Happy Friday friends!
Every Friday, I link up with my friends Erika, Andrea and Narci and share my favorite things from the week. It’s always just a random assortment of things I jot down as the week goes by. Here’s hoping you have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!
xo
Okay, I did another Blogilates workout on YouTube and loved it so much that I’ve done it three times this week! My favorite part? It’s only 10 minutes. Now, this workout is just stretching…so, it’s not a complete workout, but it’s been great to do at the end of my other workouts. Side note: how fabulous is her rug?!
Annnnd…if you missed Monday’s post…
…where I talk about how I stay active, you can see it HERE.
Here are some other YouTube workouts I’ve done recently…
Blogilates Total Body Stretch
Blogilates Abs, Butt and Thighs
Fitness Blender No Equipment Upper Body Workout with Cardio Kickboxing Intervals
Yoga By Candace’s Power Yoga
Fitness Blender Cardio & Total Body Workout
Blogilates Total Body Pilates
Well, Madeley is officially a Shull kid…
…because I bought her a pair of Natives 🙂 .
But…that’s not my favorite for the week…my favorite is that SHE CAN PUT THEM ON HERSELF.
And all the mamas said amen.
I didn’t even intend on her being able to put them on herself…but she just did and I was FLOORED. Because, hello? I kind of baby her and didn’t expect that. So, now, she’ll be wearing only Natives between now and forever because she’s so stinkin’ proud that she can put them on herself 🙂 .
If you’ve read my blog for any period of time, you know that basically my kids live in these shoes the majority of the year. They go in water, mud, grass, slip on and off, are easily hosed off, don’t cause blisters and my two year old can put them on herself…so, they’re basically perfect. And Ashby’s gold shoes? They’re Mini Melissa’s! (Like the Minnie Mouse ones she wears all the time.) Love those too!
Wow! If you missed my post on Tuesday, I asked for help/comments/suggestions for when you have sitters come to your house. Girls, I was OVERWHELMED by the response! I mean…the tips, the ideas, the suggestions, the creativity, the order…everything I love so much wrapped into all of your comments. THANK YOU! If you missed it, click HERE and read through the comments. There is so much amazing material there!
The name of the game right now around North Texas is transitional weather. One day, it’s 45 and the next, it’s 80. Sigh.
So, I’ve been trying to dress in layers and/or very transitional these days. One of my favorite things? Those booties I bought in September that I wore all fall? Well, I’m wearing them again right now and bonus, they’re 40% off to boot!
I wore a light jacket over my sleeveless top and then just took it off later in the day when things heated up.
Look at my sweet girl smiling :).
I’m wearing transitional pieces now…and then I’m going to blink and I’ll be in full-blown summer stuff. #wheredidwintergo
And you have to make these this weekend! We had them for breakfast but they would totally work for appetizers too…
You’re welcome.
Happy Friday friends!

Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams says
Aw yay for Madeley for being able to put the Natives on by herself! I need to try the stretching video, I’m hooked on Blogilates now too! Love those booties, perfect for the crazy weather. Have a great weekend 🙂

Erika Slaughter says
Madeley should be wearing those shoes every single day! I’m pretty sure there was a week of cold and Bowen had to wear tennis shoes. Other than that-Natives all the time!
ELizabeth says
So many fun favorites this week! Loved reading the active post.

Seriously … we need a new closet tour. I see a rolling ladder!!!!! *squeal*
Abbey says
I agree!! Can’t wait to see it! Looks amazing!
Emma @ from my little pink couch says
Holy cow … just did Blogilates arm workout! Thought I was gonna cry … ???
Donna says
It’s totally a game changer when kids can put shoes on by themselves! That’s a new trick my oldest picked up on this week also…makes going on the door so much easier!
Deanna Zehr says
I love Blogilates too! She has such a fun way about her that I {almost} forget I’m working out. ? Have a great weekend!

Those booties of yours are a favorite of mine as well! I have bootie envy every single time I see you in them. 😉
Sarah says
Oooo I love that tank!! I totally love tanks like that for work and running errands!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!! We plan on spending it outside!

