get both Mades and Ashby new bags for trick or treating.  How cute is THIS ONE?!

This was an easy yes for us!

We are currently…

…OBSESSED with the new season of Dancing with the Stars.  This has been Madeley’s favorite TV show for years.  I am not exaggerating when I say she watches at least one episode every day.  She watches old seasons on repeat over here.  We always watch it live so that she can vote and this season, our favorite is Robert Irwin.  We love him!  Typically Mades and I watch it by ourselves, but we even have Andrew watching it this season.

On Tuesday, the three of us watched the first 90ish minutes together and then Andrew said he was going to bed.  During a commercial break, he got up to take a shower, and I went in the bathroom too to grab my slippers.  As I was walking through, he said to himself in the bathroom “Dang it, Madeley, I can’t go to sleep now until I know who gets kicked off”…and he went back to watch the rest with us.  Bahahaha!  We are hooked.  It’s just SWEET TV.

Speaking of sweet…

…I bought new pillows from my cousin’s pillow shop for my balcony.  So cute for fall, right?!

    I’m EXTRA happy this fall Saturday because my girl is home from college for the weekend! I’m getting ready to make your pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (her request!) and then this evening my husband is taking us to see Tyler Childers! It will be a great little family date.     We are loving Rob on dancing with the stars too! It’s the last thing I want to watch but my daughter loves it and wants me to watch with her so it’s a nice bonding moment! We also love watching amazing race as a family. We pick teams and then root for our teams all season. End of season winner gets a little prize! Makes it so fun to watch.

    We love DWTS! My oldest has friends over every Tuesday to watch it and they have a pyramid with everyone’s photo and put them in order of their favorites to win. My middle one watches it from a far and we are texting throughout the night. And my youngest watches it with her college roommates and they have a big pyramid on a wall with the same photos, etc. She even made paddles so they could rate the dances – obviously we are fans!

    I walked around hobby lobby last night with my daughter, and yes, it was glorious! But I have a question, Does it ever concern you that Mades never has a bad day? I mean we all do, right? We all get sick and it makes us upset. Or we get a bad grade or eat something we don’t like or it rains and our shoes get wet, or we get a bad grade. We all have bad days. Doesn’t mean we aren’t happy or positive people. But we all have bad days. It is not normal to never have a bad day. Maybe she is hiding her bad days from you.

      I think you can have ups and downs without it making the entire day bad. Her disposition and optimistic outlook on everything reminds me so much of my dad’s mom. My dad’s mom lived through World War II, buried a very young son-in-law, had many personal issues with her family and yet, always glowed from within. I think see the same with Mades. It comes from a very genuine place.

        Love this. Yes, I think there are many people, though a small percentage of the population, who never have a bad day. Hard times, bad moments, but not a bad day.

    I started my gorgeous, sunny, Saturday at a showing for my 19y/o son’s friends mom who was 55 and passed suddenly this week…when I got back into the car after talking in the parking lot to other friends in the sun I complained about how hot I’d become doing that. Then I opened her memorial card and one of the lines was “I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun”. Just wow. I cried, changed clothes and took a long walk outside in the sun. ❤️

    I made your Sausage, onions and peppers stuffed acorn squash last week…except I used leftover grilled chicken thighs instead of the sausage and it was so delicious!! My hubby loved it too! Made us feel fall even though it’s 90 degrees in central florida!!

    Have you watched The Summer I Turned Pretty yet? If you haven’t, you need to start today and then you can thank me later LOL. The creator Jenny Han is a big Taylor Swift fan, so there are lots of Taylor songs throughout the 3 seasons–she used a ton in the last season!!! It’s probably my #1 favorite show ever!!

    I love that about Mades! My mom is the same way and it’s just the best example to me. My mom says every day as soon as she wakes up and opens her eyes, she says out loud “Oh, thank you, Lord for another day!” She truly takes each as a gift and has always been the most positive upbeat person! I wish I had more of that naturally from her but I do strive to be that way more and more as I’ve gotten older. We all need the blessing of a Madeley in our lives! 🙂

    Fall is my favorite! Here in Colorado the Aspens are almost finished glowing golden colors. I’m taking 50 fifth graders to camp next week. The air is cool and crisp! Sitting on our deck around the fireplace is cozy. Waking up to the Ring video of bears in our backyard reminds me we are all getting ready for winter!
