Happy happy Friday, friends!
Yesterday afternoon, Andrew and Smith came back to Nantucket and this weekend, Kensington will make her way here too. The Shull Six will wrap up our summer on Nantucket and then head back to McKinney for the start of a new school year. We are all excited about this upcoming fall (so many BIG transitions for our family this school year!), but before we head back, I want to make sure I’m super plugged in and enjoy every minute of these next few days. So…I will be blogging today and then taking a break to enjoy my family time until Monday, August 7th.
As much as I will miss being here with you guys next week, I think I will miss not being in the moment with my peeps even more, so have a wonderful weekend, a lovely week, and I’ll see you August 7th.
Now, it’s time for my weekly Faves 🙂 .
As always, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s FAVORITE THINGS!
Cue the Christmas carols (did someone say The Carpenters?!), pour yourself a peppermint mocha, turn on the twinkle lights and enjoy Fave #1 because it combines two of my VERY FAVORITE THINGS…
Woohoo!!!!! When my very favorite skincare brand Colleen Rothschild Beauty reached out and asked if I wanted to collaborate this week here on my blog for their CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE, I was like YES, YES, YES, PLEASE!
You guys, I LOVE COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD BEAUTY! I’ve been using this skincare exclusively and talking about it repeatedly now for YEARS.
My own mom (and several of my dear friends!) were loving it so much and seeing healthier, more radiant, true results that it was easy for me to try the first time and even easier to fall in love with it.
You guys know I love all things beauty, but did you know what my mom and her mom both instilled in me? Spend your time, energy and money on SKINCARE and not makeup. Glowing and healthy skin should be your first priority and then add makeup to enhance but not cover. You don’t need to cover up great skin…so work on that first!
I love Colleen Rothschild Beauty and truly see results when I use it each day. Right now…
…if you use code JULY25, you will receive 25% off site-wide through July 31st! That is a HUGE savings!
I went into my BATHROOM BAG and pulled my tried and true faves to remind you of what I love to buy and use myself…
I love so many Colleen Rothschild Beauty products, but these six here have been my superstars this summer on Nantucket.
#1: RADIANT CLEANSING BALM is always the #1 product I recommend. I take my makeup off and wash my face with this every single day. You know how sometimes when you wash your face, your skin feels tight right after? This does the complete opposite. Not only does it remove even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup, but it leaves your skin more hydrated and moisturized without feeling heavy or greasy. After years of using this, I cannot imagine using anything else to cleanse my skin and remove my makeup.
#2: VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM is a new-er addition to my skincare routine. I first started using this as my nighttime moisturizer this spring and am already on my second jar. It’s so hydrating and moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling really great the next morning. Speaking of Vitamin C…
#3: VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SERUM is also a new-er addition to my skincare routine. I have always loved using vitamin C serums, so I was PUMPED when this was added to their collection. I bought it right away and haven’t looked back. I apply just a bit of this to my face and neck every morning before my daytime moisturizer.
#4: RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM is one of the products I’ve been using since Day #1! I just looked back on my blog, and I first blogged about this eye serum in 2019. I bought this because my mom told me this was one of her staple products…and now, it’s mine too. I like to apply a thin layer under my eyes both morning and night as part of my skincare routine.
#5: AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM is my evening serum that I apply after I cleanse and before I moisturize. It truly is a “super” serum packing quite a punch with more than 20 ingredients to fight the six signs of aging (texture, dehydration, elasticity, fine lines, radiance and tone). I’ve used it for YEARS and truly think it’s made a huge difference with my skin. If you only try one of these products right now, I would say this is the BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! This serum is basically like six serums in one and right now with promo code 25JULY, it goes from $95 to $71.25 which is a big savings for such a super star serum. My mom and I both use this as part of our daily routine.
#6: SHEER RENEWAL CREAM has been my daily go-to moisturizer since 2019. I wear this every single day regardless if I’m going out, staying in, wearing makeup or not. It’s light, not heavy, not greasy and yet super hydrating and easy to wear under SPF and makeup.
So, just to recap, here are MY MORNING FAVES:
RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM + VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SERUM + SHEER RENEWAL CREAM
And here are my EVENING FAVES:
RADIANT CLEANSING BALM + AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM + RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM + VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM
So, don’t forget, right now through the 31st, everything is 25% off site-wide at Colleen Rothschild Beauty with code 25JULY.
One last thing to think about is…
…THE DISCOVERY COLLECTION! Whether you’re like me and want travel-sized items to take with you on trips or if you’re not sure and just want to try out some of Colleen Rothschild’s most popular products at a great price is travel-sized containers, this kit is for you! This + AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM would make an excellent starting point for a new skincare routine!
Christmas in July and skincare makes for a GREAT Friday Fave! Thank you, Colleen Rothschild Beauty for partnering with me today!
My second Fave this week was an easy one…
…it’s my JULY BOOK REVIEW! The beach plus a book and I’m one happy girl! Make sure you check out the post AND THE COMMENT SECTION for your new great summer read!
Ashby, Mades and me enjoyed our Girl Week! We missed the other half of our family, but it was certainly fun to let them be in charge of our days. On Wednesday, we headed into town around 3:00. Our first stop was a snack at The Green Market…
…followed by strolling town and doing a little shopping.
We might have stopped for a little candy (her mouth, ha!)…
…they selected dinner at The Charlie Noble…
…and no evening in town could be complete without…
…a stop at The Juice Bar 🙂 .
Hi, my name is Shay, and I’m currently addicted to The Great British Baking Show. I used to watch it regularly, but I stopped a few seasons ago and well, I’m back. A new season just dropped on Wednesday, so this week, I’ve been catching up with Season 10. It’s just so lovely. Everyone is nice, there isn’t any foul language or violence, it’s sweet, peaceful, educational, relaxing…it’s just quality TV.
This week, sharing our bACKYARD here on Nantucket with you was one of my Faves! If you didn’t see the tour, you can catch it HERE 🙂 .
Speaking of the YARD & SHOWER TOUR, after my outdoor shower yesterday, I snapped this pic as I made my way to my closet to get ready…
…you guys, THESE MICRO FIBER HAIR TOWELS are a total Fave of mine! I have a lot of hair and yet, it wraps up nice and neat and easily in these towels. Plus, it helps my hair dryer faster and doesn’t make it frizzy. I love them!
Finally, wrap up your week with my SUMMER CORN RECIPES! From burgers to pastas, dips, sides and so much more, I LOVE CORN in a recipe! You can see all of my delicious (and easy!) options HERE.
Alright, I’m out until August 7th! I hope you all have a wonderful week! I’ll see you in McKinney, TX! xx

