For as long as I’ve been blogging, I’ve been posting pics of my house decorated for fall and then again for Christmas…because it just makes me HAPPY! These are my favorite posts to read on other blogs, so I always include them here too. I mean…let’s be honest, the decorations don’t change much from year to year, so it is a wee bit repetitive, but it still makes me HAPPY every single time, so today, I’m doing it again. I’ve been collecting fall decorations for 14 years now, so many of these pieces are old, but if it’s something new or something I know is still in stock, I’ll mention. If not, sit back, relax and welcome to the Shull’s house…
I am obsessed with pumpkins that have big stems. And Andrew came home with these babies the other day and I was FLOORED! How pretty are those stems? My stone pumpkins are from a place in Joplin, MO called Sandstone Gardens.
We light candles inside them at night when guests are over and they’re so pretty all lit up!
These cuties welcome you as you come inside the door. They make me happy.
Hi, my name is Shay and I buy too many pillows. All of the fall pillows are from Pottery Barn. (And PS: the lighting is never good at this window.)
I use a strand of Christmas lights to make my mercury pumpkin glow.
The pumpkin on the hearth is from Hobby Lobby. I bought him years ago, but they still sell them there today.
I love using battery operated candles in places like this! You get the glow without the fire hazard.
I bought this pumpkin this year off of Pottery Barn Kids’ site. There’s one of those battery operated candles in him too.
This pillow is from this year. He makes me smile.
This is one of those signs my friend Amanda makes! You can see her Etsy store HERE.
We love collecting the little spook houses (and Christmas houses too).
My friend Lori makes these plates here locally (she does not ship). You go to her house and pick your plate and design and then she stamps your kids’ feet and/or hands. After that, she works her magic and creates a beautiful plate. This was one of my very first ones. They are probably my FAVORITE things in my house!
Every year, Pottery Barn Kids introduces four new Halloween plates for kids…as you can see, we have quite the collection!
My four little turkeys.
These candles are so good! And this is our newest little spook house 🙂 .
Ha! As I was walking around taking pics of the house, this sweet guy showed up unexpectedly with a Pumpkin Spice Latte…because after 13 years of marriage he knows EXACTLY how to get to my heart.
I mean…we’re cheesy sometimes, but that’s okay 🙂 .
We’re all drinking tea over here these days (my kids picked up the habit this past winter when I did too), so we have tea cups (they could be coffee mugs, but we use them for tea) with our initials on them.
And Amanda did this sign too 🙂 .
Andrew’s mom had this skeleton hanging in their house growing up, and when we got married, she passed him down to us. He comes out every Halloween.
A pumpkin in my office too!
I bought these polka dot pumpkins at Hobby Lobby this year for the little girls’ closet.
Smith thinks this pillow is hysterical.
And one last pumpkin for our post.
Wishing you a warm and cozy fall from my home to yours!
And don’t forget, if you didn’t enter to win my $500 Norsdtrom Giveaway yesterday, you can do so HERE.

Weird question – do you go around the house and turn on all the little lights each day, or only when you have company? Or maybe get the kids to help? That’s always my dilemma. I love all the lights, but I get lazy about turning all of them on every day…

LOVE Fall decorations! They make me happy, too!
What do you do in the weeks between Halloween and Thanksgiving, when the jack-o-lanters and spooky houses aren’t applicable anymore, but it’s not quite time for Christmas decor? I never know what to do and usually just end up skipping over Halloween decor altogether so I can leave it all up longer. (Because I’m all about maximum decoration enjoyment with the least amount of work haha!)

Looking through your great blog, and I just love the plates with the hand and feet prints. I was wondering if you could share the contact information for your friend that makes them. I think this is such a fabulous idea, and would love to do one as a gift.

Thanks so much

I love your decorations! I need to see a post on how you store all your holiday decorations. That is my big barrier to entry – everything is in tubs in the basement taking up a lot of space and the next holiday is packed behind everything else. Do you have a system to keep this organized? #Itsstillfourthofjulyinmyhouse #decorfail
Mix and Match Mama says
I just put everything in bins in my attic. It’s not a fancy system ;).
Rebecca says
3 questions, I know, I am sorry.
1. What are your top 2 fav candles from B&BW?
2. Do your lamps match if they are in the same room for example the living room ?
3. This might be a silly question, do you store your monogram mugs or holiday platters in the attic as well or do you keep those stored in your kitchen cabinets throughout the year ?
Mix and Match Mama says
You’re fine!! I love Leaves and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin the most. No, they do not match. I keep those things in cabinets that are way up high (you know, the ones you don’t use because they’re hard to reach). 🙂
Rebecca says
Thank You! You’re a real person that answers!! ?. I really appreciate it!
