Happy FRIDAY, friends!
I hope you had a wonderful week.
Last night, we had the first spring football scrimmage of the season and well, it felt a bit like fall in April…and I wasn’t hating it 🙂 .
Today, Mades and I are going to meet my parents for lunch, and I have fun plans with all three girls over the next two days (which does my mama heart a lot of good).
Here’s to hoping you have a nice weekend ahead of you too.
You know the drill, I’m linking up with my friends Andrea and Erika and sharing this week’s favorite things.
Starting with…

My camera roll on my iPhone just looks BRIGHT, HAPPY and SPRING-Y right now!
I snapped this pic as I was heading down to read in one of my chairs.
Seasonal magazines really are one of my favorite little pleasures in life.

I just can’t quit the pics. Everything is just extra beautiful this time of year…

…who knew I had such a soft spot for spring?

Another favorite of mine this week was one day when I was walking into the grocery store to get bacon and grapes and left with…

…a lamp. It was for sale on a shelf in my grocery store’s little “home” section, and I thought it was too cute.

I have been wanting to replace my lamp there for quite awhile…I love when you accidently find what you’re looking for at a random time.

Love.
Also in my kitchen…

…I pulled out my beautiful CARAWAY SAUTE PAN this week. For Christmas a few years ago, my mom gifted me some beautiful Caraway pieces for Nantucket which I love and use, but for some reason, the one item I have in McKinney, I keep tucked away because “it’s too pretty” to use every day. After seeing how easily we use the pieces on Nantucket last week, I came home and pulled this baby out…

…all of Caraway’s pieces come in a variety of colors (I have white with gold hardware), and you know what? It was extra lovely making my kids’ bacon this week in my pretty pan 🙂 .

I told Andrew that I was putting away the other pan and just leaving this one out to use. I caught him making his lunch in it too.

My little PSA that we should pull out our “prettys” and use them more often. THESE PANS really are fabulous! If you need a Mother’s Day or wedding gift, I can’t recommend them enough. The color options are so fun too!

New product alert from Colleen Rothschild…

… you always save 20% at Colleen Rothschild when you use code SHAY20!
I love when my favorite skincare brand launches new products! If you try it too, let me know what you think!!

Navy and white are ALWAYS favorites of mine and this week, I certainly rounded up some good options to take with me to Nantucket this summer…

THIS SKIRT, y’all! I LOVE it! It comes in five other colors, but the white was calling my name.

The eyelet is just so cute! Wearing it with my TANK and HEELS just to show you 🙂 .
I also bought this for Nantucket…

…this STRIPED TERRYCLOTH COVERUP…

Adorable! I am ready for the beach and the Sandbar Beach Restaurant right after.
Also…

…this EYELET DRESS just says wear me on Nantucket, right?

So cute with MY SANDALS.
And one last find…

…I saw THESE SHORTS and was so intrigued because they just looked comfy online…

…because of the waist! They come in several different washes (I bought medium indigo), and they are as easy to pull on and comfy as they look. #winning
For a size reference, I bought all four items in xs.

You guys know how tidy I am (um, just see this week’s Tidying Up Tuesday post). Well, I often like to use a little vacuum upstairs in my office just to get random crumbs or bits of paper or whatnot. I was tired of going to retrieve a bigger vacuum for a little bit of mess, so I bought myself…

…this little PORTABLE CORDLESS VACUUM 🙂 .

Look how tiny it is!

It’s perfect for my office, but it would be great for a car too. I pull it out every evening when I close up my office for the day, and it instantly makes me happy.

And finally…

…a friendly reminder that this weekend, you should make my CARROT & ZUCCHINI CUPCAKES because it’s SPRING!
Cheers to the weekend, y’all!
See you Sunday 🙂 . xx

Do you like the caraway pans better than Our Place?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think the Caraway is heavier/more sturdy. I also love the gold hardware too. I do though use my Our Place griddle pan at least once a week (if not more). That piece is absolutely my favorite.

So many cute things, but that little terrycloth cover up is darling.

A random question/maybe a blog post idea: what do you do to prepare when you’re going on a trip without your kids? What do you do ahead of time to make sure the people caring for your kids are well set-up before you leave?
Going on a 4 day trip without the kids for the first time in 12 years (!!) and want to make sure the grandparents have everything they need before we leave.

I have a post that covers it a bit! https://mixandmatchmama.com/2022/07/shays-ways-18-keys-to-prepping-for-a-trip/
I could absolutely do a second one as well!

Hi Shay, love your blog what store carries the pretty lamp that you just bought for your kitchen?
Mix and Match Mama says
My local grocery store! It’s called Market Street 🙂

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for/wanting for our lake house – I just didn’t know exactly what it was until you posted this. Ha. Thank you for the inso.

I grew up in one of those households where my mother wanted pots and pans hand washed not thrown in the dishwasher. Once I grew up and had my own home I have always put them in the dishwasher. Do you all hand wash these Caraway pans? I’m getting lazy in my old age and I don’t see me wanting to add to my list of things to do. They are so pretty – I want them.
Also as a tip to all your younger readers – if you are still using the same cookie sheets (baking sheets) you got when you first got married and they look terrible. (and they just do after years of use) Throw them in the trash and get new ones. It will make you so happy. Years ago I figured out if I replaced one or two every year it would make me a lot happier. Whether you buy expensive ones or inexpensive ones – for some reason I was just plodding along using the same ones forever. I’m a clean person and they were nasty looking.
Mix and Match Mama says
I hand wash them often because they really wash out easily, but I have absolutely also put them in the dishwasher from time to time too.

Oh, I need to do this with my cookie sheets! Do you or Shay recommend a brand for a good cookie sheet?
Mix and Match Mama says
I have some from All Clad that I really like! I bought them from Wayfair. That’s what I use for my muffin tins too!

I just had this conversation yesterday with my oldest daughter who got married two weeks ago. She was getting some lovely gifts at her bridal showers and I mentioned that our glassware was a discombobulated mishmash of glasses. Once you reach 25+ years of marriage, you should have another party to replace all of the random things that no longer match. I did purchase a new set of glasses and really should replace the baking sheets too.

Random question, do you still get your nails dipped? Or have you switched to something else?
Mix and Match Mama says
Still dip!
