Happy Friday, friends!
Well goodness, it’s been a full little week over here.
Three out of the four kiddos didn’t have school on Monday (Spring Break included that one extra day), we had extracurricular activities for everyone, a spring football meeting, and Andrew’s parents are in town visiting. Plus, yesterday was Opening Day which means, I closed down shop at 3:00 to watch the first Red Sox game of the season.
Goodness, I love me some baseball season 🙂 .
Alrighty, per usual, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s favorite things.
It’s almost the weekend, y’all!

When I shared about our day at Auschwitz in January, I mentioned that our day there inspired Mades to select Anne Frank as her historical figure in the Living History Museum this year. On Wednesday night, we headed up to school for Open House and to hear our own little Anne share her story…

…Mades did fantastic! She has been reading books and doing her research on Anne Frank for about two months. She had a speech memorized and did such a great job sharing Anne Frank’s life.
I will say though that I laughed out loud when I walked into her classroom…

…and saw these two photos of my dog taped to the teacher’s whiteboard. Apparently Mades asked Andrew to print them out for her to show her teacher and the teacher made him the “class pet”. Bahahaha! Sweet Charlie.
On Wednesday night, the trash talking started at the Shulls’ house.
You guys, Ashby Shull is sweet as pie until baseball season and then she instantly morphs into an obnoxious Yankee JUST LIKE HER DAD.
On Thursday morning…

…they both came downstairs dressed like this. Bahahaha!
‘Tis the season of our house being divided.

Getting dressed and out the door in a few of my favorite comfy pieces were certainly faves this week…

I pulled out MY GAUZE TOP and FAVORITE TENNIS SKIRT with my SANDALS for Monday.
You know, you know, YOU KNOW that I’m obsessed with both my top and my skirt. I have both in many different colors, and I love them because they make me look pulled together while also being really comfortable and not wrinkly. My exact top is from last year, but there are so many solids and stripes available now (I have several of them!).
I’ve been trying to find “comfy” clothes to wear while I’m working/doing chores/driving kids around that are not always “athleticwear”. I loved…

…THESE STRIPED PANTS so much that I bought a similar pair…

…IN NAVY too! These drawstring beach pants come in many other color options too. These pants come in different lengths as well. I’m 5’3″ and ordered the “short”.
This was the easiest little #ootd!
You can find my TEE and SANDALS too.
But of course…

…I ended up in athleticwear too 🙂 . MY TANK + MY FAVORITE SPORTS BRA (I bought it in bright pink!) + THESE LINED SHORTS for the win!
Speaking of winning…

You guys, I finally signed up for…

…and I’m so excited. I’ve asked you before about Brit Box because it’s always one of those things I “mean to do” but just don’t ever get around to actually doing. What pushed me over the edge this time was that I really want to start watching Gardners’ World.
It’s spring and that always encourages me to get outside and into my garden.
That being said, WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BE WATCHING?
If you are a Brit Box fan, please, please share your favorite shows and series with me. I would love to know!

If you are looking for any last minute Easter ideas to put in those baskets, I have a few very random things for you…

I obviously am buying this 6-7 ACTIVITY BOOK for Mades. Ha!

THESE GUYS are so random and yet so popular right now.

All three of my girls LOVE THESE.

THESE are always a hit with my kids!

This BALL SET GAME would be great for a basket!

And I thought this little EGG SET was super cute for the littles.
Speaking of Easter…

…today, I’m sharing my EGG-CELLENT EASTER RECIPES!
From Peeps to Cadbury Creme Eggs, coconut, carrot and of course, jelly beans, I have some festive and delicious sweet recipes for your holiday!
Happy Friday, friends! I hope you have a gorgeous spring day! I’ll see you back here on SUNDAY! xx

Anytime I need little “things” for Smith (like for his stocking), I go for candy, gum, flip flops, fidget toys, Rubix cubes…things like that. He still loves any sort of bouncy ball too 🙂 .

Mix and Match Mama says
xs short!

Shay I love your earrings. Are you still wearing the daith piercing you got done? Are your girls trying to copy you with an ear stack?
Mix and Match Mama says
I am still wearing all of my earrings. Kensington and Ashby don’t really wear earrings at all, but Mades almost always has a pair in. As of now, no one seems to care about adding more to their ears. 🙂
Emily says
Love the faves! Unfortunately I have added the 6-7 activity book to my cart for my preteen’s Easter basket 😆
Kelli says
Love the beach pants! Thanks for sharing! Did you get the short or regular length and how tall are you? Happy Friday!
Mix and Match Mama says
Great question! I’ll add this to the post as well. I bought the short and I’m 5’3″.

Hi Shay! New product alert. I love CR, and I have used her shampoo/conditioner for years and years. However, the last time I got my hair done, my salon used the best smelling products I’ve ever come across. In addition, these products made my (brunette) hair the absolute shiniest I’ve honestly ever seen. Now that you’re brunette, you may want to try a few of these! The shampoo and conditioner are excellent, but my favorite product so far is the ‘blow dry spray.’ It gives you such a smooth, glossy look. And did I mention the smell? https://goldielocks.com.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend and go Sox!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love beauty recs!! Thank you, thank you, Kay!
Paula Hobbs says
The girls look so grown up in that jersey picture!! I’m so jealous of their hair!! They favor their Aunt Catherine! 🙂 #hairgoals

Hey Shay! I was reading today’s post and it reminded me that I need to ask something random 😂. Back when you threw a birthday party for your dad I had asked where you got the real life cutouts of your dad made. You told me and I can’t find the info! Help! 😅
Mix and Match Mama says
Fat Head 🙂
Sue Jones says
Do you have a picture of Mades that doesn’t have a smile? She just shouts JOY! I wish I could meet her!
Mix and Match Mama says
Always.
Stacey Blackford says
I’ve been eyeing the gauze top for a long time, but I won’t buy anything I have to iron. Do you iron it or is it wash and wear?
Mix and Match Mama says
Wash, dry, wear and repeat!

I can’t remember from your book reviews, but have you read The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave? It’s a super quick read. Suspenseful but not scary at all. She recently released a sequel, The Last Time I Saw Him. Apple TV made it into a series. I’m only a few episodes in, but I really like it so far and the casting is great. I’d read the books first but I am also really enjoying the show.
Mix and Match Mama says
I had to go back and look, but I did read that one! https://mixandmatchmama.com/2021/08/august-2021-book-review/
