Merry Cherry Mules
‘Tis the season for a festive drink! Every year, I try and think of some sort of holiday go-to drink and this year, I gave one of my faves a holiday twist…my Merry Cherry Mules are not only delicious, they’re simple too! This recipe makes one mule, but is really easy to multiply out and make in a pitcher as well. If you’re looking for some of my other holiday drink recipes, here you go:
And then for today’s drink, just follow the directions below. Happy Wednesday, friends!
This makes one mule.
Shopping List
4 oz ginger beer (not diet)
3 oz vodka
2 oz grenadine
half a lime
maraschino cherries to garnish
lots of ice
If you can, buy and freeze some copper mule mugs at least one hour before you prepare your drinks. If not, serve in a chilled glass.
In a cocktail shaker, add your ginger beer, vodka and grenadine. Give it a good shake and then pour over ice in your chilled copper mug. Squeeze in half a lime and garnish with a few maraschino cherries. Serve immediately.
That’s it! When we entertained last week, we multiplied this recipe out and made a big pitcher to pour over ice in individual glasses. Easy to prepare for one or a group! Enjoy!
I’ve never tried or heard of a mules drink before. It looks so festive in red! ❤

I never thought to make a moscow mule with cherries – great idea!
This looks delicious! My only concern – 3 oz of vodka for ONE drink :O Are the drinks pretty strong then?
Yes 🙂
This looks so festive and good!!!
Yay!!! I’ve been meaning to get this recipe from you!! They were SO GOOD!! So glad you posted!
Yum! There is nothing better than a festive drink! And, a mule is one of my favorites too!
We make holiday mules with…Ginger beer, vodka, a splash of orange juice, a splash of cranberry juice and then a squeeze in a half a line and garnish with fresh cranberries! SOOO yummy! I will have to try your cherry version!
Why did I think you didn’t drink alcohol? Thought for sure I read that here once upon a time!
You’ve probably read that I prefer to eat my calories than drink them. I’m the girl who would always rather eat the cupcake 😉 .
Do you have the amounts for the larger group that you made? Thank you!!
Just take each ingredient and multiply it by the number of guests you’re serving (we did by 8)!
Is this ginger beer alcoholic or non?
It is alcoholic.
This is awesome! I definitely need to have a holiday drink this year. Come to think of it I don’t have a punch bowl so that might be a good gift idea for Santa to bring me.
