What I Wore Wednesday


It’s been two months since I’ve linked up with The Pleated Poppy and done her What I Wore Wednesday (well, what I’m wearing on those rare occasions that I’m not in a swimsuit…).  You can always tell that it’s summer around here when the laundry consists of nothing but swimsuits and pajamas :).
Here you go…short and sweet…what I’ve been wearing lately…
Remember about a month ago when I told you that I just can’t stop wearing these Lush tops?  Well, the same can be said for the Lush maxi dresses too…
I bought my first Lush maxi dress last summer and then this one recently.  For under $40, they’re great summer dresses.  I even layered mine last year and wore it into the fall.  And of course, I love my Rayne necklace too (it goes with everything!).
These Lush maxi dresses come in fun prints and solids too :).
Love. This. Tank.  This top comes in both stripes and solids and I love, love, love, love it!  I bought my wedges at 40% off (and they still are!!).  They come in brown and black too.  They’re really comfy for a wedge.  Win, win!

And Loft has had a great selection of fun shorts this season!  These bright coral ones are my new go-to pair of shorts.  Throw on another necklace and a basic tee and I’m good to go!
And today, all shorts at Loft are only $25!!

I also have the yellow stripe and wore it on Sunday afternoon with a chambray shirt but forgot to snap a picture.  They’re really cute and comfy too!  I will snap pic next time :).
And because let’s face it…five out of seven days of the week, I’m wearing a cover-up and swimsuit, I thought I should include it here too.  Because this is truly what I’m wearing this Wednesday :).  My very favorite cover-up this season is this black sleeveless romper…
…and my Toms flip flops for pool days…

…and my beaded sandals for when I’m not in a swimsuit (but don’t want to wear wedges).
And just because this made me laugh (because it’s so true!)…

    I haven't seen you in that striped tank! It's so cute! And I'm still dying over those TOMS flip flops. I don't really need them since I have my colorful Reefs…but I REALLLLY want them!

    Is that Lush maxi dress sheer? I got the black and white one and ended up returning it because i would have had to wear something under it. 🙁

      Both of mine are darker and I don't think they're sheer. I don't wear anything underneath them (slips or whatnot).

    The Loft shorts look so much cuter in your picture than theirs! The stock photo makes the colors look really dull and I never would have thought I'd like them.

    I Am on a maxi dress kick now. Unfortunately even the small sizes are too long (as in up to my nose) so the hunt goes on. But I have lots of maxi skirts so I love making outfits with those. And I need to revamp my shorts wardrobe.

    How tall are you? Do you find the Lush maxi dresses to be really long? I'm only 5 feet tall so I have a hard time finding maxi dresses I don't have to get hemmed. 🙁

      I'm 5'3" and wear an XS. I'm not sure how it will run on you. With wedges, it might work??? I'm not sure though!

    Shay! What size in the Lush top do yo have? I just got the olive in XS and the side cutout is pretty high & exposing my waist area if i lift my arms. Im 5'5" though……Do you have this problem with yours? Im trying to decide if I need to switch for a S. Thanks!!

      Mine is sold out (boo) but I also have Hot Coral (because I just can't stop buying these silly tops!).

    I love the lush brand but everything is dry clean only. Do you wash it at home, or have it dry cleansed?

      Yes, I'm wondering too! Esp since I just wore my top for the first time & really pitted out- (I'm not even a big sweater!) this top does NOT absorb moisture

      has anyone tried to wash these? I cant go to the cleaners- but didnt realize this about the shirt before i bought it! anyone know what will happen!?

      I have several Lush tops and always machine wash them in a lingerie bag, they come out perfect just make sure to hang to dry 🙂

    I don't know if I should say thank you or I hate you for telling us about the Loft short sale. I just bought 5 pairs and then select tees are 3 for $30 so of course I had to get those, too! I would say they aren't all for me, but that would be a lie. 😉

    Hi Shay! Love this post! Would you say the Stem top runs true to size? And how about your Sam Edelman wedges? I have the SE Felicia flat in a 6.5 and the Gigi sandal in a 7.5…(I typically wear a 7)…so I'm wondering how the wedge fits. Thanks! 🙂

      Hi Kylie! The Stem tops do run true to size. I bought XS which I think is pretty typical. As for the wedges, I also bought true to size…I typically wear 8s and these are also 8s. Hope this helps :).
