Annnnnnnnnnnd…I’m ready for summer now.
Sigh.
You guys, I’ve shared myself with you now for almost 19 years…you saw this coming.
I am typing this sentence on our flight home from Orlando. This morning, we disembarked from our three night cruise (more on that to come), and I’ve officially reached that point in the year when I don’t want to make lunches, set alarms, carpool to school or do anything besides dive into summer.
I know, I know, I know…it happens to me every year.
Ironically by August 1st, I’ll be excited for the first day of school, dreaming of pumpkins and buying sweaters.
It’s just who I am.
Today, I am sharing TWO TRAVEL POSTS FOR YOUR TUESDAY!
First up, I have another recap from our amazing trip to Japan! You can catch this day where we explore SHIBUYA + GOLDEN GAI as well as this little travel post below too. When we returned from Japan, I shared our TRAVEL ITEMS FROM JAPAN and you ladies seemed to like that post a lot, so today, I have our TRAVEL ITEMS FROM OUR CRUISE.
Because I don’t know about you, but I like seeing the random things people pack.
Here we go…

I shared this earlier, but I love my new CARRY ON LUGGAGE so much that I bought Kensington a set too. And after this trip, I’m buying it for Ashby as well (and probably Mades…).
We all carried on this time plus we brought one checked bag for items that we couldn’t carry on (big sunscreen bottles, etc), and this carry on is just too good. We had more than enough room.
I have one entire post on this luggage if you need specifics and photos 🙂 .
I love love my ELTA SUNSCREEN and wear it every day but this time of year…

…coming out of winter, I need a little extra oomph in my daily SPF, so I wore my GLOW SCREEN. I wear both sunscreens every day over my moisturizer and under my foundation. I use it as my makeup primer.

For my brows 🙂 . It adds color and keeps them in place. #winwin

I switched up my mascara at the beginning of the year and started using THIS ONE based on the reviews. I very very much have been loving it!

LANEIGE, of course!

I have LOVED MY BEACH BAG! There is a zippered pocket on the inside and tons of pockets all around the outside. It was the perfect bag for the beach and only $15!

ROMPER + BEACH BAG FOR THE WIN!

I’ve mentioned this many many times before, but we love bringing our own cups on cruises. We added these to our checked bag (because they can get heavy), but we use them every day on board.

Another trip, another big baggie of protein bars. I legit just ate one on board this flight 😉 .
Speaking of snacks…

…we brought a big bag of pretzels in our checked bag too. Even though cruise ships have plenty of food, sometimes it’s nice to come back to your cabin after a full day and have a little snack ready and waiting. Our family loves pretzels, so it was an easy thing to toss in our suitcase and have on hand.

Wrinkle releaser is another great addition to your checked bag! This Downy version in particular is fantastic. Pull your clothes out, give it a spray, hang it up, wrinkles go away.

I love my LINED WORKOUT SHORTS! I wore them to the gym on board the ship.

We almost always travel with a deck of cards. We pulled these out at the beach and on board the ship. They are fun at an airport too. You just can’t go wrong with a deck of cards.

YES, YES, YES! ‘Tis sandals season. This FOOT CREAM will absolutely change the condition of your dry, cracked heels.

It wouldn’t be a tropical vacation without my FAVORITE BEACH HAT. This was the THIRD cruise I’ve taken this hat on (as well as many other land vacations). It’s the best deal on the internet. No matter how many times I shove it into my suitcase, it pops up looking great every time. I brought MY SANDALS too 🙂 .

I bought THIS DRESS at Old Navy, and it’s only $15 but you would NEVER know! It comes in many different colors and prints, regular, petite and tall, sizes XS to 4X…and the quality is really good. I am absolutely taking this one to Nantucket this summer because I know I’ll wear it on repeat. I love that it’s not fitted…you have room in this one. For a size reference, I bought it in XS regular (not petite). And MY WEDGES are cute too 🙂 .

COVER UP + BEACH BAG + FLIP FLOPS for the day!

I have shared OUR FAVORITE SUNSCREEN many many many times over the years. Still love it!

And on the last night, my LUXLETIC DRESSE and MY HEELS!
And those are I shared our TRAVEL ITEMS FROM OUR CRUISE. Today, I also have a post from our trip to Japan when we explored SHIBUYA + GOLDEN GAI.
More details about our cruise to come, but in the meantime, don’t forget, I also have my FIRST TIMER’S GUIDE TO CRUISING should you be going soon too.
Have the best Tuesday, friends! I’ll see you tomorrow 🙂 .

Love the luggage!!

Looks like a fabulous get-a-way! This is probably an odd question but could you do a little video (or just explain) how you put your hair into a ponytail? I like how you have a little “poof”at the top. It looks more polished and fun!
Mix and Match Mama says
I can certainly try. You know how it goes though…when you “try” to do your hair, it never looks nearly as good as when you throw it to wash your face right before bed. Why does THAT HAIR always look the best?!

Truth!!

I’m intrigued about the downy wrinkle release…I’ve often wondered if it really works. Now that it’s Shay approved, I’ll have to give it a go! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, YES! It absolutely works! I’ve mentioned this many times before, but I do not ever ever iron or steam. I am lazy. That’s my only excuse. This spray is magic!
Katie Compton says
I have used this spray for years! So much so, that while staying with my parents years ago, my mom brings out an iron and my daughter (who was around 4 or 5) looks with wonder and says “Nanny… what is THAT?!?” 🤣
They make a travel size that I refill for each trip!

What happened to tom and Sherri’s?
Mix and Match Mama says
Our dear, dear friend who started Tom and Sherri’s passed away in 2023. He was only 38.

You might answer this when you do your cruise post, but your cabin looks so spacious. I’ve only been on one cruise and our room definitely wasn’t that big. Lol. We had a balcony, which was nice, but I am really curious about those larger cabins. Are you getting ones that fit all 6 of you? Or do you get more than one? I’m trying to decide if a cruise is a good option for my blended family of 6, and would love to know more about spaces that can accommodate that size. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s one great thing about a cruise…there are so many options! We have done it a variety of ways. This time, we had two cabins. Last time, we had a cabin for six.
JULIE BARBER says
What rooms do you get?
Mix and Match Mama says
We had two suites side by side.

Hi Shay-
Love this post! Okay, I got the Béis luggage and I’m afraid of the lock-lol! I’ve watched a tutorial but do you have any advice? Is it easy to change the combo and/or do I have to do this??
Any tips you have are appreciated, especially as I may be sending this set off with my college age kids and you KNOW they won’t remember the code…
Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s so so easy! I’ve easily done it on both of mine. I went to their website and followed the directions. Let me know if you have any questions!
Katie Compton says
Jumping back here to let you know I tried a new Barebells flavor that blew my mind! Coco Caramel Almond!! I found it at my local grocery store. Highly recommend!!
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t seen that one yet! I will be on the lookout. THANK YOU!!
