Happy Monday, friends!
My kiddos are off this week, and we’re doing a whole lot of not that much (which sounds pretty delightful!). Here are a few pics of what we’ve been up to lately. Don’t forget, What’s Up Wednesday is THIS week and if you don’t know what to make for Thanksgiving, have no fear…just click HERE. Also, I’ve never done this before, but I have been making a list all year long of my favorite things to give (and to receive), and I’m sharing all of that THIS FRIDAY! So, lots of fun this week 🙂 .
We clearly take Christmas decorating seriously. Blanket, check. Sheets, check. Robe, check. And they’re both wearing Christmas pjs too, CHECK!
Bowen had his tonsils removed, Ashby had a vascular procedure…but they were both back in action on Monday. Reunited and it feels so good!
When the American Girl catalog arrives and you have three daughters.
I told her to get her shoes on so we could get hot chocolate from Starbucks after dinner, and she came around the corner like this. Dang, I love this kid!
She’s showing me where baby Jesus is. We bought this Little People nativity for Kensington and three kids later, it’s still a favorite!
Madeley wanted Kensington to give her a bath on this night and when they came back downstairs, she had on K’s pj shirt. Hahaha! K had a rubber band tying it back behind her, but she was so proud to be wearing it to bed.
First, we had Ashby’s Thanksgiving break-feast at school…
…isn’t she so sweet?!?! I had to cut her shirt so that she could wear it to school while also wearing her soft cast (it had a turkey on the front), but it was worth it because it made her so happy!
And then, we had this little turkey’s Thanksgiving party too!
She loved every minute of it!
One at a time, they made their way into our room on this night. (Smith is on the other side of Ashby.) One by one, they got in. Sigh. I try and enjoy it because I know it won’t last forever.
Making Christmas cookies with my girlies on a Friday. We were making this recipe. We love our “stay in our pajamas as long as we can” Fridays!
That’s it for today! See you tomorrow!!

So cute! My kids and I were just discussing what Madeley would have been like if she had still been in an orphanage, especially since she’s such a smiley little girl. How precious that she was rescued and found her forever family! Adoption is costly in many ways, but what an incredible gift to the children who get to come home.

Just wanted to say that all 4 of your children are absolutely beautiful! And your Madeley is just adorable! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family! Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the bed head look on your girls. It’s cute for them, but for me, as an adult, it looks like I was electrocuted! Enjoy and cherish the time together…

I had to wear a cast for a while in college after a wrist surgery. I remember “cutting” several sleeves so I could wear them. Really, I think my mom got a seam ripper and opened the seam and then we were able to sew it back after I was done with the cast.
Also, I went to NYC for Christmas that year and couldn’t wear a glove, but my fingers were cold. So we fashioned a mitten for that hand with a toboggan hat.

Love the pic of Ashby and Bowen! Their friendship is so sweet. I also love love the pic of Madeley ready for a walk to Starbucks! Your Christmas sheets and quilt are darling and so cozy! Smart and fun to use them in November, too! Did Kensington, Smith and Ashby all go to bed in their own beds and then come get into your bed after awakening later on? Did you and Andrew move them back to their own beds, squeeze in with them or go sleep in their beds??
Mix and Match Mama says
They all came in one at a time during the night. Andrew and I just moved over and made room 🙂 .
Meagan Smith says
Love their turkey shirts! Have the best turkey day! I will definitely be busting out your pecan and pumpkin pie recipes again! 🙂

What a great post! Let me tell you I am 25 and I still get American Girl catalogs. I still look through them as soon as I get them. Then I tell my parents they are lucky I am older and that my list no longer comes out of there because everything is so darn cute, I would want it all!
Nancy says
the photo of you, Andrew and Ashby is so sweet! You should frame that one!

Love these sweet random pictures! All of your kids are just precious and happy…it shows!! The picture of your kids in your bed tugged at my heart. One of my daughters got married a week ago (built a home across the road from me, so she is still close) and went to Colorado for a week on her honeymoon. When they got back late Thursday evening her new husband decided to go hunting with her daddy at 3:30 am the next morning and she came with him…. and crawled in my bed. So see, it can last;)
