It’s Friday, friends 🙂 .
Here’s hoping you have a weekend filled with holiday cheer. Sending you so much love from my family to yours.
Until Monday, here’s a peek at life lately…
On Wednesdays, we often eat lunch with Andrew. The three bigs are at school, and this one gets us all to herself.
Kensington had a performance at a tree lighting ceremony last Thursday. Can someone please tell me where my baby went? Seriously, I’m looking for her.
Tab and Andrew were going to the Cowboys game on this night and Erika and I thought it would be so much fun to take all eight kids to this performance…and then about an hour before, we realized that was the dumbest idea ever. Hahahahaha! All of a sudden, we were like “that sounds like zero fun!”, so we got sitters and had dinner with just the big girls before they danced. It was such a special night!
When your accessories are on point.
Last Friday, we had dinner and looked at the lights in Highland Park. Looooove this family of mine!
It was December 1, so we pulled out our Advent calendar and corresponding book.
My two big kids spend more time upside down than right side up.
Sweet girl. She was in pain and wanted to lay down on my office floor…and then, she was asleep. It’s hard being Ashby some days, friends.
My three sisters 🙂 .
Madeley is really into the elf this year! It’s so much fun to watch her discover Christmas!!
Frenchie and Ashby were having morning snuggles and kisses.
My scarf for the win this Christmas season 🙂 .
All. Day. Long.
Both of them. I look forward to their future careers in Cirque du Soleil.
Six Shulls and one puppy watching Home Alone 2 on the couch. Poppy was chewing Frenchie’s bone under Andrew’s feet (finder’s keepers). We might need a bigger couch…
Happy Friday! Sending you so much love this weekend! xo

This post has ALL the fun going on! And yes! Where did your baby go?? So grown up and gorgeous- I couldn’t believe how much Ebby Lee looks like a clone of her mother in that pic! Sending up a little prayer for your dear little Ashby. And your scarf = Christmas perfection! Happy weekend to the Shulls
Lizzie @ This Happy Life says
So much fun and I totally giggled at you and Erika realizing it was dumb to take all 8 kids! I do stuff like that all the time! also – question, do your bigs still “believe”?

I have a random question. Do you still organize and store your jewelry in plastic baggies and compartment boxes? Trying to get rid of the large standing jewelry armoire that I have, but not sure how/where to store my mounds of jewelry!
Mix and Match Mama says
I don’t now that we’ve moved here (I have more room), but for years that was the only way I did it!
Meg says
I’d love to see how you do it now ?
Shelby Hennigar says
We ordered the same Advent calender and we are loving it! My kids take turns each night reading and hanging the ornaments on the tree! Where did you get that blanket that Ashby is snuggled under in your office?
Mix and Match Mama says
Target a few years ago :).
Britt Hensley says
My little one recently started tumbling class, and I feel as though I’m constantly telling her to stop flipping. All. The. Time!

I love all of the pics!!! And I’m hoping to purchase a big ottoman, like the one you have! I’m looking at Restoration Hardware’s leather ottoman, but wondered…where is yours from? We’re thinking of a big leather couch set…can you share your thoughts? Any furniture recommendations? Thanks Shay!! 🙂

Lots of practice 🙂 .

It’s a wonderful life lately, Shulls! Enjoy this special season with your sweet family. And, yes, you probably will need a bigger sofa:).
Brandye says
Your family is so sweet. I didn’t have a name for it, but we always did cocoa and Christmas lights in our pjs when my kids were little.
I’m afraid I am one who is faking it this Christmas. My precious mother-in-law passed July 9. Now BOTH of my parents have failing health (my mother has dementia, which has worsened exponentially this fall). I haven’t even put up my tree yet. Hopefully that will happen this weekend. #goals I am starting a Cultivate What Matters journal (JOY). Praying that will help. I’m such a mess. My poor husband can’t even mourn his mother for my parents’ drama, or my children their Granny. The snow last night had me in tears. Tears…over snow. Prayers are so very much appreciated right now. (Yes, I have a wonderful church family and great friends. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. I don’t want to be a burden.) I will say that your blog with your adorable family is a little light to me every morning!
Tina says
I’m so sorry for everything you are going through. May you find some holiday peace.
Michelle says
I’m so sorry! In a similar situation. Holidays can be extra hard sometimes, prayers and hugs to you!

Why do Kensington and Ebby Lee look like gorgeous little teenagers in that dance picture!?! These kids need to stop growing so fast!! And Ashby on your office floor just hurts my heart. Sweet girl. That Inspired Chick

Any chance you will write a post about training your puppy? I’d love to know since we may get one in the new year!

It hurts my mama heart that Ashby has to deal with so much pain so it must really hurt your heart as her mama. Continued prayers for her hand and arm to improve!

So many fun pictures! Kennsington and Ebey Lee look so darling in their blue costumes! What a fun night the four of you must have had and sooo special for the big girls! Ashby on your office floor because she was in pain just breaks my heart for that sweet, brave, kind little girl. I’m so glad you and Andrew are her parents and that her sibs, grandparents, Sean, Catherine and Sammuel and all of your close friends cherish her. I’m also so happy for Ashby that she loves Frenchie and he appears to be a sweet, gentle puppy. I recall how terrified of Poppy she was when she first came home to your family, even though I’ve always thought that Poppy was a sweet, gentle dog, too.❤️???❤️

Shay, I saw this on Facebook ads (they just know me ;)) and I felt like it was something maybe you needed to have too!

Oh sweet Ashby. That pic made my heart hurt. Love all of the upside down action- lol. We have a lot of tipping in chairs here at this house. Tipping backwards, tipping to the side, chair falls down, chair breaks, kid falls, kid is hurt. Fun times. 🙂

Hi Shay! I love your blog so much, I read it every morning to add some love and sunshine to my day. I came across this video and immediately thought of you and Erika and just wanted to share. It’s about a girl who was adopted from China who was reunited with her birth parents for a meeting after 20 years.

Have you considered signing the two bigs up for gymnastic or tumbling classes? I am partial to Cheer Athletics out of Plano, they’d love it! Just a thought 😉