Loren says
I second the closet tour and we just ordered the boys new natives for this summer!! LOVE
Stacy says
May I ask if your rugs in your closet are matching? Dumb question, I know, but I love the look of them and couldn’t tell from the pics. And Madely is too cute!
Mix and Match Mama says
They are!
Jess says
Can you share your nail color? So springy! I tried those booties but my toes must be short or something! Nothing was peepin out! lol…
Mix and Match Mama says
Essie’s Fiji 🙂
Kelly says
Can you tell me where you got your rug in your closet? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Online! It’s from Chip and Joanna Gaines’ collection.
Kelly says
Thank you!
Emily says
I love Blogilates! And agree – it’s magical when your child can put their own shoes on. I swore I would never let my kids wear crocs until I was pregnant and had a toddler. It was just so much easier than trying to bend over and get her shoes on. Love your booties and grey top! Adorable!
Lizzie @ This Happy Life says
My 2 year old shocked me a couple months ago as well when she started putting her shoes on herself!! I was like woah, this is crazy, ha ha. Can I ask what size you’re wearing in that great sweater? The weather is so crazy lately that layers are a must!
Mix and Match Mama says
Xsmall!
Lane says
Hi Shay! Have you ever followed Blogilates workout calendar? I have been trying it this week and am just not sure it is enough cardio if I only do the workouts she suggests each day.
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t! I didn’t even know she had one!
Lane says
Thank you! Yes she posts a new calendar each month with about 5 videos each day. It is free on her site and I think 99 cents a month on her app. 🙂
Lynn says
Love your Friday favorites!! I have a good question for you, do you eat mostly gluetin free? I saw some things that said gluetin free! Just curious what you think of gf foods!
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not because we do not have anyone with a gluten intolerance in our family. That being said, some things, like the oatmeal, just taste better and we enjoy the consistency more from that brand which happens to be g-free.
Jennifer says
Shay I love the transition pieces!!! Those jeans are on point!! Do you mind me asking what size you got?! I think I’m going to take a leap and order both!! They look so cute on you!!
Mix and Match Mama says
26 in both!
Heather McCaskill says
I so wish my daughter loved Natives. I have bought two pair and she says they make her feet sweat so she won’t wear them.
Lori says
Are you going to post about your new closet? It looks amazing.
Kelly says
I thought the same thing!!! Please say yes lol
Debbie K. says
I love your hair parted to the side in the first picture showing your booties. It looks so full …hair envy over here! And I’m going to have to try the pilates. I usually get 14,000-15,000 steps a day, but my joints are so stiff. Old lady syndrome is setting in here!
Mary Elizabeth says
Do natives run true to size for the kids? I think it’s finally time to order some for my little guy. Have you ever tried crocs on them?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! True to size! And yes, I have tried Crocs with K and Smith…but I think we all like Natives better.
Maria says
I was just about to ask the true to size question! Thank you! I am planning on orderinging some for my boys in the next couple of days after I try the look-a-likes at target first! Has anyone tried them?
❤?
Kathy Boyce says
Hi Shay! Did you feel your sleeveless top was true to size or did you order a size smaller?
Mix and Match Mama says
With Loft tops, I almost always order xsmall. I find that true to size and consistent throughout Loft.
Angela Ellingson says
Love the workout suggestions! And how cute are those little feet?! *High five* for toddlers who can put on their own shoes!
Lora says
I finally have to ask.. is there a reason that your closet/outfit shots are always at an angle? There are so many interesting things to see in the photo… your hair, top, shoes, closet, kiddos, etc. Having to tilt my head just to see it all makes me dizzy after a while 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I guess I just like it that way :).
Chrystianne says
Oh Shay, girl, I think we need a little closet tour. Today’s pictures definitely confirmed that. It looks totally magical in there!
Karen says
Just new floors? It looks like you have an entirely new closet! Beautiful – please do a post on your new closet!
Amanda says
That rug was the first thing my eyes fixated on!! I’ve been looking for one similar ever since Narci got her new on in her dining room that I’m drooling over. I found a few on Rugs USA that I love. And I just got those booties in yesterday in black and brown because I couldn’t decide which ones I wanted and I kept them both because they were so comfortable!! I woke up this morning and realized I had meant to post them in my Friday Favorites but had forgotten and even went back in to add them. They are so comfortable!
Alexis deZayas says
Loving both of those outfits!!
Brittany Hensley says
We are big Mini Melissa fans in the Hensley house. Nataleigh loves the way they smell, and so do i! Can we talk about your amazing closet though!? #closetenvy #fosho
Laci says
The rugs are beautiful!!
Stephanie says
Please, please, please do a tour of your closet. My hubby and I are about to renovate the master closet in our home, and I can’t decide which direction to go.
Ariadna says
I second (or third, fifth, whatever!) the closet tour, it looks fabulous!! I understand if you want to keep some privacy but it really looks amazing from the glimpses we see! And I showed my husband the natives for our daughter and he didn’t like them. Since he supposedly he’s the sneakerhead in the family I got vetoed when my daughter agreed with him. 🙁
Chelsey Boren says
1) you’re the reason my kids wear natives! I absolutely love them!! (Target makes some now that look identical but I haven’t bought any)
2) I agree with the others we need a closet tour! Is that a drawer with see through top for you wallets?? LOVE!!
Megan says
I have noticed that lots of companies are making off-brand natives this year but my kids said no way. Only the Native brand are up to their comfort standards.

Ashley says
Can you PLEEEASE give us a tour of the new closet? It looks amazing!!
*And all the women said AMEN!*
Jennifer says
Can you please do a tour of that closet, my goodness you have the best taste!
Erin Port says
Um your closet though – beautiful!!!! And we love natives too especially for little people, no stubbed toes!
Carly M says
Madeley is too cute holding on your dresser…also Ashby and those amazing plaid leggings…love
LOVE Blogilates. I can’t decide if I like her workout calendar though. You should give it a try! Have a good weekend!
Elsjebe Mostert says
I loves the transition outfit.
I want to ask if you could do a Friday favorites on your best cookware. Cooking and baking so much you must have standout favorites?
Meg says
I agree ??
Hannah says
So curious about the ladder and gorgeous white cabinet/chest/dresser in your closet!!!
Megan Butler says
Loooove Madeley’s new natives!!! Precious. And they are the best!!
Natalie says
Thanks for keeping a list of all the You Tube workouts you are doing! I love trying the new ones you add, and love the nice organized list in one spot! 🙂
Jenny says
I would love a closet tour too. I was actually contemplating asking if you would consider sharing the floor plan of it! We are in the midst of designing house plans and a functional closet is high on my list of priorities. I’m happy to send my email if you’d rather not post online but would consider sharing privately. Thanks!!!
Kelly says
Side part looks awesome!
JAmie says
Love the workout suggestions! Just did the Abs, Butt, and Thighs. hope I can walk tomorrow ! Just loved it! She’s fun and I really feel like her body is realistic- not something unachievable. And, just so you know, Erika is doing an awesome job planning our upcoming Disney trip/cruise. She is so helpful and sweet! Thanks to both of you for running an awesome business!
Reese says
Shay I just watched the movie Lion and it was amazing! I thought if you – you and Andrew should definitely check it out. Xoxo
Southern & Style says
I love that you love the Blogilates workouts too! Those are my favorite, she is so motivating and they’re honestly fun! Put together a couple of the ten minutes ones and you’ll really feel the burn-she kills it!