I love those microfiber towels. I think you might have recommended them before? I saw them somewhere and purchased them right away for me and my daughter and we use them all the time.
Love love love!

Yes! I did in the spring! I really love them so much!

Oh Shay, i have loved reading about your Nantucket summer….so much happiness! I hope you have the lovliest week squeezing every last bit of fun and fanily out of every single moment.

We love GBBO in our house, and you need to check out the Junior Bake Off. You will gasp in horror and laugh until you cry watching these kids bake. Some of them are actually pretty incredible, but you’re hoping that others won’t set themselves and/or the tent on fire. Highly recommend.
Kristy says
Hey Shay! Quick question- I think you’ve said Before that mosquitoes unfortunately love you…any tips (or products) you use so you’re able to enjoy your outdoor space?
Mix and Match Mama says
They do not seem to be a problem here, but they are a problem in Texas (and they were really a problem when we went to Turks). The only thing that seems to work for me is good old fashioned Off and sometimes, that’s not even enough.

Enjoy the rest of your stay!!

Do you have a link to those cute sneaks in the picture with your grandma? Thanks!

Enjoy your last little bit on Nantucket! I know it’s been a fun summer! And random, but what is your go-to ice cream flavor to get? I love seeing the different types of flavors people enjoy! Happy Friday!

We always play a game where you try to order something different every time. I *typically* like to try their special of the day (it changes daily), but my three faves at The Juice Bar are Green Monster (mint chocolate chip with sugar cookie dough), Dirty Grasshopper (chocolate with mint Oreos) and Chocolate PB Cookie Dough.

Time to STOCK UP on my CR favorties!!! Enjoy your last week!

Hi Shay. I have LOVED following along on the Nantucket lifestyle you have been living. The family seems to be truly living their very best life and it makes me so so so happy for all of you.
Enjoy these precious moments of summer fun with your family.

Love all your pictures!! And wow, why are the book posts (yesterday) just SO FUN too!
Sometime, I think it would be fun to read a book specific q&a! Questions I would ask: If you got to be in a movie of one of your favorite books, which book and which character would you most want to play? OR what character – if any – has seemed/felt MOST like you? AND If you were to write a fictional or non-fiction book, what kind of story or topic would you choose?
Anyway, just a thought! Happy weekend! Thanks for bringing the cheer to my Friday morning!
Mix and Match Mama says
I love this thought! I love it a lot!! xx

Word to the wise from a sixty something person: All the beauty products, lotions, and potions in the world won’t help your skin if you spend too much time in the sun! A tan looks good in the moment, but not so much in the long term.
Kara says
I love British baking show too.. but this new season/judges/location change is throwing me off a little.. I think I miss the old style! Enjoy your last week!! 🙂
Jeanne says
I’m not sure why I feel so sad that your time in Nantucket is coming to an end:(
Your posts have made me feel like I was on vacation too!
Denise Thompson says
Thanks for sharing your summer!!! Your home is beautiful!!! You posted a recipe for a blueberry Bundt cake and now I can’t find it.. would you share again?? Thanks!!

You’ve got me wanting to try Colleen Rothschild products! Have you ever used Rodan and Fields? I’m curious how the two compare. I’ve used it for years and am nervous to change.
Mix and Match Mama says
I used to years ago and really liked it. Erika used to sell it, so I used it religiously for a long while.
Tina says
I do love it, but would also like to change things up sometimes. I think I will start with the cleansing balm and go from there. Thanks!
Susy says
Shucks!
Got all excited about a new season of The Great British Baking Show . . . . But no . . . . “You can expect weekly episodes coming to Netflix on the Friday after they air in the United Kingdom starting in September 2023.” Season 14 is in the can but not yet released!
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwwww! I’m still binging season 10, but maybe I’ll be caught up when they’re released!
Danielle says
I can’t believe your time on Nantucket is almost over – it feels like you just got there! Summer always flies by!

Hi! Love keeping up with your most amazing first summer in Nantucket! Do you have a quick itinerary for a four day visit with suggestions on where to stay, eat, etc! We just found out we are coming in town for Labor Day! I’m so excited and can’t wait to experience the gem of Cape Cod! Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t have a specific blog post with that information, but if you look back at my Nantucket posts, I have so many examples of us coming here for only three or four days (three from last year alone!). You’ll be able to see what we do/where we eat/stay/etc in those posts.
Alison says
Have the best time soaking up all the memories! We are back to school already, and I’m still trying to soak it all in. I had no idea they made Kids Zevia! I need to find this!!
Muskoka says
We really enjoy watching the GBBO in our house. You should also check out the Junior Bake Off. It’s quite entertaining and sometimes surprising to see kids baking. Some of them are really talented, while others might make funny mistakes. It’s both exciting and funny to watch, and we highly recommend it.
