Happy Thursday!
Here’s a little look into our life lately…
I took this picture and posted it on Instagram last week. Ashby and I were visiting her ENT for an appointment in the same building where I used to go for my infertility treatments. It was one of those full circle moments when I thought back to that time in my life and how discouraged I felt…and then fast-forward nine years and I’m back with my awesome daughter…who just happens to be from China. Life is just so much fun (and crazy!) and God is GOOD!
Well, typically when the Slaughter boys come over, the three of them play, play, play…on this day though, they read about sharks :).
And then the next day, Smith built a paper shark out of a book we bought at his school’s book fair while the girls…
…danced to Taylor Swift.
On Earth day, I told the kids to pick out outfits that matched the Earth. This is what they came up with, and I was super impressed!
Friday night, walking to dinner. One kid had a pajama party and the other a baseball game. I just love this little quirky time in our lives.
After moving Uncle Seanie and Aunt Catherine on Saturday, we rewarded ourselves with Mexican food and gourmet popsicles. Yes.
So, I let the big kids do their own hair for church on Sunday…and somehow, Smith gave himself bangs. What the heck?! I laughed about this all morning. These kids.
Sunday afternoon.
When you bike all the way to Starbucks, you reward yourselves with cake pops, right?!
Heading out. Too bad she’s not cute.
You know you’re a boy mom when you walk by the window and see this…
Eating banana pudding in bed while reading People and watching the Sox. This is what I call heaven.
Monday morning vibes.
I was checking out at the grocery store and Ashby was “reading” a cooking magazine like Kensington does :).
On Tuesdays, I volunteer in Kensington’s class. Here is she is her “office”.
And here we are taking a quick selfie :). I love seeing my girl during the day at school!
Whew! So, that’s life lately around here!!
Check out my foodie blog today because I’m sharing some of my favorite things EVER…
…Breakfast Casseroles! Do you ever make a breakfast casserole for dinner? They’re not just for breakfast :). See all of the yummy recipes here.

I loved the little army men on the blinds! Being a boy mom is so fun. What kind of plant is that in your big planters on the porch?

I love Kensington's office, I think I need one too;) And Smith's army man decor is spot on! Love these little glimpses into your family, these years are precious!

So many pics to love, but Kensington's jacket buttoned up to her throat made me spit out my coffee. Ella has done the same thing on more than one occasion. I get that it's the sky, but soooooo awkward!

My six-year old son just brought home a shark book from his school's book fair this week. It's now the preferred bedtime story at my house….It must be the "it" topic for that age range.

I love seeing Smith's army men on your blinds!! My baby boy is almost 20 and I remember for several years his army men would take over our nativity scene at Christmas. I asked him what they were doing and he said guarding baby Jesus….duh!! Such sweet memories!

Thank you for sharing your "life lately". Kensington is wearing super cute sandals in your Sunday church picture. My daughter is six and LOVES these kind of sandals, yet her foot is very narrow and we have had a very hard time finding sandals that fit properly. These look like they may work though. Where are they from? THANK YOU! Debbie

Such a sweet post and beautiful babies you have! I have been looking for a fireplace cover (i.e., Mother's Day gift) and spotted the one in one of the pictures above and love it! Do you recall where you got it and know if still available? Thanks. I stumbled upon your blog and now am a loyalist!

Can I just say how precious it is to see Smith so invested and concentrated when he "plays" with his toys. The picture of him hard at work on his little Shark craft melts my heart. He always seems so determined and purposeful when he plays. What a special trait to have that will definitely get him far in life!
